Indeed, friendly. Seems it’s been a while since reviewed but we thought it was fine & had fun & waitress was very nice. Kids intrigued by ice cream but we were there for breakfast

30 min wait for food??? Waitress comes over to tell me that they are catering to a party of 10, as though that was going to fill. my stomach !!! This place is always so slow. The one in South Portland is better.

I’ve been coming to this location since 2001. I’m really disappointed with the quality and service now. Waiting 10 minutes to be seated when there are numerous open tables, many people standing by looking at us and no one else in line. Waiting 25 minutes for our food to come out.(We hadn’t even ordered an appetizer) The portion sizes have shrunk considerably all across the board. Smaller burgers, fewer fries, super tiny banana splits. The quality of service… my whole family finished eating while I was still waiting for a side of mayo! I hate the new décor. This place used to be cozy and inviting. Now it’s just not. I’m just really disappointed… This used to be a place that I could bring my kids to. Not anymore. Bye bye Friendly’s!

Came here back in October and honestly, didn’t find a problem with the service or the employees! All were very welcoming to my group! We ordered bacon cheeseburgers and waffle fries and it was a good time! First time coming up to Maine from Massachusetts in a while and stopping at this Friendly’s was a good choice. Not sure on why the reviews seem so bad. I’ll be back again on my next trip heading to Sebago!

Took my son out for a special lunch today and was so disappointed. The potatoes in the chowder were uncooked and tough. Then the waitress came up behind our table mid-meal with a giant high powered spray bottle of pink chemical cleaner and sprayed down the table behind us with it. The chemicals went airborne, got on my skin(and probably our food!!!), and made the whole section smell for the next 5 minutes. I understand they have to clean the tables, but there has to be a better way to do that. You’re getting chemicals all over your customers and your food. We quickly paid and left our meals half-finished. Wont be going back anytime soon.

After waiting 15 minutes to be seated in a near empty restaurant(maybe we should have seated ourselves?), we were begrudgingly lead to a table. We were given menus and left. As we waited for a server to maybe bring water or take a drink order, we noticed multiple employees hamming it up with one another. After deciding on our order and 20 minutes of waiting for any service at all, we got up and left. Worst. Service. Ever. We went down the street to pats pizza and had a cold beer and a happy waitress!

It’s sad to say that I frequent here more than I like but with a kid it seems like it should be a no-brainer… The kitchen is almost always SLOW, and service usually is poor. I will say I have had great service from server Pam W. — the only reason I give it 2 stars — stay away from Dawn.

This place is a far cry from the Friendly’s I grew up loving as a kid. I dread it now when my kids want to go here. «Friendly’s» isn’t the quality brand it used to be and still thinks it is. The prices are too high for the sub-par fare they serve. Service is slooooooow and the staff appear to be disinterested in providing a positive experience for its patrons. Thank goodeness for the Ice Cream Dugout down the road, as I get twice as much ice cream for the same price.

This Friendly’s is one of the many reasons why the company as a whole is going down the toilet. The service consistently stinks and I think it is a little crazy that my Fribble and Munchie Mania can take over 50 minutes to make. My advice: Burger King is next door.

I’ve always like Friendly’s but it’s hit or miss sometimes with their service, depending on which location you’re at and what time you go. I walked into the lobby of this one to order a salad and a quesadilla appetizer to go. There was a waitress helping someone else who had ordered something to go as well, but she didn’t even acknowledge my presence. She simply finished with the customer, got some drinks and left. She did not return, or even say«someone will be right with you». Did she go to Friendly University? I waited at the counter. The shift manager was in the kitchen working. She looked my way and stared at me for a good 3 seconds… which is an eternity when you’re waiting for her to say something like«have you been helped yet» or «I’ll be right with you” — which she did not. At this point I decided to resort to strolling around the lobby. Perhaps I’d gather attention. I waitress, whom I hadn’t seen yet, finally stopped and asked if I’d been helped. She proceeded to take my order and was very polite! The Food: The crispy chicken salad has been my favorite salad of theirs for years. I love the egg on it… I know some people don’t think egg belongs on a salad, but it’s great! The quesadilla on the other hand looked as if it had been cooked on an uncleaned grill. The outside had a dingy brown appearance and was flecked all over with bits of charred… stuff. The inside was the same. I tasted the chicken, but it was accompanied by a strong charred flavor from all the little charred bits that peppered the inside. I will go back, but it’s because I’m a hopeless optimist.
