Quintessential, storybook pie shop. Oh, but the sugar cream pie is OUTOFTHISWORLD! A staple of my Indiana home growing up, «sugar pie» is a typical dessert of the western European countries of Northern France and Belgium, the Canadian province of Quebec, and some Midwestern United States. Other names for this sweet concoction are Hoosier sugar cream pie, Indiana cream pie, Indiana farmpie and finger pie. Whatever you call it, you’ll never forget its deliciousness. A large selection of pies are available to take home from a freezer near the cash register. Also, frozen dough noodles and pie shells. This eatery itself reminds me of grandma’s kitchen. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Lunch specials as well as menu items are available. Everything I’ve tried here has been good and the girls at the counter are always pleasant and helpful. Definitely will return to this restaurant every time!

Wonderful hand padded burger on home made wheat bun! Burger was perfect and the bacon was crispy. Would recommend going again!

Our favorite breakfast joint. Everything on the menu is good and the staff is very friendly. This is the epitome of a hometown restaurant. Oh, and it is the pie capital of Indiana. What could be better?

The food is good, breakfast as well. Come during the week when the regular waitresses are working, the weekend help is not as attentive. You don’t have to wait long for your food or drinks or pie. Try the pie! They are great at keeping your coffee cup filled too!

Ok, the pies are made in a big factory across the street. They are machine made(at least in part, but they still are pretty good and seem to use pretty good ingredients. There is a wide variety, from cream pies to fruit pies to the Indiana favorite sugar cream pie. They are all worth trying… at least the er…5… that I have… A very pleasant surprise here is that the Hoosier pork tenderloin is on point. It is huge and nice and crispy. The rest of the food is solid. I haven’t tried it for breakfast but I would like to.

Not really a fan of most of the pies, and I can’t stand sugar cream. The sandwiches are tasty though. love the fish tail. huge & messy. They have real whipped cream for the hot chocolate. A fun feature is that they sell yesterday’s pie leftovers in the freezer super cheap, so you can take home a couple slices of pecan for a couple bucks, half a blackberry pie for $ 3, etc. You can also buy crusts and premade pies too.

Great sandwiches and great pies. Lunch time here is a great place to have a real nice meal. Their are known for the Pies but their sandwiches and breakfasts are also well done here also.

I may be a bit biased with Winchester being my hometown, but this place is the bee knees. Sugar cream pie, anyone? If you’ve never had it, let alone never heard of it, you had best make a drive to Wick’s. And for the price? Can’t beat it! They also serve a phenomenal breakfast — I tend to favor the biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate. If going for the hot chocolate, make sure you ask for the big dollop of whipped cream. Simply the best. Though my trips back to Winchester are usually to see my family, I’ll sometimes make it a necessity to meet up with an old friend — at Wick’s. You definitely get that small town feel when walking in the door. And you’ll also be surrounded by a lot of aging folks. ha Winchester doesn’t have a lot of restaurants by any means, but Wick’s is top notch.

Went here while visiting my wife relatives. It’s nothing fancy, but it was a lil slice of Indiana. It’s mainly sandwiches, burger, soups and salad. I ordered the special chipped beef over a biscuit and mash with pie for $ 6.30. I was nervous and excited, never having chipped beef before. It was good. The winner was there famous sugar cream pie. Not quite what I expected but delicious nonetheless. My wife had the peanut butter cream pie which was good for one mouthful otherwise it was too rich. Definitely check this place out.

Mrs. Wick’s sugar cream pie is the official State Pie of Indiana. The restaurant is typical: small, usual diner type food offerings, somewhat limited hours of operation. The staff are average to friendly. The prices are good and the food is better than average. Burgers, fries, tenderloins, fish, vegetables, club sandwiches and some dinners such as beef Manhattan. I have eaten there maybe 30 times over the years and the experiences have been consistent. Why you have to visit Wick’s is for the pies. A wide variety of fruit, pecan, pumpkin and the state pie of Indiana — the sugar cream pie. I have had people who lived in Indiana and now live elsewhere say that one of the things they miss the most is Wick’s sugar cream pies. When I worked in the Winchester area I had people ask me to stop at Wick’s and see what was available in the second’s freezer. The second’s freezer is where they have the pies that are not perfect, maybe the crust is broken, from the pie factory across the street. Believe me they taste the same but are very inexpensive. It depends upon the season what kinds of pies will be in the second freezer but that doesn’t really matter.

The clever soul who invented the title of «Moms and Pops» businesses most likely coined it after he or she stepped into Mrs. Wick’s Pie Shop in Winchester, Indiana. Your father went to school with the owner’s son and you played the grandson in basketball whose mother was your cousin’s dentist. Yeah, it’s one of those kind of places. And it’s been around for decades for a reason. Want to make a pie? Go to Wick’s. Want to take a pie home? Wick’s. Want to pop a squat, have a coffee and eat some pie on the spot? Wick’s(the coffee shop talk scene at Wick’s is out of this world) Pie isn’t their only specialty — they also make delicious pot pies and noodles. If you’re grabbing lunch, I recommend ordering the chicken/beef and noodles. We often find ourselves there picking up a big stash of pies to give to neighbors for the holidays — they are crazy-affordable. Oh! How could I forget to mention that this is THE home of Indiana’s State Pie: Sugar Cream! So it’s pretty much your duty as a Hoosier to pay a visit to this place.
