We thought this place was great. It is a little hard to get to as it seems it is inside a maze of a neighborhood near apartments, but totally worth it. We went Thursday night and the place was about half busy. Full inside, but no one sitting at the outside tables. Not much of a wait to get menus and order our drinks. I had the cotton candy lemonade and my husband had the stoned fruit lemonade. Both were delicious and you can get them«spiked» if you want. We tried the pizza fries as an appetizer and it was very cheesy and yummy. Then for dinner I ordered the Mac The Knife with pulled pork added and he ordered the Hot Italian and upgraded to truffle Parmesan fries. The food came out quickly as well. My only complaint was they forgot the pulled pork. I didn’t say anything, but made sure i wasn’t charged for it on the bill, which I wasn’t so I was fine. The Mac the Knife was absolutely wonderful. I loved every bite and the touch of honey in it is what kicked it up to awesome. I am not a sandwich person, but I could eat this on the regular. While my husband liked his Italian melt he said he wouldn’t order it again and would get something more fun next time. We will definitely be back.

Wow! Great local place. Just had my first visit and can’t wait to return. Had the special grilled cheese sandwich called«Here today, gone to Maui»…BEST.SANDWICH.EVER! Perfectly cooked fries, homemade tomato soup, ice cold craft beer… Trifecta. Go there now!!!

I have been here a few times, and have to agree with a previous reviewer that while the owners are delightful and the food is great, the service makes this restaurant only an OK experience, or at least a gamble. Sometimes, service has been good, with a server who is attentive and quick, but many times I’ve had servers who are slow and take their time. The last time we were here, we stated when we arrived that we would be having 7 people in our party. The restaurant was completely empty at 5pm. She walked us over to a 4 top table. I asked if they had larger tables, and she said they did not. I asked if they could push two of the four tops together. Many other restaurants do this for larger parties, and I figured this should not be an issue as the restaurant was empty, and and they wouldn’t be losing money on a party, since a 4 top and 3 top would be sat at two different tables if we split up. She said that was not possible. So therefore, for our entire meal, while the four top table next to us that we requested to be pushed to ours sat empty, our party of 7 sat at a table meant for 4, with a few of us eating from our laps. There was no owner present during this time, as I suspect that she would have been appalled at this. The waitress must have been new and inexperienced because she also under-poured our beers, leaving about an inch and a half of space at the top of the glass. It was an unfortunate experience that tainted our view of the restaurant. We’ll be back, but will never be back with a large party, which is unfortunate as we spent a good amount of money on food and beer.

I was excited to try out 33& Melt because Grilled Cheese! Both my husband & I had the«Mac the Knife» which is smoked gouda, cheddar jack mac-n-cheese, applewood bacon & honey. I did mine without the bacon & my husband added pulled pork to his. The sandwiches were just so-so. The gouda wasn’t even melted on either of our sandwiches and the mac & cheese was a little dry. It could’ve/should’ve been a lot cheesier. It just didn’t have that ooey gooey, melty, cheesiness I was hoping for. Very disappointing.

I love this place! In the mood for grilled cheese or just something a little different for dinner? Try 33& Melt! I have now had the Mac the Knife and The Reserve and both are amazing! It’s actually hard to decide which one I love more. Lol The salad they serve with it is also wonderful! Plus, as it turns out, they do to-go orders. But if you dine in, ask for a glass of their sweet red wine. It’s fantastic! The owner is just lovely and the atmosphere is very relaxed! I highly recommend!

The Good: Sandwiches are great. Beer is good. The Bad: French Fries were not good. The Ugly: The service(except the two lovely brunettes) was terrible. Summary: Replace fries with chips. At least they would not be an objection. Get real servers not friends filling in. I will go back, not for the fries!

Honestly, I’m devastated to be rating this restaurant so low. The owners are amazing, friendly people, the food is delicious, but the service is some of the worst I’ve seen in a while. Just today, my mom and I came to eat dinner. It being a Friday night, the place was busy, so we took a seat at the bar. After 10 minutes of waiting, someone finally came and took our drink order. 15 more minutes. Our food order was taken. We sat for a while, not concerned about waiting considering we only ordered two appetizers therefore the food shouldn’t take too long. However, 50 minutes later we managed to finally flag down a server and make a complaint. Turns out, our food order had never been placed. It’s a shame that such a wonderful restaurant is so unorganized. While the food is delicious, you won’t be catching me back here for quite some time.

Wife wasn’t feeling well so I picked her up some tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. She enjoyed both. I got the sloppy joe grilled cheese which was awesome! Also picked up some tomato soup for me. Great little hidden gem in Summerport!

