I love Get in Shape for Women! The trainers are great, personable and push you just the right amount to get you to accomplish what your goals are whether it be to lose weight, maintain or tone up.(Or make a dramatic transformation which MANY member have!) Also, the Owner Maria Pennington is amazing at running the business. She cares about every member or potential member that walk in the door(She and the trainers know every member by name) and is very knowledgeable about diet, nutrition, exercise and injuries and when modification or rest is needed. This is a business I highly recommend and enjoy going to regularly!

I just LOVE Get In Shape For Women in Winchester. The location is great, the hours are convenient, and it is clean. Most of all, every single workout is guided by a SKILLED personal trainer that changes up the workouts and offers guidance. I look forward to my workouts, and I would recommend Get In Shape For Women in Winchester to anyone looking for a great, focused workout and results. I have never stuck to any exercise plan or gym membership before, and now I have found out why. Get In Shape For Women is enjoyable, challenging and it works.

Like many people I’ve bounced around from gym to gym — large, small and in between. GISFW isn’t a gym, it’s like your own fitness center with a personal trainer and health coach at your disposal. The small group setting gives you motivation while still providing individual attention from the trainers. The new owner at this location has recently upgraded the studio. She is personable and started off as a client at GISFW — you can tell it is more than a business for her, it’s become her lifestyle. I like the fact that She and her family live in Winchester, her children go to the local schools and she is vested in the community. I don’t live in the community but find the location easy to get to and always find on street parking very close to the studio. I’m happy that I finally found GISFW and excited for the future as I take my workouts and overall health to a new level!

So this is my first experience with personal training, and I have to say I am disappointed so far. I went in for my first session this morning-I met the trainer last night so he knew I was new. The machines were barely explained to me, and I felt like I was really on my own for the majority of the training. I didn’t really get the personal training part; it really felt more like supervised circuit training. I will say when I went in there for my 6 am class, there was 4 other ladies already there, and it seemed like 5 people was too much for the trainer. I do like the set up of the training with 30 min of strength training and 25 min of cardio. I do feel like I got a good workout; but I was surprised there was no warm up or stretching to start before hitting the weights. Seems like that would be a good suggestion. The gym is spotless and the machines are newer and in good shape. The other clients are very supportive and kind. I am going to keep an open mind and finish the Groupon, but I don’t think the training is worth the regular rates at this point. I will update after I finish the 10 visits.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the experience at Get In Shape For Women located in Winchester Center. The manager and trainers are so positive and encouraging, and push you to reach your goals. The gym is spotless and the format is perfect– 30 minutes of strength training followed by 25 minutes of cardio, You get a great workout in a short amount of time, with a trainer who makes sure you are on track! And the manager and trainers are always available to answer any questions about nutrition, which is a huge component in the program. When you sign up for a membership, you get put on a schedule so the trainers expect you and are ready to work with you 100% of the time. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is interested in setting aside time for your health and wellness.
