Car was awesome and the service was awesome thanks!!!

The service was great. Shuttle from the hotel waiting for us. The attendant was very personable and upgrade me to a fully loaded jeep grand Cherokee for practically nothing. This truck made my winter trip to Connecticut well worth the slight extra. My wife now wants to buy one so I may not have gotten such a great deal — HAHA. I was confused with the lady at the gate leaving who then asked if I wanted several options enabled on the navigation system. I would have thought this gets done inside. Drop off at the end of my trip was simple and quick as well. Shuttle back to the airport all very friendly. Will use Alamo again.

Alamo was up to it’s usual standards. Check in is easy. They ask if you would like to upgrade or buy other services but they don’t try to «hard sell» them. The return is easy too. I got a nice car for a great price. I can’t ask for more that that.

Worst car rental company ever. Horrible. Asinine policies. Don’t accept debit cards. Website not clear. Worst customer service. Never will go to another Alamo or National.

I reserved and paid for a full size rental prior to my trip to Connecticut. I had a choice of a Nissan Altima, that’s it. After driving it for about 30 minutes my wife found a dirty cup in the door. I tried to was the front windshield and found the wiper blades were worn out, also the front right turn signal was not working. What I found the next morning in the daylight was large scuff marks on the drivers door and roof. I also found a winter glove on the drivers floor, the passenger floor mat missing and a cigarette burn on the drivers side rear seat. Oh, the brakes made noise too.

We needed to rent a mini-​van for a drive to Florida. We asked for a Dodge Grand Caravan when we arrived (because all of the seats fold into the floor) and they pulled one up to the door! The gentleman that helped us at the counter was friendly and helpful and even helped put all of the seats down for us in the pouring rain. The car was clean and we didn’t have to wait. I have not had these experiences with Avis or Budget. This was our first Alamo rental and we’ll go back if we need to rent again.

The car was great but the representative tried to pull a fast one and give me a 2 door vehicle when ordered and researched a better model specific to my luggage needs. He didn’t seem concerned with the paperwork I was holding. He instead tried to upgrade me to an SUV and wasted my time, no doubt resulting in a kickback to him and the company. In the end I stood my ground and got the vehicle I paid for. Keep in mind I was already paying top dollar for a one way rental.
No thanks Alamo. After a lengthy trip across the US I was not in the mood for your games.

Were able to upgrade to a challenger at a price I couldn’t refuse. Service was exceptional and their prices are one of the cheapest around. I would go there again.

This was the cheapeast option, but the best experience I’ve had renting a car from Bradley!

Excellent service ! Rented via our Costco membership. The staff is very friendly, met our needs and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The car was nice (an unexpected upgrade :), reliable and was cost effective on our trip. Shuttle service was efficient, friendly and on time! I’d recommend this Alamo location to anyone. The fact that it’s at an airport makes it busier than usual, but you’d never tell by walking in. It runs smoothly with courteous, calm, helpful staff. Check in and return was quick and painless ! :) Thanks !

From the shuttle ride from the airport to the the it took us to drive away was probably 20 minutes MAX!
The return was even easier! «Here’s your receipt, sir.»

Really bad experience with Alamo. I booked a compact car online with a great deal. The stuff told me that our two carry-​on luggages cannot fit in the compact car, and he cheat me to upgrade the compact car to mid-​size. The price went up from $ 55 to $ 230!!!
Also, NEVER add the fuel prepaid option. Alamo will charge you the full tank fuel fee no matter how many fuel left in the car.

Use rentalcarmomma or Costco travel to rent, AND, join the Alamo «club», whatever it’s called. Definite perks, including free 2^nd driver.
For some reason, the cheapest car when I reserved, was a minivan! (Which was less than any other car I could find anywhere else.) They switched me to a nice Chevy SUV at no additional cost. In fact, when I checked the car in, the price went down from my original quote!
Bottom line? I always check with Alamo first and I’ve never been disappointed. Good service — Good prices.

