Saucy Hog is a company that sells their own locally made BBQ sauce in bottles to local markets and then they will also cater events and set up stands at local festivals. they have a pulled pork spiedie sandwich that i have yet to try but it sounds like it could be good. unfortunately, the menu is very limited, for meat they only have pulled pork, spiedie style or with their BBQ sauce, and then for sides they have coleslaw, mac salad, and baked beans. i tried the mac salad and the beans. the mac salad had no flavor and the beans seemed like generic canned beans but with bbq sauce added. as for the meat, i’m not a fan of this style of pulled pork, essentially it’s a pork sloppy joe, shredded meat drowning in sauce. the sauce overpowers the flavor from the meat and makes everything way too sweet, and the pork kinda tones down the flavor of the sauce too, it’s a lose/lose situation, bbq is supposed to be a condiment! less is more, use the sauce to compliment the meat instead of hide it, because their sauce actually is pretty good, but since there was so much of it i couldn’t even tell if the meat was smoked. they had a smoker next to their tent but there was no smoke coming out of it, so i think it was just for show.
