Excellent place. 1) The ½ pound burger with caesar salad is excellent. 2) Great place to eat after hiking Windham or Black Head Range. 3) Service and atmosphere is excellent.

Ran into it while being around(originally we are from Hunter,) and I have to say I am impressed. Service was quick, food was great(not mind blowing… for pretty good for my NYC palate,) only reason I took away a star was bc our server(while very sweet and apologetic) messed up a few things on our order… nothing to be upset about, but it did happen. Will definitely visit again.

Stopped in for lunch and drinks while out in the Catskills last summer with my better half. The place was a chill spot, and food was good, although not really memorable. I had a Quesadilla… I believe. The reason I’m giving this place 4 stars is for the Blueberry Wheat beer they brew in-house. I ordered the beer flight and the Blueberry Wheat and Belgian White were both top notch, especially that Blueberry. I still regret to this day not buying a few growlers to enjoy at home.

The food was decent, nothing to write home about, but the staff was friendly, the service was fast and the ambiance was fun and laid back. The sampler we had wasn’t bad. Their own brews were pretty good especially their café Porter and hazelnut stout. It’s a good laid back place to go after skiing.

Very good wings and fries! The grilled chicken Cesar wrap was ok, way too much wrap very little filling. The service was mediocre at best. We had a fairly large group of about 10 people, but were never given water or silverware. My plate was cleared when I went up to go to the restroom and there was still food on my plate(big pet peeve of mine!). Our waitress was nice but not very knowledgeable of the beers either. The food here was pretty good and the restaurant had a very homey feel to it but do not expect to receive 5 star service. Food — 4 stars Service — 3 stars

After reading previous reviews, I was looking forward to going here. I was disappointed. The service was subpar. The place wasn’t packed. My girlfriend had to ask for a glass of water three times. No napkins or condiments until we asked for them. Our meal came out 3 minutes after our appetizer. Waitress looked at me like I was from Mars when I asked if the«oatmeal cookie brown» beer was an ale or a stout. To be fair, they also served an «oatmeal stout». But, the question went unanswered and I ordered the cookie brown anyway. The food was average. Fries were good. Sandwiches and fries served in a plastic basket with plastic utensils. The potato soup was way too thin. My girlfriend enjoyed her seared tuna appetizer. Best part of our sandwiches was the ciabatta bread. Was going to order a burger, which they are touted for, but the table next to us had burgers and they didn’t look especially special. Beer wasn’t bad and the selection was good. I’m a beer junky and wish we had just come in for drinks. If I could give another half of a star for the beer, I would. But, 3 would be too generous. Over priced and over hyped. Even for a sleepy ski town place.

Food: Good. Had the southern style fried chicken. Taste great. Atmosphere: Good. Ambiance was nice. Very standard ski town bar/restaurant. Waitress: below average. We were done our main courses and were expecting to order dessert. Waitress assumed otherwise and gave us our bill. We told her we’d like to order dessert and she responded with«sorry. I didn’t know. There are 15 other people waiting for tables» with a very snide attitude. As we understand the establishment was busy, customers shouldnt feel rushed out. We ended up ordering dessert and finished.

Delicious Maryland Seafood Cake Sandwich on Ciabatta bun. The salad was iceburg which was below my expectations, but the American IPA is delicious: very hoppy and refreshing. The hot wings are amazing– spicy and crispy. I love the atmosphere, very cozy. The staff did shots on Sunday at 2 pm without any customers which was strange. I am a bartender myself and I understand if a customer buys you shots, but to do them on your own when you’re working was just weird– like the whole staff. Service was okay and I like how they cook the food in an open kitchen setting.

