Katana Salon and Spa

I feel kind of crazy writing a second updated review, but here goes:
I have been getting my hair cut by Lauren for a few months now, and she’s great. She takes the time to make sure she’s giving you the cut you want for the lifestyle you lead. And she’s easy to talk to, which is great for me because sometimes I find myself clamming up in the stylist’s chair.

If you are looking for lash experts, this is the place! I’ve seen Charity & Ekaterina and I cannot say enough how amazing these girls are. They are careful, thorough and knowledgeable about the delicacies of lash extensions. 5 stars!

I wished I asked what special treatment was given when we were told my teenager’s 3″ haircut was $ 50. Nothing out of the ordinary. Guess it’s not our place to return.

This review is for the skin care and waxing services with April. Go to her! You will not be disappointed. She is extremely talented and knowledgeable. Your skin will feel absolutely amazing once you leave and will continue to glow for days after. She’s awesome.

Having had a terrible experience with my last haircut at a salon in Burlington, I decided to try Katana. I have been in to see Emma twice now and I cannot say enough good things about her. She really listens to what you are looking for and she does a great job! I will definitely be sending my mom and sister in to go see her.

I would give it less if i could. I was 5 minutes late for my appointment and apologized to the receptionist when i arrived at 405 for my 4pm appointment with Tommy. She said that was ok –as i told her that i could not find the salon. She asked me to sit and he would be right with me. I waited until 439pm and she came over and apologized that Tommy took his next client because i was late. What??? That was so wrong-​how long were you going to keep me waiting??? Was that my punishment-​or did you over book in the first place. What a DIVA!!!

Katana Salon is the best! Tommy is a terrific stylist and the entire staff is attentive and friendly The Katana Shampoo experience is the best I have ever had. It is like a fabulous head and neck massage. Charity in the spa does a wonderful job with eyebrows All in all, going to Katana is like a vacation day

I’ve been a client at Katana for over three years now and always leave feeling satisfied, relaxed, and more beautiful! Tommy has such amazing talent with hair. I’ve recommended many friends, neighbors, my dental hygienist… all are fans for life! His award winning personality aside, I’d see him for the gorgeous cuts (my friends love his color too) regardless.
Over the last 8 months or so, i’ve been seeing April for facials. I cannot say enough about the transformation i’ve seen in my skin. I’ve had facials at various spas over the years, but none compare to the way my skin looks and feels after a treatment by April. She is *extremely* knowledgable and helped me diagnose a skin issue that even my dermatologist could not resolve. My skin is looking better than it has in a decade and I owe that to the results i’m getting from services with April!
The atmosphere is clean, modern, and relaxing.
Highly recommend Katana!

Katana is very inviting and the spa is so relaxing. I love the look and feel of the space (I love the old Hollywood lights and mirrors where I get my makeup done for events!). I feel comfortable there because I know I’m in good hands. And I’ve been there many times for different services, facials, brow waxings, blow outs, and each time I have received the best care. Normally I see either Alana or April for my brows, they are the best! The estheticians are knowledgeable about the services and products and really helped me decide what is best for my skin.
Overall, I would DEFINTELY recommend Katana to anyone looking for a great facial, massage, or hair cut.

I have been very impressed with my experience at Katana. The salon is clean and stylishly decorated. The staff are all professional and welcoming. I am a particular fan of Lisa, who I think has a great eye for brows! I am always pleased with my brows after I see her for a relaxing and quick brow wax. Booking appointments is easy and I never have an issue getting in for quick touch up!

This salon was recommended to me by a close friend. I had a Swedish massage with Nicole that was amazing! She asked lots of questions prior and was able to identify exactly what areas to focus on. I’ll definitely return to see her again soon!

Riane does an amazing job with highlights! She’s often booked out but she is well worth the wait. The atmosphere of the salon is nice. Their prices are lower than other salons in winchester. Parking can be a pain.

Favorite Salon, great staff. No over-​the-​top silliness like some salons (robes, locker rooms, cucumber water etc) but perfect for in-​and-​out maintenance appointments or basic relaxation.

I used to go into Boston for my haircuts, but the other week I just didn’t have time, so I booked an appointment with Katana, the nearest salon to my house that looked cool.
Emma gave me an incredibly awesome cut. It was so good that I think I will be going to her from now on – she’s won my loyalty.

Guys, I suggest finding another. I had awesome haircuts from master barbers Marina and Joanne, but they both moved on. After the success with a barber, I went to a local barber shop where the cut was okay, but not as good as before. I decided to give Katana another try even though they didn’t have a master barber on staff. The cut was weak. When the stylist was done and asking what I thought, I had to point out to her that one side of my hair was longer than the other. I wasn’t an easy customer as I had let my hair get pretty long, but having your hair touch/​cover your ear in the same place seems pretty basic. I also had to wait 30 minutes because something got screwed up in the scheduling. They did give me a glass of red wine while I waited to take the edge off.

I went to see stylist Riane for hair extensions in March. I had been wanting to do it for a few years now but was nervous about moving forward. A month later I am in love with my new hair and expect to be seeing her often to maintain it. The salon is so reasonably priced and they deliver top notch service. I was extremely impressed by the atmosphere and people who work in the salon. If you have to spend four hours in a salon to get Victoria Secret hair, this is the one you want to spend those hours in. I live in NYC and am from MA. I will now be driving 4.5 hours to see Riane every time I need my hair done.

I love love love this salon! It took me a little while to find the right fit but Tommy is pretty much my favorite person on the planet. He’s adorable, he listens to what I want done to my hair, and executes it perfectly. His prices are also quite reasonable for the quality of work that he does.
The salon itself is well decorated and relaxing and the front desk staff is always kind and courteous. The part I’m happiest about is that the owner, Kathy makes sure they stand by their work. She understands that the outcome of salon services can be really subjective and while the stylist may think they did a stellar job it may not be what you were looking for. When I first started going here I was seeing a less experienced stylist than Tommy and my hair ended up wayyyy darker than I wanted it. My hair is very fine and totally plays by its own rules. So while the mishap really wasn’t even the stylist’s fault, I was still set up with a senior colorist who stripped the color out at no cost to me. While it seems to me like the right thing for them to do, I don’t know of any other salons that would fix something like that at a loss to them.
I also see April for brows and she’s super down to earth, fun to talk to, and does a great job.
This is just all around a great salon. My only complaint is that parking can be really brutal on weekends because it’s on-​street.

I would highly recommend going to this Spa! I have been going to April B. for well over a year now for all of my waxing needs. She makes the process effortless and is always such a peach! In no time flat you’re out the door looking and feeling awesome!

I took advantage of a coupon to get a facial for half off at Katana about a month ago. It was a very relaxing experience, and I left with my skin feeling great. I also bought one of the products the esthetician used on me, and I’ve been pretty happy with it. However, the environment itself was a bit noisy — they were doing some renovation to expand into space next door. I understand that type of work can be noisy, but I wish they had told me about that when I booked my appointment. The esthetician did apologize for the noise, at least.
Not sure if I’d go back and pay full price for a facial.
