This place is the REASON I am now a shave ice SNOB. The light SNOW is amazing — none of those crunchy ice bits here. This is pure water turned into fluffy, smooth, soft, melting snow. Add the cream on top and it’s better than ice cream. For years I have sought after a similar shave ice consistency in San Antonio — luckily my father lives in Wimberley so I can have a taste of heaven whenever I visit(seriously. it’s a MUSTDO when I go there). I recommend the silver fox with cream. tastes more like cream soda than the actual cream soda one. The rootbeer is also amazing. The coffee is like a Frappuccino. Oh they are all delicious. I had the almond joy one last time — the cream makes anything amazing! Not sure what these reviews are all about as far as friendliness — all the youngins working there when I’ve visited were super sweet. The owner himself is super friendly and jokes around with us a lot. Bring cash, no cards accepted. Save your receipts for free treats:)

No. Just no. As a self proclaimed shave ice aficionado, don’t bother. First, the gentleman in the shack was definitely put out by our presence. We were in now way welcome. Second, this is about as basic as snow cones get. There are a ton of flavors but the«snow» is just lacking. Sweetened condensed milk is a nice bonus until you realize that the bottom half of the cup is just plain ice. No syrup there at all. The worst part… The spoons. The edges are very sharp and kept slicing my lips. After my third spoonful, I had to get a different spoon elsewhere because skin from my lips had been sliced off and my lips were bleeding. Same thing happened to my wife. The only pro is the price. $ 4 large. Pass on this place.

Nothing better than a shaved ice from here to be the heat! You may not see the place at first since it’s tucked back in the parking lot, but you will be glad when you do. So many delicious flavors to choose from and three different sizes that will for sure hit the spot. Every time I’m in town and I need to cool down, this is where I go.

These are flat-out the best snow cones in the whole world. First of all, the snow cones turn white quickly because the ice is so deliciously fine – which is what makes them so good in the first place! All the syrup is still there at the bottom; you’re not running out of flavor! Just break the ice so that it falls into the syrup. My family has been coming to Wimberley at least once a year for 37 years. At this point, I’ve been here 27 times in my life. Since we discovered the Snow Cone Dude, I’ve been to the snow cone stand 1 – 3 times every day that we’re here. I’ve literally never had a bad experience with the owner. In fact, I think he’s full of character! He opens the stand from Memorial Day through Labor Day, then he closes up shop and heads back to Jamaica for the rest of the year. Fascinating life – and the fact that he makes enough off snow cones to live in Jamaica for half the year shows you how good his product is. Just know what size you want before you approach the window so they can get started on the ice, and for the love of everyone around you, have at least a decent idea of which flavor you’re going to get. Those two simple things will probably help prevent you from having a bad experience! :)

The owner is still rude after all these years, even to regular customers. We have to keep bringing our kids here because there is no where else…

The snow comes are awesome. Unfortunately, the owner is very rude. If you know how to order(size first and them flavor) and don’t mind being treated like a lower class citizen, you will love this place. Because, again, the snow comes are good. I hope he will start being nicer.

The star is for the snowcone. I have never before received such bizarre horrible service. The older gentleman in the booth was rude, condescending, and completely disrespectful. I kept looking at my friend in disbelief and he just kept getting ruder. I thought I was on a hidden camera show, it was that unbelievable. It is a shame that customers are treated poorly by this bully representing this small town business. Snow cones are supposed to be a sweet summertime pleasantry. I would not recommended Wimberley Shave Ice.

I am giving Wimberley Shaved Ice two stars for the excellent selection of flavors. Just about anything you can think of, they have it. The price point is okay, not a great value at $ 3 for a 20 oz size cup, but worth it on hot days. My dissatisfaction comes straight from the service. My family has stopped by the stand multiple times, and as long as we get one of the younger workers, we have a pleasant experience. However when what I assume is the owner is working(old, gray haired man) he is unbelievably rude and condescending, to the point of yelling at customers if he feels you are not ordering the correct way. Its like the soup nazi, but without the charm. My last straw was over the weekend when he asked for the flavors we want, then when I was telling him yelled«I said wait! You people shouting flavors at me all damn day long!» If you don’t want to hear flavors, then don’t run a shaved ice stand, derp. Or ask for the order one flavor at a time… or write it down. No need to be a jerk. I would rather support a local company every day of the week, but after this rude treatment we will be getting our summer treats at Dairy Queen down the street.

The guy running the place was very friendly to the local customer in front of us but seemed disinterested when my wife and I got to the window. When we asked him what one of his flavors was he gave a huff, mumbled something to the young man working with him and then gave us a sample. The young man didn’t look like he was enjoying himself either though. As we were leaving, not even in our car yet, both of our sno cones started turning white as all the syrup/flavor ran to the bottom. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I know we’ll never go back

After a warm Spring afternoon hike, the kids wanted something cool and sweet so we drove over to the Wimberley Shave Ice(Home of the Snocone Dude) trailer. The shave ice flavor selection is amazing and delicious(plus you can add flavors, exponentially expanding the number of flavors available). My favorite is Jamaica Me Crazy with a shot of cream on top. Plus, the snow cone dude is hilarious and does fundraisers for local schools so you know he is a good guy. Did I mention how affordable this place is? I wish he had more seats and more snow cone dudes but it would probably lose some of it’s charm if it grew too big so, maybe the lines are worth it. Kind of difficult to see this little gem but keep driving past the feed store and you’ll find it.