I like a place that focuses on one thing they do well and stick with it, and who doesn’t like a grilled cheese and its endless variations? I’ve had this place bookmarked for a while now. Problem is, every time I’m in that part of town they’re closed. They don’t open until later most days, so that mid-day grilled cheese was out of the question. I did FINALLY get there one evening. We sat ourselves in the tiny space and were greeted and served by a friendly lady who explained the popular items. The intimate space is casual and comfortable with TV and a small bar. It was happy hour so I splurged on a glass of their house white which was just OK. Next I ordered the Mac the Knife which is a grilled cheese with smoked gouda, cheddar jack mac-n-cheese, applewood bacon, and honey. It came with a small cup of tomato soup(great accompaniment!) and choice of field greens or fries. I chose the greens which were coated with a nice dressing. My impression of this interesting sounding melt was yum! It had an interesting mix of salty and sweet flavors. I just wished there was more of it! Seriously though, for the price the portions are pretty meager. Even with the greens and tiny bowl of soup the sandwich is on basic bread. I was hoping for something more substantial. Flavors were great, portion to price ratio not so great. I would come back just to try all the other delicious sounding melts but would expect to be hungry again in a few short hours! BTW… the restuarant is odd in that it is tucked waaaaaay back in the neighborhood. It’s at the bottom of an apartment building but can only be access from the front. Parking is tough to get on the street. We parked in back and wandered down apartment halls before making it street side.

I’ve had this place bookmarked for several months, so my gf and I decided to finally pass by for an early dinner. It’s a small spot with a few tables and a bar, but the outdoor area seemed like a good place to hang with a large party. We started our meal off with their lemonade and house red wine. I’m not much of a wine drinker so I can’t speak to its quality/value, but the lemonade was tasty. After an extensive look at the menu(I love grilled cheese sandwiches), we ordered their Mac The Knife, Cat’s Meow and Devils on Horseback as an appetizer. The appetizer consisted of dates stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in bacon and then fried before being covered in honey — wow! Sure, at about $ 8 I feel they are priced too high, but they were absolutely delicious. The dates were caramelized and the cheese/bacon combo works perfectly; I’ll definitely try to recreate these at home. My Mac The Knife had smoked gouda, mac & cheese and bacon. The meal came with a small sampler cup of tomato soup(deep tomato flavor) as well as a small salad or fries; I chose the salad and was not disappointed, however my gf’s fries were nice as well. As for the sandwich, I barely saw any bacon, but it didn’t bother me that much because the smoked gouda came across perfectly and the creamy mac & cheese paired nicely against the toasted bread. I only managed to(steal?) one bite from the Cat’s Meow, but the swiss, muenster and tuna salad offered a nice bite. As much as I enjoyed my sandwich, I’m sure I’ll try another on my next trip since just about all of their offerings sounded great. The short distance from home, nice food and very friendly service means I’ll definitely return!

This place got great reviews on Unilocal,so we decided to give them a try. Well, you’re in for a treat. We got there a around 7:40PM. ATMOSPHERE: It’s pretty small. There’s some chairs outside, but no tables outside that I saw. The inside has a bar. There’s a few TVs scattered about. If there’s a wait, you scribble your name, arrival time, party size, and indicate whether you mind whether your party is split up. Big groups may have an issue. The largest table I saw was for six people. FOOD&DRINK: Yum. Everything was very good. I had the Slowpoke Rodriguez, and my husband got the soup & salad combo. There’s a variety on the menu. We will definitely be checking out the appetizers and other menu items. If you have kids, there’s a few things for kids too. There’s happy hour until 6PM, so come early for some specials.(Also, if you check in on Unilocal, you can get a free non-alcoholic beverage with a purchase.) SERVICE: Good service! Our servers were very attentive. It’s a local joint that is in walking distance of our place. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I have eaten here several times by ourselves and have brought along friends and we have never been disappointed! The owners are extremely gracious hosts! I’m actually surprised at the review below that mentioned poor service. We usually go on a Saturday afternoon/evening to watch some college football and enjoy some craft brews or some stonefruit lemonade! As far as the food goes, every sandwich we’ve tried has been delicious. We’ve tried the mac the knife, the buffalo blue, the reserve, the porkster, the fuggedaboutit. All great with our favorites being the buffalo blue and the porkster. We usually opt for the field greens with champagne vinaigrette instead of fries as it is less heavy. The Devils on horseback were delicious as well as the stuffed poppers(tip: ask if the jalapeños are spicy, last time our mouths were on fire but we loved it!). The desserts have always been spectacular, both we have gotten have been cheesecake related. We are both thrilled to have this little yummy establishment in Windermere. The community needs to attract more places like this as opposed to the chains that we see all the time.