Gastropubs are not my scene and I confess a hostility towards the genre. There. I said it. But I like beer and burgers, and CMB’s craft brews and burgers are interesting and worth a look if that’s your thing, but for my money, their over-hyped bar food is not the best in the region. Sorry. Where to start. The seafood cakes(a rif on Maryland Crab cakes?) were … well. soggy, overpriced, spongy and tasteless crap. CMB’s menu agrees(see: describing these cakes as «crap»). Hey — I’m a real dumbass to miss this Freudian slip on the menu — so shame on me. On the bright side, the bacon cheese burger was very good — big, juicy and cooked to a perfect medium rare on a nice torta roll with crisp bacon and decent fries. But with all the wonderfully sourced local beef available up here, just about any line cook with a spatula and flattop can cook a burger medium rare and give it a nice char with seasoning — and this product will please most of the burger eating public — most of the time. But the other specialty sandwiches we tried(e.g. cuban, pulled pork) were disappointing and had a funky smell and after taste, as if some of the ingredients had turned. Not cool. CMB gets Unilocaled as the #1 restaurant in Windham, but I simply cannot agree; other places nearby do food consistently better. I suspect that the exuberant reviewers who like this place so much are of the ilk that get teary eyed and driven to spontaneous adjectival fumfering while sipping their pint of blueberry wheat. If you share this effervescent quality, don’t walk — RUN to CMB.

We were only here for a few days but came here twice. Once for dinner and once for desert after a local show. Could not have been friendlier. The bartender — Scott was a pleasure to talk to and he worked his butt off. The Rum Punch was outstanding but I had to try some of their brews. The Cream Ale and Heifenweiser were delicious. Deb got an expresso martini and it was too strong for her … so I had to finish it for her. The things I have to do… The food also was outstanding. The portobella burger and I had a hankerin’ for fried chicken. Both very tasty. I really like this place. To bad it’s a 4 hour drive to get there.

First impression walking in at 5:30pm was good, not too many people yet. Nice wood and warm colors. There is seating at a few tables in the bar area, and a separate dining room. We sat in the dining room, had a groupon for a free burger.(Cheese and bacon extra from the«free burger».) Burger and fries very good. The Cuban sandwich however was about the blandest thing I had tasted in a long time. If it wasn’t for the pickle it would have had no taste at all. The texture was really good though. A party of 8 came in and started cursing in front of a mother and two little kids … Morons, oblivious to their surroundings. The service was good, the wait staff seemed to have some experience and had things under control. Quick kitchen. IMHO they should use silverware. I understand the plastic baskets(sort of), but plastic forks and knives? Are you recycling them? Geez get some metal utensils in there! We had a beer sampler(6 small samples of brews) and a margarita. $ 12.00& $ 9.00.(A little overpriced to me, and I guess Happy Hour doesn’t apply to dining room). Overall we will give it another shot at some point.

Stopped in for lunch and to try some of their home crafted beers. The staff was friendly and on top of things. The owner very attentive. This would be a great place to spend an evening after a day of skiing. The menu was rather extensive considering they cooked it all in a 10×8 space. Food was fresh(I had the chicken quesadilla). My favorite beer was their seasonal chai tea stout. Flavorful and smooth. All in all a great experience.

I’ve been here a handful times when I was in the area my friend’s DownHill racing competitions by Windham Ski Resort. It’s a must that I come here when I’m in town. The beers that they brew are fantastic. My friends typically get the Blueberry Wheat and American I.P.A, and I’ve tried Hefeweizen, Belgian White, and Catskill Amber Ale. I’m never disappointed with the selection I choose. Besides the beer and great atmosphere, the food is great! I am stuck on the buffalo chicken wrap. I don’t know what buffalo sauce they use, but it’s the best I’ve had! Spicy and plenty of it!

Our recent trip to the Windham mountains, one of our friends picked this place– it was close to where we were staying and seemed this was the only good option around. This brewery is almost exactly as you can imagine it to be in the mountain. «No ski boots» sign on the front door, friendly crowds with ski jackets taking a shotski. The place has 2 divided sections. In front, there are bar seats with a few booths. Another half is family style tables and chairs for meals. We had dinner at a big table because we had kids, but later moved to a bar area to dance the night away. Friday was a karaōke night, and Saturday they had a live band playing jazzy music. Many beer sections. My favorite drinks are Blueberry Wheat and Belgian White. Food was decent. Everyone’s favorite was«Seared Sushi Tuna Skewers.» We basically came here for this, two days in a row. I also got a sandwich, just a regular chicken sandwich. Service was casual with a friendly manner. Great night spot for dinner/drinks.

