Anyone who has been to Firehouse knows that the subs are excellent. Once you’ve had Firehouse, you’ll never want Subway again. I almost always get the Beef and Cheddar Brisket, though it is a VERY heavy sandwich and you’ll be feeling it for hours afterward. Still, it’s delicious. Brisket is perfect. This particular Firehouse could use some work. Not sure if it’s a Winder thing or what but the service is subpar. When you walk into the East Side Athens Firehouse, everyone calls out an energized greeting. They’re fast and friendly. When you go into the Winder Firehouse, it’s like seeing death make a sandwich. They don’t seem like they want to help you or anything. Doesn’t seem to affect the food, they’re still making the sandwiches, but a smile every now and then wouldn’t hurt!

Tried this place twice in the last two weeks. Excellent subs. Loved the brisket with Sweet Baby Rays sauce, the Turkey Bacon Cheddar and the Super club.

Hope they don’t get your order wrong, because if you take it back the girl at the counter will just roll her eyes and mumble to herself. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I got past the nasty drink dispenser but the attitude I got from the employee was all it took for me to realize that this place will never make another dollar off of me. HORRIABLE!

I tried for the first time today. The service was awesome. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They made the experience great. The food was terrific. I now have a new favorite place to eat. Great job!

Good service but very overpriced. You can get better quality(especially bread) and a better price at Publix.

I agree with another poster — Publix does make the best subs. However, Publix is not a restaurant, and you can’t sit down and eat your fresh sub inside Publix. I know. I tried. They weren’t happy about it… LOL Anyway, Firehouse Subs is by far the best sub place in Winder. Firehouse’s worst sandwich is still about a million times better than a sub from Subway. If you want a good sandwich, this is the place to go. The prices are a little steep, but they’re not much more expensive than Subway. Given the quality difference, Firehouse is definitely worth the price. My favorite? The corned beef sub. It’s just awesome. All of Firehouse’s sandwiches come with fresh pickles, which is also a plus in my book. I also like the variety in fountain drinks.

The subs are fine, but on the pricey side. For the same money, I would go to Publix or save a buck and go to Subway.