I had a great experience with the two men at the front desk. They were very helpful and understanding. Shuttle service was great too.
I will use Alamo again.

Rented a toyota camry one way from Hartford to Dulles Airport. No one told me the car automatically locks even if the keys are in it, which is a horrendous feature. Accidentally dropped the keys when I was loading my bag, closed the door, and boom the doors locked. Ended up having to call a tow truck at 4am. Cost me $ 57+ tax and I missed my flight. Just glad I hadn’t put my child in the car already.
Would have been nice to have known that the car automatically locks even if the keys are in it, or if possible, they should turn this feature off. I’ve owned toyota camrys in the past, and I never had this issue.
I contacted them to tell them to warn other customers and request a refund on the cost of the tow, but I still haven’t heard anything. I would not rent from them again.
NEW UPDATE:
After some issues with the customer service, I was contacted by the manager for the CT area. He was very helpful. He refunded the towing fee and was very apologetic on the phone. I realize that things happen, but it is what the company does to resolve those issues that matter. I am now completely satisfied with Alamo after this experience, and I will definitely use them again in the future.

Everything from booking to returning the car went fine. The associate who signed a car off to me actually bumped me up to a better make/​model because I qualified for it, which I really appreciated.
The one thing I really disliked was that when I checked the car in, the final receipt charged me for gas, even though I had filled the tank up before dropping it back. I quickly brought this to the attention of the associate, and the charge was reversed. Just made me think if they charge everyone for gas, irrespective of if you bother to gas up the car before returning it or not.
Good place to rent from, but check the final receipt!

Good Service, Good Experience — I’ve had bad luck with other car rentals providers at BDL, so my hopes were not high. That being said I was pleasantly surprise by the quick pick-​up and short line. It was nice to get in and get out! Car was great. Returning was just as easy. I would definately rent from Alamo at BDL again.

I booked this with a flight through a discount website for September.
I got into the airport late one Friday, and the shuttle arrived pretty quickly. But, when I got there, there wasn’t actually anyone at the Alamo counter, so I had to go to the other counter (National) and wait for someone where. The guy was nice enough, but he basically took my info and pointed in the general direction of the cars. It was dark and I couldn’t really get a good look at them, but I picked one hoping there wasn’t a huge dent in it.
The car itself was fine – decent gas mileage and decent price.
The real issue was the return. So I had a 6am flight and called the day before to ask what the protocol was (no one is at the counter that early), and the call center guy told me to just leave the car and wait for a van.
I get to the lot and it’s like a zombie apocalypse happened there. There were some really bright lights on, an empty car, deserted with its door wide opened, and 80s music playing in the abandoned office (I stood in the rental office while I tried to get someone on the phone at the main 800 number to make sure I was really supposed to leave the car there-​was on hold, and never got through). There were zero directions about where to park and where to put the keys, so I put the keys in the console and hoped for the best.
After about five minutes, the van driver shows up, ranting. Apparently someone was late for work or something, and he spent the ride from the car rental space to the airport complaining about how unreliable everyone was.
Once I got back home, I tried to call the main office to get a final receipt for reimbursement – on the call, she said my car hadn’t been logged in yet (maybe the zombies took it?). The call center person said she’d email it to me once it showed in the system, but it never came. Using the website, I got a message saying it couldn’t find my receipt number (perhaps this is an issue with booking via Hotwire?)
But, the company wants to see the final receipt, so, I had to call a second time, with the ticket number from the first time, and ask this second person to please try to send it again. I did eventually get a receipt this time.
Good price and location, but there were definitely kinks in the system here. Will think carefully about booking again.

National at BDL is an average rental location. Service is not fast, but not slow. Just average. Well, unless you’re returning the car at night (say, 11PM), then service is actually consistently slow because there’s not enough staff.
It’d be nice if they had more selection for Emerald Aisle — when I arrive at the airport, it’s generally all Dodge and one other random car. Just made Executive, let’s see what variety that brings!
