Pine Crest Campground

Due to the rain prior to our arrival unfortunately our site, site 70 which they call the island was a little too wet. So just keep that in mind when booking. Kim and Dan were totally accommodating with offering us another spot on the river with all the amenities we originally had booked. The campground is clean and well maintained. Kim and Dan are very sweet people. You can tell that they care about the campers and the campsites. We stayed over 4^th of July and we were very impressed by the live band that they had. They played just about 4 hours. Pine Crest put on a very nice 15 – 20 min fireworks display. What was impressive, is that you could see the neighboring fireworks displays at the same time. Overall we will recommend this place. The only reason we gave it 4 stars is because there is a seasonal resident with the most annoying golf cart. I can not describe the annoyance of it. Frankly we were really surprised that it’s allowed. Best description would be if a VW Bug was crossed with the motor of a chainsaw. It could be heard throughout the entire campground, so when just wanted to relax watch the river and read a book you couldn’t.

Very pretty view of the lake especially early in the morning. We were looking for a place last minute at night with my husband and came across this. The owner let us check in really late while most places said they were closed. She was so sweet and and waited for us to arrive and than made sure everything was good with our space, gave us directions and all since it was really dark and most of the side roads don’t have good lighting.

Just visited this past weekend on 9.13.
We stayed in cabin 2 on the grounds. Two bunk beds, island seating area with bar stools and storage under bar for food stuffs. Very roomy living space and clean as anything. Spotless coffee pot, toaster, microwave and mini fridge. It got down to 45 that night and without heat, room stayed very warm.
As for the outside, nice picnic table and fire pit right out front. Bathrooms were right next door with showers. Both men and womens restrooms were immaculate! Was almost in shock, but was a nice surprise. The rest of the campground was beautiful, spotless, no garbage lying around. Part of it is on the Susquehanna river, and even with many active RVs on the water, literally no garbage, not even a cigarette butt to be seen.
Most importantly, the owner Kim was beyond hospitable. So kind, and wanted to make sure our every expectation was met, and it really was. Everyone staying there is also extremely friendly, which was nice too.
We went for a pow wow just south of the grounds, but we will for sure be visiting before the next one.
Just keep in mind you need to bring all your own stuff like linens, pillows and kitchen gear, but its well worth it for the price!

We RV in a 25′ travel trailer. Our stay in PineCrest was simply wonderful. From working with Kimberly to make the reservation, to our stay there, everything was terrific. The owners genuinely care about their guests.
What we liked the most was the view on our campsite. We were right on the river but maybe what we like most was the size of the campsite. We stayed in site 79. The campsite was literally huge, especially when you consider this is a riverfront site. They could be greedy and double up those prime spot, but they don’t. If you can get 70 that site is riverfront and secluded.
We kayaked the river for about 10 miles. The locals at the campsite were very friendly and very helpful, helping us find good launch points.
We also got some golf in at a nearby course, golden oak. Very nice course, well run, a little short but fun and in great shape.
Firewood was $ 6 per bundle and the bundle size is generous. The place is very clean and the restrooms were spotless.
The only minor quibble is the room to back in your trailer, there is none where we were. If the site across was occupied, not sure what we would have done.
All on all, we had one of our best camping weekends thanks to pinecrest and Kimberly. Thank you for a wonderful time.

We chose to stay in a trailer that we were able to rent. It was a tossup between a trailer or a cabin and we chose the trailer because it sat right on the river. When we woke up Saturday morning, we brewed coffee and walked over to the Susquehanna river and enjoyed the view with our drink. Overall, it was spacious and it did the job of what you wanted when you go camping.
One the best things is the great location, it was easy to find and from where we live, it was pretty much an easy drive. Once you traveled down the path to the site, you were clearly off the beaten path and into a nice quiet, peaceful setting. That’s what I look for when it comes to camping.
The rates were affordable.
There is plenty to do, if you want to be active, from boating, to hiking, to fishing or if you just want to relax, you can do that too. It’s all what you want to do at this site.
The owners were great hosts and we are looking forward to going back when we can.
