Wimberley Ace Hardware

I have somewhat forgiven the poor customer service. I think I may have even purchased something under $ 5 to give them another chance at redemption. I have neither had a great shopping experience in this retry period nor a poor one as I have not really interacted beyond paying for an item. However, since I am a local and held hostage to the prices they set and the customer service experience they provide, they are now getting an average rating until such a time when an interaction will propel the rating up or down.

Amazing place with amazing people. Clean store, great service and knowledge staff. They have an incredible selection of STIHL products and Billy, the service manager, it as knowledgeable as they come. The best part is that for a big store they feel like a small mom and pop shop.
Big parking lot and the work they did with the recovery efforts in Wimberley showed their commitment to the community around them.

This place is very clean. They did a great job replacing the old location. I love the selection of sunglasses for $ 2.99! I just got a great deal on an umbrella. Very friendly staff. I will definitely be back.

They have a lot of good stuff here; nails, keys, detergent and the like. If you live in Wimberley and don’t want to drive to San Marcos to Home Depot you can often find what you need. The store is clean, well organized and adequately managed. Older men are always on hand to assist so long as your question isn’t too stupid. Those of us who live here shop the place out of necessity. Never do I look forward to going in or feel good coming out, mostly because of the right wing Christian vibe that permeates the place. They sell oversized «patriotic» white yard crosses with American flags and they decorate their Christmas trees with gun ornaments, not the stuff you’d normally find at Lowe’s. The checkout staff is strictly matter of fact, devoid of much friendliness. So while the store serves it’s purpose, it is not my cup of tea and I don’t really enjoy shopping there.

Was in the area looking for a particular bunny feed and figured I’d stop in here just to see what they had. I didn’t find bunny feed but what I did find were a bunny figurines by Schleich. Up until this day, I only had one but here, they had several different ones available and if you know me, you know I love my bunnehs!
The employees were a little standoffish — keeping to themselves and the locals for the most part but once I checked out, the one cashier chatted for a minute about my purchase.

The Rooster family thoroughly enjoyed the holidays. Good food, visiting with family, and the gifts. Presents as the little called them. Focus on the boy’s third Christmas ever. There are still presents at Grandma’s house so if you have the keys to a U-​haul I’d be grateful.
I asked Santa for an outdoor storage container that would hold my tools. Said gift needed to be sturdy and accommodating for my air compressor, shop vac, and my minimal amount of man stuff. I ended up with a box that nobody had enough wrapping paper to cover with a startling discovery that the cabinet wasn’t waterproof.
Rubbermaid? We ended up back at the ACE in Wimberley with huge box and the receipt. Two minutes of confusion then some help from a friendly employee named Brittany. The refund was done.
This store mixes a regular hardware store with specialty items and seems to please locals as well as the tourist crowd. They even have small baskets designed for kids so little Rooster can shop like a big boy. As the holidays come to a close I’ll remember that I had no issues returning a big ticket item at ACE.
