I personally love the OCLS. The librarians are normally friendly and eager to help. They will answer any question big or small that you may have. The one thing that I am adjusting to from back home in NC is the hold system. Instead of picking it up at your home library the OCLS will deliver it to your door step. I have no problem swinging by to pick it up at the library but this does save me a trip. If you haven’t checked out your local library go and swing by! It will be worth your time.

I really love this library. It’s in such a cute little town and is tucked away from the traffic circle. The grounds are beautiful and they have a huge front porch complete with rocking chairs. There are also a few benches to sit outside on a nice day and just a stone’s throw away is a 9⁄11 memorial. The challenge that I have with this library is that the selection of books can be quite limiting, compared to the other libraries in the county. There is a decent collection of cds and DVDs. This library has a decent sized children’s section and a few tables, where people can work or study. Sometimes the parking can be challenging if it is busy. Overall, this is my first library of choice since it is so close to where I live, but they could definitely benefit from adding more books.

A small library to the ones I’m use to but the workers here are really sweet and happy to help you with whatever you need. Not to mention that did you know you could check out up to 100 books? Yeah. Insane, right? I mostly use the elibrary(which is an amazing feature, THANKYOU whoever came up with this idea!) and they have a ton of YA new releases as well as older ones and in their full collections. Seriously the database for this library is mind blowing if you’re into digital reading. And with that you can check out up to 20 titles. TWENTYTITLES. That’s crazy. Love stopping by here after strolling through Farmers Market on Friday’s and just plopping down on the couches in a nicely lit corner of the building and playing on my phone. It’s the little things in life :)

This is what you are looking for in a library. Walking down the path tucked away from the cobblestone streets, you think you will see Andy and Opie settin’ on the porch in the rockin’ chairs. Then you step inside and it is modern yet warm and cozy. The staff is as helpful as can be y’all. If you can’t find it, why they would be sure happy to get it for you. The selection of books here is fantastic and beats anything I can recall in Ocean County, New Jersey(I do have to give a big shout out to the great library of Bayonne, New Jersey — beautiful architecture and an amazing experience). DVD rentals are for a week(A Week!) and a good selection of current choices, though I wish they had a reserve system for them. One great option is the home delivery of books and DVDs — ordered online and delivered by a service right to your door in a sealed bag. I think they used to do this with DVDs but they recently apologized online for not being able to deliver DVDs as it was too expensive. I wouldn’t be surprised if next time I went Aunt Bea wasn’t inside dishing out some homemade peach cobbler.

The Windermere library is kinda hard to find, if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. It’s a white lovely building behind town hall, right off the round a bout. Such a charming and delightful library. This library reminds me of something someone said, I believe it was Walt Whitman–«It does matter where you read.» And this place seems to get that. This library seems to understand the process of reading. Clean space with luscious greenery, shade trees, and a porch with rocking chairs. This is truly reading, and I imagine I will be spending time with my beloved kindle here.. .
