Very tiny place, not a lot of room, small table, took a while for the food, once we got it, it tasted great but the time and size put me off a little.

Very big menu. Lots of choices. A little nicer than a straight up diner but still a great local casual place to have a meal.

Amazing, warm service. Mediocre food. Let’s start with the bleh so we can end on a good note. Scrambled eggs are a bit overcooked. They were quite dry. My Sachem omelette overall was good, but the home fries were undercooked in some parts; mainly the larger cuts of potato were the culprits. The service was great though. The waitress checked up on us, made sure our coffee was always filled, and even had the other waitress bring us our check when her own hands were tied up. Just the other day, I had a bad experience with waiting 15 minutes for the check, so being able to close out right away was a nice touch. The waitress was even apologizing for things I didn’t even notice. And her and others on staff wished us Happy Holidays. I feel warm and tingly just writing about my experience.

Honestly if it wasn’t for Mario being the owner I’d give it a 1 star, but let’s be real the lady that waited on me today has messed up my order every time she’s waited on me. Here’s the real killer it’s not like she isn’t nice or anything she just doesn’t really seem to pay attention. Which again isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just not a great thing for a waitress. Also my mother said her silverware was dirty and the bathroom was gross. On further inspection of the joint I noticed that every window was dirty with not just fingprints but also food particles. It’s actually a shame because we use to love to come here.

I came here a few times when I was younger, but decided to switch it up and come here for a Sunday morning late breakfast. We got there around 11:45(2 people) each ordered eggs, toast, home fries and pancakes. Not thinking it would take too long. About 40 minutes later when our stomachs were eating ourselves our waitress came over to let us know that someone else accidentaly took our food but ours will be out relatively shortly. She then said our drinks are«taken care of» — we had water & hot coffee. Then she brought out mimosa’s when neither of us had no desire to have one or drink it. We asked if the bill could be comped as we didn’t want the drinks and asked her to take them back to get them out of our way. Had to pay $ 21 for poor service and an owner unwilling to comp the bill but send over mimosa’s which were probably the same price as the meal itself. Last time coming here for sure!

Breakfast: Breakfast sandwiches are ok. Coffee is lousy. Dinner: people are friendly but service is extremely slow even though the place was nearly empty. Food seems clean/safe, but uninspired and bland. I just moved in around the corner and hoped it would be much much better.(Maybe trim the menu and focus on doing a couple items really well? I don’t know; start over.)

We were here on a Sunday at noon. Seated quickly and good service. I got the shrimp quesidella which was very good. My husband thought the steak and eggs were a little skimpy $ 9.95. Overall I would recommend.

All I can say is, typical diner food. HOWEVER, it’s the best diner food I’ve found in the area. I’ve been few times and am consistently impressed. Absolutely delicious. Always hits the spot and is really reasonably priced! I highly recommend this gem!

Went tonight for the first time with 2 others. The food was very good and the atmosphere casual and friendly. We will be returning there often!

The food is always good– in fact their scallop roll rivals any fried scallops I’ve had in the north shore. Their burgers are delicious. The black horse tavern has great décor, but the food at the diner is much better.

This place is pretty good, but does seem more like a bistro than a diner.

I have driven by this place since I moved here 18 Yrs ago, and never stopped in. Well that was my loss!!! Went for breakfast one Sunday morning, and I was pleasantly surprised, cute little place, clean, great people, but breakfast was delicious, very good quality, and Mom and brothers love it also! My new breakfast spot!!! YUMMMMM…

I got take out many years ago and while it was good, I’ve never gone back until last night. Mr. Wonderful and I wanted to go out to dinner, but we weren’t sure where to go. I suggested this place and told him… if it’s bad, I owe him a dinner. We both started with the Lobster Bisque and it was awesome. I don’t give a shit if it’s out of a can… it was comparable to Turner’s Seafood. We both had salads and then crab stuffed mushrooms. Our waitress also brought over a warm garlic bread dipped in olive oil. ALL was good. He had the Veal Scallopini(sp?) with Mushroom Ravioli. He loved it and took some home. I had the Penne with Broccoli and it was awesome. It was so awesome that I got up and had to put it down on an empty table. Believe me… I wanted to finish, but I had enough. I would definitely go back with my honey or get take out again. I swear… I swear. next time a bowl of Lobster Bisque & a salad. Thank you! Will definitely be back.

So we got here about 630. Mentioned to the waitress that we needed to be somewhere leaving at 7:30 for something not too far away. Waited another 10 minutes before we were seated at our party of five at a table right in front of us. Waited again for our menus, odd, because the guess we were with actually knew the waitress by name. She was clearly frazzled, she was on one side of the room and another waitress on the other. It seems like maybe everybody all came in at once, but not sure. We ordered a myriad of my items and waited for our salads. Again. I got the salmon dish. Really good, but I want to say I think they made the salsa up using pineapple large pieces of green and red pepper and I’m not sure what else. It really wasn’t a salsa. But then again, it tasted good. Another person and I party got a turkey club. It was massive. The shepherds pie was good says my mate. It was made with lamb and veal as well as potatoes and corn. It looked really good too. And I’m not a shepherds pie fan. All in all we did get out on time, but I felt truly rushed once our food arrived. I think the management needs to realize they need more staff during the peak dinner hours.

My son and I had a wonderful breakfast here. He loved his omelet with hash and cheese and grilled english muffin. My steak and eggs were prepared perfectly. Our service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back again. Although it was not obvious from Swanton Street, there is ample parking in their lot off a side street.

The ultimate«local», its a great place to grab a good meal, have a drink or two and enjoy a few laughs with the very friendly staff. 2TV ‘s at the bar if you want to watch a game. Not only an A+ breakfast spot but great menu from pizza’s to sandwiches to full blown entrees. Many, many visits-never been disappointed

Convenient for Winchester residents, but there are plenty of better breakfast spots in surrounding towns. I’ve been there twice, and both times they’ve messed up the order of seating waiting parities. The last time I had to step in and say something when one of the waitresses(there is no host or hostess, a desperate need for this place) called a party that had arrived 10 minutes after us(same number party, so different sized seating was not an issue). Food is good, but not great. Portions are good, not great. Staff is not the friendliest, but quick. All in all, a decently average place. Not worth a long trip to.

Came in on a Friday night to try the diner down the street. I will say that the service and staff were friendly and attentive. Just the food was really disappointing. On our visit they were out of a few items we asked for on the menu. While the menu here is expansive for a place of this size, they would probably be better served with a smaller higher quality menu. They do serve beer and wine. I also hear they do brunch. I will update if I ever give it a try. Steak Tips — They were cooked fine, so was the flavoring. However it was nothing I couldn’t have done at home. The sides were risotto and mashed potatoes. The first was more like instant rice, no flavor of risotto I’ve ever had. The mashed potatoes had a parts that were chunky and filmy, like it was left under a heat lamp for too long. Lobster Bisque — Didn’t like it. Tasted fresh out of a can. No traces of lobster. Grilled Shrimp Appetizer — it came in a scampi style broth and a few pieces of garlic bread. This didn’t look grilled but it was definitely my favorite item.

Very good breakfast, relaxing country feel interior, parking was a little difficult but overal it was a good time. I do like that they had some different specials, some included baked beans, others included a choice of all kinds of meats. I’d love to come here for dinner one time.
