French Valley University, A Child Development Center

My daughter have been attending FVU for a total of 3 years.
When we were looking for a school/​day care for her, it was important for it to be safe, clean, friendly, and educational. My wife and I wanted her to be in a place where she would play with other kids, have a lot of fun, learn new things, and make friends. FVU has delivered on all of our requirements and more. Now, since we can’t stay there all day to see if she is having fun or how well she is treated, we had to observe her behavior and pay close attention to how she reacts going to school in the morning, and what she tell us when she comes home at the end of the day. So far, in 3 years, there has never been a day that she didn’t want to go, or stay there when we dropped her off.

My daughter loves FVU, she has made so many wonderful friends over the years, and everyday when she comes home from school, she can’t stop talking about playing with her friends, and about doing her homework, she loves it. Everyday is an adventure, they play and learn, the teachers read them books, helps them learning to write and read, count their numbers, etc., they play with all kinds of interesting things.
About the facility and staff:
I have irregular working hours, so I drop and pick up her anytime though out the day, and in 3 years, I have always found the place in a safe, clean, and very organized manner. From the classroom, the office, and the bathrooms, the place is always clean and very safe. The teachers and staff are very friendly, and always willing to talk to you and share how your child’s day was. They have offered me flexibility with my schedule, and have always taken good care of my daughter. Just to give an example, when I go pick up my daughter at the end of the day, she hugs her teachers, and the campus administrator at the front desk on her way out.
I can tell that my daughter is happy there, she loves the teachers, and her friends. We are now enrolling her to attend kindergarten at FVU. I hope this review is helpful to you. I know how important it is to know that our children is safe and doing well, when we are out working. I am a very protective father! :)

We were here a year and a couple months. Let me say from the very beginning communication was spotty. What finally brought me to pull her were a few red flags.
You know how all of your friends get awesome projects sent home with their kids from preschool, well mine didn’t. We received 1 piece of paper about every 2 to 3 weeks. I thought this was normal, but after getting some input from my friends and her doctor, this is in fact not normal. Kids should be sent home with TONS of their shitty (I mean this nicely) artwork.
2^nd, she would come home each day from school advising us that she was being hit hard by other kids at school. Yes I understand kids hit, kick, bite whatever. But everyday? I approached the teacher, she kinda shrugged it off and said she would speak to the other parents.
3^rd, she would cry in her sleep on the nights she came home from school, I imagine dreaming of what horrible bullying went on that day.
4^th, when I would drop my daughter, the morning staff, if I was lucky would even look my way. No good morning, Hi Kaitlyn, nada! I get it, you hate your job, why are you here?! Super depressing :(
5^th, they snap pics all day and post on their FB page, but only of their other location. I have to BEG, seriously, I have the emails (if they even respond) for pics of my one and only.
Finally after venting to my friends and her doctor about this, they assured me I am NOT crazy and this is very unusual behavior for a preschool (maybe a high school, not a place with very young minds)
I let my little once know she didn’t have to go back there and she screamed in delight.
She is now at a proper school with staff and activities which suit her age group. My heart is happy now and we can all finally breathe.

Both of our girls attended FVU from Preschool to Kindergarten and they loved it! We loved the kinder program, especially the small class size, full day curriculum and how much they learned. The teachers and staff cared for our girls like their own. We will miss the teachers and staff at FVU!

We never felt connected to this facility… so we left. A couple of reasons why: 1) We didn’t care for the fact that the front desk is a deserted island in the morning, that felt unsafe. 2) Lets NOT discuss the older woman who «sits» watch in the early room in the morning… SO rude and stand off-ish…god forbid she get out of her chair to greet a parent or interact with the kids. 3) We had our child there for quite some time, and yet never really got to know most of the teachers names, despite trying… NOR…did they try to get to know us by name. And the saddest part…4) When our child’s therapist stated that during a session our child said, «my teachers and friends say they don’t like me». We had always felt that our child somehow «annoyed» the teachers at this school… mainly by the looks we received, and sadly, most importantly by the looks our child received. The ultimate kicker was the day we chose to pull our child from the program early because when we picked him up, his faced was INCREDIBLY scratched up… we are talking a deep-​ish cut on his eye!!! When I asked my child what had happened, he turned to the child who had scratched him, pointed, and said what happened. That child he pointed to laughed, and when I asked the teacher what happened her ONLY response was: «Hmmmm…he didn’t seem upset about anything», didn’t bother to approach offending child,…turned around to what she was doing and didn’t appear to give a crap that my child was hurt… NOR…that I was upset. That disgusted me… and it suddenly began to make sense why my child would scream and cry when I would announce that it was time to go to school. …best decision we made was to leave… now, my child is happy, calm, and a joyful child yet again. I feel awful that I subjected my child to this place. I have no idea what went on… but I have NEVER witnessed my child in such a state of upset… I can only assume. Beware future parents… most specifically if your child isn’t «liked».
***ONE positive… Miss Amber is delightful… and the ONLY one who expressed kindness and concern towards my child. For that, we are appreciative.

Both of my girls attended FVU and they loved it. Julie is a great director and Trish is awesome. My girls have had Miss Quincea, Miss Karina and many other teachers that are amazing. I have recommended many friends to FVU and will be sending my 2 yr old there soon.
I especially like how safe I feel my kids are there and all the love and attention they get. I toured several pre schools and this was my first choice.
The handwriting without tears program really set my daughter up for success in kinder. She excelled compared to her classmates.

Both of my kids attended French Valley University and we were very pleased with the teachers and all of the staff. If you live in the area I highly recommend checking out this preschool.

My son attended pre-​school at FVU, and when we learned they were offering private kindergarten as well, we were thrilled and signed him up right away.
Pre-​school was fun and dynamic, the children rotating to different classrooms like Let’s Pretend, Let’s Build and the Mad Lab where they were kept engaged and interested, having fun and learning simultaneously. The kids did not want to leave most of the time! All of the staff, teachers and directors, greeted each child (and parent) by name and are so friendly and kind.
The private kindergarten was exceptional. With a ratio of 1:12, and an all day program, the amount of material covered was vast, but not at all rushed and left plenty of time for play. My son’s favorite subject was science. They even hatch chicks in the classroom. The kinder teacher is a fabulous educator and such a kind-​hearted and warm individual. It was a wonderful experience and I only wish they taught more grades!

Great place for my 2.5 year old son! The teachers are very warm and caring and it isn’t too regimented. There is lots of outdoor play and no forced projects or anything like that. He is very happy everyday I pick him up! It’s been great for his social skills too.