Fantastic. A little small, but I’ll bet they expand or move to a bigger spot before too long based on how well they’ve done in such a short time. Mac the Knife is my favorite sandwich by far. Mac and cheese, honey, Gouda and bacon on perfectly toasted bread. The tomato soup dipper that comes with is also exceptional. They have a pretty decent happy hour too. All of this makes me SO happy to have them as our neighbors!

I really could not understand the hype about grilled cheese. Why would I go to a restaurant and pay upwards of $ 7 for a sandwich that I can make at home for less than a dollar? And while I still feel this way about most grilled cheese places(Tom & Chee, for example), 33& Melt is the exception. The fact that this spot is located in the Summerport community really gives it a neighborhood, local vibe — truly a spot for locals and not the tourists we’re all so used to encountering. The appetizers are creative(the pretzel crusted cheese curds were awesome!) and the sandwiches are so much more than normal grilled cheese. Mac the Knife is truly amazing, the soup dipper is really tasty, and the fries are just perfectly hot and crisp. I’ve been a few times now, and have tried bites of other sandwiches — all have been excellent, but I keep returning to Mac the Knife. I’ve had mac and cheese grilled cheese before, but this one is truly top notch.

Creatively concocted grilled cheeses seem to be one of the new food trends coming up, and 33& Melt have some pretty great variations. We’ve been here twice now and tried two different types: Mac the Knife and Slowpoke Rodriguez. Both we got with their organic field greens dressed with champagne vinaigrette, which is a pretty tasty dressing! If they have their Stone Fruit Lemonade, get it. It’s quite a delicious drink, especially if it’s hot outside and you want to offset the warmness of the grilled cheese and tomato soup. They also have a decent selection of craft beers, including those from local brewers like Crooked Can. If they happen to have the cheese curds, also get them! We had those in our first visit, and it was great. We tried the truffle fries in our second visit, and it was decent but oddly under-seasoned. So we’ll likely stick with the cheese curds for an appetizer if it’s available. We are looking forward to trying their other offerings; the Fuggedaboutit is calling our name. It certainly helps that they are friendly and make you feel welcomed there. Just keep in mind that the place is pretty small, so finding a table could potentially be a challenge.

Are here last night and loved it. Arrived around 8pm and sat at the bar. The location is a bit tricky to find, but that’s why GPS exists. We shared the pretzel coated cheese curds that are accompanied by some spicy mustard. Holy moly they were delicious! For our main dish we split the Mac the Knife. So good! Mac and cheese w some bacon and a hint of honey. It was served with a dipping side of tomato soup and a side salad with home made dressing. I loved all of it. There are craft beers that rotate out often. The restaurant is quaint, but inviting and very clean:)

Bring your appetite! Huge, filling portions, very tasty selections! We had the jalapeño poppers, Mac the Knife, Truffle Fries and The Cats Meow. We also had Angry Orchard and Purple Haze beers with our entrees. Next time I’ll remember to order less, but the prices are so reasonable from other places that I thought I had to order more! :) We found an awesome new place and just 5 minutes from home. So happy!!!(But going into a food coma shortly, lol)

This is a small little restaurant located in the Retreat apartment community in Windermere. This place may be small but it is delicious! First it only takes us 2 minutes to walk to it! We went last night after being recommended to us when we moved in a week ago. The menu was decent for a small place. It was clear that their speciality was melts, particularly grilled cheese. They also have sides, a few appetizers, a salad and soup and a kids menu. They also have a drink menu consisting of beer and wine. I noticed as well they have brunch on the weekend 11 – 3. I ordered the croquet monisur which basically is ham and Swiss and I left off the mustard. It was so delicious I didn’t want it to end! Not only was there cheese inside they melted a whole piece on top of the bread. I chose fries and upgraded them to truffle fries for $ 2. My husband had the slowpoke which basically was a taco on grilled cheese. It had avocado and taco meat and jalenpeno’s and cheese. I wasn’t sure if I would like it but I took a one bite and loved it! He was able to do a salad instead of fries. A little surprise was we got a small cup of tomato soup with it, I must have missed that on the menu. Even that was delicious! This place offers happy hour 4 – 7 and we asked the owner and he said it was discounted drinks and miller lite’s were $ 2! We will be back for that! We are really happy we have something so close to us that it really good. It’s small but it quaint and really tasty! I would highly recommend coming especially on a rainy or cold day(if we ever get one) or if you just want some good ol grilled cheese!
