This was a random stop today. I was drawn in by what I thought were wood carved animals in the window, but once inside I realized these critters were not made of wood at all. These things were made out of brush bristles. and this store had every animal you could imagine– elephants, kiwi, hedgehog, you name it.
The general store is a new twist on Ye Olde Towne General Store. There is a little of this, a little of that here. The store has all kinds of dishes and pottery with an apple motif– because this is the heart of apple country, after all. There’s also some vintage matchbooks for sale as well as Virginia made food products like peanuts, marmalade and maple syrup.
