Stopped here on my way to Stroudsburg. I should have waited until I got to my destination! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, well done, with lettuce, tomato, and onion. My burger was cooked medium rare and had no lettuce or bacon! What’s the point of asking how I’d like my meal cooked if it’s going to be how the chef wants it anyway? The waitress was rude when I wanted it deducted from the bill because I could not eat it. She said I should have said something and should wait for a new one to be made. Excuse me??? I didn’t have another 20 minutes to wait for my food! And she never came over to check on us after the food was delivered! This is not the first time this has happened either, I came here about a year ago and ordered a well done burger and it was again severely undercooked and not what I asked for. Don’t come here for burgers because in two trips they have yet to get it right.

first let me start my saying I live local and hadn’t gone to the gap for years because I! I’ve in saylorsburg and usually go to the chestnut hill diner on 115&209. which by the way has very good food and service. It was mother’s day and my wife wanted to try the gap diner. everything started out fine I ordered haddock and my wife ordered prime rib. It took a while to get our order and all I can say is it was the worse meal I was ever served, the prime rib was full of fat and cold and my haddock was not haddock and it looked so bad I was afraid to eat it. if you are into food poisoning this the diner you, if not stay away far far away.

Been coming here for years. It used to be twice a week, for the hubby and I. It has dwindled down to once every few weeks. New owner, not so good. All new wait staff, nope. Actually walked out one time. Couldn’t get anyone to take our order. This time waited 15 minutes for a salad. It’s been a 27 minute wait for our dinner. And definitely not worth the wait.

We ate breakfast there two mornings in a row. Good food and friendly service. Fast and friendly with a hometown feel to it.

Five of us were looking for anything but chains and fast food while returning from Camel Beach. I had a distant memory of a diner being located off of the 512 exit of 33. We pulled in, sat down, and were greeted by a very friendly waitress. Three of us went for breakfast foods, a mixture of omelettes and pancakes. Two of us tried something a little bit more adventurous. One had the chicken fingers, admittedly not very adventurous. The second one had the turkey club sandwich, also not very adventurous. Because we stuck with standard diner fare, and did not venture far from what they could possibly be able to deliver, we all had very good meals. The omelettes and potatoes were very good, we had a mixture of spinach bacon cheese and onions. The turkey club was made with fresh turkey breast and a little bit of salt pepper and hot sauce made it a very good sandwich.

My girlfriend and I had just finished up what turned out to be the most physically challenging hike of my life and were starving as we were driving from East Stroudsburg back to Philly. I was overcome with the urge for a big cheeseburger and so I was thrilled when we came upon the Gap Diner. The interior was very cute and mostly empty, other than one or two elderly pairs sipping coffee. The staff were polite, although at one point they were openly discussing how it was pointless for them to come in if there was no one here, which doesn’t really instill confidence in a patron. The menu was perfectly boring with nothing special at all. Prices were fairly cheap, which was nice. We ordered cheese fries to start with and then I got a cheeseburger and my girlfriend got a feta omelet. Everything was no frills, totally basic. I enjoyed my burger but I got the feeling it was frozen rather than freshly made. It hard the burger and cheese, that was it. Some other toppings would have been nice. The cheese fries were tasty, but perfectly basic. The only reason I gave this place a 3 stars rather than 2 was that my girlfriend really loved her omelette. Once again, though, nothing too special about it – just feta and egg and that’s it. In the end I probably would not go back. The décor was cute and the food wasn’t bad but it was overall just an extremely thrill-less dining experience.

Good for breakfast. As for other meals, haven’t been in a long time. Seems to be a popular spot with the locals for breakfast at least. Waitresses are all nice. Good food. Conveniently located just off Rte 33 near Wendy’s and Sunoco. Why not support a local business!

My experience at this diner is one of those stories that when I tell friends, they sit waiting for the punchline. They’re thinking, how can this be true? But sadly, it is. I only recently moved to this area of Nazareth area about two months ago, so when my out of town cousin came to visit that very week, I wasn’t really sure where we could go for a quick bite to eat before she needed to get home. We accidentally stumbled upon the Gap Diner, and i figured, it’s a diner, how bad can it be? I started out totally optimistic. I mean, this place has not one but TWO paintings of dogs playing poker. Definitely crowd pleasers. I’m all about hole in the wall atmosphere, seriously. And as is the usual go-to for my friends, and I, we both ordered omelettes. Soon after the food arrived, my cousin noticed a hair in hers. And then another. OK, i know it happens. That’s to be expected from time to time and you cannot judge an establishment on what could be a freak incident. In fact, we were in such a hurry, my cousin decided to just eat her toast, drink her coffee, and forget about it. Until the waitress stopped by the table to see if everything was ok, likely having overheard our conversation. We promptly explained the hair situation. To which she echoed back my own words — yeah, well, it happens. But then it went further. She asked, did these hairs happen to be black and curly? And holding back our sickness, we both replied yes. Oh. She explained there is a gentleman in the kitchen who just isn’t clean and no matter how many times they discuss it with him, he still isn’t washing up. TMI? Maybe. Or maybe its just enough information… to make sure I never come back. Too bad, because the food was cheap, and I’ll really miss those poker playing dogs.

Gross. Went here while in vacation visiting family. The waitress was pretty friendly but it took forever to get a cup of soup and a Greek salad. I guess they are Greek as they had many Greek options… gyros– falafels etc. the salad was gross… Two words to describe-oily and limp. The soup was ok. The over all feel of the diner was unfriendly. Food was nasty. The end.

We stopped on a Friday night at 5:30. The service was very adequate. However, the food was a disappointment. I ordered a «Homemade Stuffed Pork chop». While the stuffing may have been homemade, the pork chop had the consistency and taste of precooked canned meat. It was really not very good. My wife ordered a tuna melt. I would expect canned meat for tuna but not for the pork chop. She said the tuna part of the sandwich was little more than tuna and salad dressing. Not much creativity to make it something to draw you back. We often stop in Wind Gap to eat a quick supper, usually at Burger King. Unfortunately, I think they are better than what we experienced at the diner.

We stopped in here for a quick lunch. My 4 friends were leery of going in, but I enjoy a good dive, so I was enthusiastic enough. Well, turns out I should have listened to the friends. The staff failed to bring out my friend’s water(it took 3 requests to actually get it). When we said we needed more time to decide on our orders, the woman came back two minutes later and literally stood next to the table staring at us for several minutes(!!!) while we finished perusing the menu. The waitress couldn’t tell my friend if there was egg in the veggie burgers(yes, they come frozen, but go read the box, please! Do people not care about dietary restrictions/allergies?). they ended up charging me for 2 sodas, even though I only had one(and no, we didn’t get any refills, but watch out — those DO cost extra, I hear!). They would not take it off the bill either, it was ridiculous. The cashier didn’t know how to operate the till and kept us waiting as she couldn’t figure out how to read the bill(? I am still confused as to what the issue was). All around, it was a poor choice and I would never return. The food was OK, but I’d sooner go across the street to Wendy’s than return to this diner. Awful all around!

3.5 Stars, place was fine. Took a little while for waitress to greet me while @ counter, but was fine after that. Coffee OK, not great. Had the french toast w/2 eggs special, I believe # 3 on their menu. Was fine. Would go back when in area.

Service with a smile but this place had no southern hospitality that’s for sure. I had cream of Turkey(soup of the day). The specials looked good but I didn’t try any. Service fast but no one returned to check on me.
