Great place to stop for really good treats. They have everything from breakfast items to getting your wedding cake done here. The customer service is great. All the products are great. I have not had a bad item.

Update: Never heard anything back from them. Can’t believe the lack of customer service. I would highly warn against using them, especially for a custom order based on a photo. They promised identical and told me there was no need for me to see the final product prior to our wedding because I had«nothing to worry about.» See the comparison — the weathered look in the pic on the left vs. the bright white cake we got on the right.

We used Sugar Shack for our wedding and they are amazing to work with and the cakes were delicious. They are so talented and easy to work with! Will use them for many for occasions!

We stopped by for breakfast on our way out of town and loved it! We ordered a sausage on cheddar biscuit, and a crescent covered with gooey goodness(pecans and a caramel sauce). We sat on the patio and enjoyed our food and the view! The staff was cheerful and friendly! Must stop here!!! We will be back!

Tried their cinnamon roll and toffee scone today… Delicious! I think I need to go back for more tomorrow before leaving. —– I’m adding to this review since I visited again the day after. This time, I had their jalapeño and sausage kolaches. OMG — best Kolache ever. Super tasty and the sausage tasted super fresh, and pretty good size too. Definitely recommend this place! a

They did my wedding cake and grooms cake and it was AWESOME, they delivered it and left me with NO worries on my wedding day! The cake was delicious and moist! They had many flavors to choose from and lots of different cake designs! Highly recommend them!

The treats here were really good, but the blue haired girl behind the counter needs a lesson or two in customer service. Your product can be awesome, but if the people behind the counter are rude or uninterested in helping customers that can ruin a place. Almond croissant was amazing. We’re locals next time we come in, we’re hopeful it will be a more pleasant experience.

I’ve been going to Sugar Shack since they opened in a little round stand on the Wimberley Square and sold only amazingly great cupcakes. I’m both happy and unhappy that they moved closer to my house. It takes self-control to drive past and not stop. They have some gluten-free options if you need that. They supply desserts to several Wimberley restaurants and their chocolate cake(provided to Wimberley Café) is moist and delicious. If you go between 5 and 6 pm, they often have half-price items during this last hour of the day.

I ordered a cake for my Dad’s 70th birthday. I live in CT, but was traveling to Wimberly for the party. The SSB was extremely helpful and accommodating considering I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. They emailed and called back and forth with me until we had decided on the perfect 70th Margaritaville cake — it was super awesome and impressed all that attended the party. And it tasted great! I highly recommend the custom cakes.

Lady helping was nice. We stopped by to get sweets for weekend. Cookies were okay at best. Brownie with caramel was good. German Apple thing was okay. Chocolate rum cake was okay. I really wanted to like the place but just not enjoy the sweets.

Croissants are so flavor filled here! Try the Rosemary, goat cheese & sundried tomato, it’s delicious! They have a great outdoor patio and a great selection of savory, sweet, & tasty pastries to choose from, so come ready to pick one of everything.

I can’t speak for the custom cakes which there seem to be some issue with, but the cakes and cookies available in store are very good. I enjoy stopping by when I am in Wimberley, and the new location makes it much easier to get to. Sometimes it seems like the place is a bit understaffed, which can be annoying if you have to wait to be serviced for a quick coffee and cake because someone is taking a custom cake order on the phone. I appreciate it’s a small business, but it would be great if there was an easy way to deal with this… Maybe I can just point at what I want and pay?!

We have gone with SSB for a long time now, they even managed to make a last minute birthday cake for my fiancés boss! Monica does an incredibly awesome job and has an amazing eye for detail. We can’t wait to see what our wedding cake looks like come this February! Great place, great food(croissant sandwiches are delicious!!) and friendly staff, overall you’ll be hooked and won’t wanna go anywhere else… Ever!

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend in Wimberly. We love small, local coffee shops and bakeries, so we stopped by on Saturday. I asked several questions about the pastries and the lady at the counter wasn’t very helpful, and another lady in the back, who seemed to be working on some cakes, wasn’t very nice, I would say even condescending on her answers. I’m the costumer! They should be polite! My husband wanted some espresso, but they don’t have a lot of variety there, so we left. I decided to give them a second try on Sunday morning. I ordered 3 different pastries, I pointed at each one of them, and I paid for all 3 of them. They handed me my bag and I left. 2 hours later, when we were already home, I opened the bag of pastries, and there were only 2 of them. Very disappointing. This place really needs some business and costumer service professional advice, if they want to be successful in the long run. The shop wasn’t busy at all, there was another costumer in the store at the same time. No reason to screw up, I would think. Not going back there next time we’re in Wimberly.

I’ll just repost the email I sent the bakery(which received no reply): My husband and I were pretty unhappy with our cakes(especially the groom’s). All four separate cakes were very dry(bridal cake had 3 tiers + groom’s cake), and we couldn’t even taste the whiskey in his cake(chocolate whiskey cake had been very moist at the tasting, and the scotchy tones came through the chocolate beautifully — not so at our reception). The 3-tiered bridal cake looked great, but the groom’s cake was very sloppy(seriously, my 12-year-old sister could have done a better job icing it). Communication and customer service were great(until I had a complaint, so I was ignored), but for what we paid, we were upset with the results. — — — For the cost of wedding cakes, I suggest you go elsewhere. We already had a hard time rationalizing spending that much money on cake, but told ourselves it would be worth it. It wasn’t. We will not be returning or recommending them to anyone.

The people at the sugar shack in Wimberley know what they’re doing. They have an amazing variety of pastries and confections. I’ve tried just about all of them but I think my favorite is the chocolate dipped coconut macaroons! But the sticky cinnamon rolls are awesome too. They recently moved to within walking distance of Wimberly’s Townsquare so I’ll probably be going there even more often now.

I normally don’t leave reviews for former employers but felt like saying something when I noticed the previous review. I worked for the bakery for over a year and never had the problems previously described. I’m wondering if they worked for a different bakery in the area? Peggy and Monica(the mother-daughter team owners) were wonderful to work for. They were always available if you had any questions and went out of their way both for customers and employees. I don’t believe I ever had someone ask for a refund at the bakery and if any problems arose they were quickly worked through so the customer was happy. I also never saw anything used from a box that was passed off as their own. I only left when I graduated and I still stop by every time I pass through the area to say hi. And to get an apple pie. Seriously, their pie and red velvet cake balls could sustain me for life. Everything is wonderful and the owners treat everyone like family. I definitely recommend stopping by if your in the area, or give them a call for delivery. I had the toppers shipped out to Fort Worth for my nieces birthday!

This place is great. The service is great and the treats are great as well. We told the woman who helped is it was our first time in Texas and she have us a tour of what’s offered in the bakery. She made good suggestions and I’m glad I went with what she recommended. Also, the prices are really good for what you get(compared to how much people charge for similar pastries where I’m from). I love this place and I’m so glad we stopped here.