Before our recent trip to Windham Mountain, I went to Unilocal in search of a place to get a few drinks after dinner before turning in for the night at our Bed & Breakfast. My search turned up Cave Mountain Brewing Company. After dinner, the hubby and I drove down Route 23 in search of Cave Mountain. We found a parking spot on the street and headed inside. There was a live guitarist playing when we walked inside. Quite enjoyable. The bar area and adjoining booths were all packed, so we kept walking and went into the other room. That room had plenty of available seating so we grabbed a table. The server brought us water and menus. We told her that we came just for the beer. My husband ordered a flight of 6 different beers. I read all the great reviews of the Blueberry Wheat beer, so I knew I wanted to try that. I asked our server if I could get a taste before committing to a whole glass. She was happy to oblige. I really enjoyed the Blueberry Wheat beer so I ordered one. Great flavor! When we were walking into the bar /restaurant, I noticed a sign in the front window that said Thursday night was Ladies Night. Ladies get 2 for 1 drinks. So, upon finishing my first beer, I asked our waitress about this 2 for 1 special. She said she needed to check with the bartender. She came back and told me that it was valid and which beer would I like to get. Since I enjoyed the Blueberry Wheat so much, it was a no-brainer. I ordered a second Blueberry Wheat. Now that was a great deal. We will definitely be coming back here on future visits to Windham. My only regret is that we didn’t find out about this place sooner. One thing that I found a bit weird is that there is a urinal in the women’s bathroom. Not really sure about that. The door for the men’s bathroom was open, and there was indeed a urinal in there too, but that you would expect.

Stopped in for dinner after a day of skiing at Windham and was pleasantly surprised to find no wait, especially since it is just 4 minutes from the resort. Decent food, nothing particularity special. The Beer was great, especially the blueberry wheat beer which was surprising since I normally hate fruity beers. Service was the major downfall. As I mentioned it was not busy when we arrived yet we ordered wings that never arrived, one member of our party didn’t get their beer until after our food had arrived and we had to ask for napkins multiple times before we ended up finding them ourselves.

The Cave Mountain Brewery Co. Is on top of my list to hang out whenever we visit the Windham mountain for skiing. They are the only Brew pub in town and the first in Green county New York that actually brew their own beer. I’m not a beer sommelier, but the beers here are really good especially the blueberry wheat and catskill Amber ale. This place is also great for après ski and aside from brewing beer, they also serve wide variety of commercial bottled beers, cocktail drinks and wines. If you are on the hungry side they serve nibbles, dinner platters, sandwiches and wraps. My favorite appetizer before I head to dinner is the spicy buffalo wings, served with blue cheese dressing and celery. It’s crispy, freshly cooked that made you crave for some more or the cordon bleu bites which is a crispy breaded chicken bites filled with ham and melted Swiss cheese and ranch dip on the side is finger licking good. I love how the staff here are so genuinely welcoming. Attentive but not obtrusive. This place is highly recommended whenever you are in the vicinity.

I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed CMBC before! Oversight on my part as it is one of my favorite places to go when in Windham! First off, although things can get a bit disorganized on busy nights I have found the service to have only gotten better in the last few years. Secondly I am always amazed at the quality of food that comes out of the TINY kitchen! Not that the menu is big or fancy but I have never had a bad meal here. I have loved all the sandwiches that I’ve had(and I’ve had most of them), the fries are thin and tasty plus their chili is just like mom used to make. Do yourself a favor if you are stopping in after some skiing, get an oatmeal stout, an order of fries and a chili and you will be a happy camper! Last but not least… the beer. I have been to a lot of brew pubs, breweries and ale houses and CMBC beers might not blow away a real beer snob but they are fresh, good and sometimes feature some interesting styles. The oatmeal stout is a favorite and while I usually don’t like fruit beers the blueberry wheat is actually very good, sometimes they mix the two and come up with a tasty black and blue. Also, when they are out of house beers to put on tap they usually have some pretty good craft beers to fill in with.
