This is a great independent bookstore. People are very friendly and helpful. They know what they have and where they are. They have variety of books and of course family friendly stuff too. I like the way they arranged the bookstore too. They seem to connect to the community as well.

Awesome store in Winchester Center that helps define the look of the area in the front of the classic Brown and Stanton building. While not as large as other book stores, they are always extremely helpful and courteous. The selection is pretty good for all tastes and ages here. I think they do an especially good job with the children’s section in particular. They always have the very latest books there and my kids are never disappointed.

This is a cute little bookstore in the heart of Winchester. It’s located in that historic building right on the rotary of downtown. I’ve always liked that building. Anyhow — up a few steps is a great little privately-owned book shop, like the kind that Meg Ryan lost in that movie. Seriously! They have 2 rooms — sort of adult/children sections. It’s a great place to browse. You’ll find mostly the popular stuff here — really, they don’t have much space for anything else, but still it’s great to browse and see what’s around. I bet you’ll find something you want. That, or your niece will sucker you into buying books for her. Who can refuse? I mean — I didn’t think kids read BOOKS these days! Hurrah for Book Ends!!!

What a great store. My «Total Patriots» book signing event at this store was a lot of fun. I hope that we can do it again just before father’s day.

I’m giving Book Ends 4-stars just for the owner alone! Aboslutely lovely lady, Judith(I believe, i’m terribly with names!) who is kind-hearted and extremely down to earth. I’ve live in Stoneham, and went to HS at Arlington Catholic I passed this bookstore many times over the years and just recently decided to pop in and check it out. It is a smaller cozy little bookstore with a good selection of titles available. Even though their catalog is dwarfed by the big boys of B&N and Borders, Book Ends offers a good selection and can order just about anything rather quickly when you need your fix. Moreover, they carry the titles you’d expect to see in any bookstore regardless of size and some more unique offerings. I’ve been reading more memoirs and travel writing recently and found some interesting reads and also some great photography books also(bonus!) There is also a good sized children’s/young readers section and do carry a good amount of cards and the like. I’m trying to be proactive in shopping more local establishments and I’m happy I found my way into Book Ends. If you have a moment, find the owner and chat with her for a bit I can certainly promise your next book purchase will be here.

I found some really unique calendars for my holiday shopping list here recently. A bird song calendar with actual bird songs for each month of the year will entertain my grandmother this season. And the Wallace and Grommit calendar is perfect for my brother-in-law, who is a huge fan but has otherwise been hard to shop for in years past.

Book Ends has one of the better children’s sections in the NorthEast. It is not as large as some, but is better chosen. At least it is tuned into what my nieces and nephews are reading. The adults section is also carefully chosen, so it’s OK that it is small. They have one of the oldest and best customer paybacks. Give them your phone number, everytime you spend money it is added in, and when you hit I think it is 100.00, you get a refund. The best part is that it is free. You do not need to pay $ 35.00 a year to keep it going. They have a nice selection of cards, wrapping paper, and reading glasses for those getting old enough to need them and even older enough to have forgotten them.

Book Ends is the best bookstore in the area. It has a good selection though not as big as some of the big chains, it has a interesting selection and is worth a browse. Stop in and say hi to the friendly staff and browse the books and other items book ends has to offer. It is located right in winchester center by the rotary across from Nelson’s Bakery. Happy Reading! Book Ends has been a staple in the community for decades.
