If you’re a Dentist hater, I’m sure you have your reasons, and yet I’ll bet it’s not actually dentists you hate. It’s all the stuff a dentist does that creeps you out — the drilling, filling, and billing parts. Who can blame you for that? A dental chair can combine the sum of all fears… with pain, needles, doctors, confined-spaces, loud noises. It’s no big surprise so many people hate going to the dentist. Being afraid of the dentist means different things to different people. Maybe it’s the thought that treatment will hurt, or that the sounds and smells bring back memories of bad experiences as a child. «Some people have such bad dental phobia that they haven’t seen a dentist for years. It’s common to hear from someone in their twenties or thirties or even older who hasn’t been to the dentist since childhood. This was me. The good news is that Dr. Steven Scott understand his patients’ fears. I interviewed Steven and his staff three times before I sat in his chair, and to be completely honest, the first time I was so scared. But with a combination of kindness and gentleness he can do a lot to make dental treatment stress free. I have been his patient end for over 3 years, and I’m coming up to being completely finished with my treatment plan. He and his staff are the best in the business. You can get an appointment at 6am or 7pm Mon –Wed. The chairs he has are the top of the line. He has tvs in all the ceilings too. And the high tech full X-ray machine is just awesome. He and his team really work with their patients so you can fully understand what it’s going. To cost before you do it. He also takes just about every insurance. I strongly recommend Steven Scott and his team for all your dental needs. Tell them Chef Marc Sent you.

I was in serious pain and needed a root canal. Dr. Scott’s office returned my call before the office even opened and got me in within three hours of my call Monday morning. The entire staff is wonderful, and both Dr. Scott and his son are great dentists. I have been to a few dentists in Windsor over the years and my decision to stay with Scott Family Dental has not disappointed!

I hate going to the dentist! Absolutely hate it! Only because I have had horrible experiences in the past with several different dentists. It got to the point where my mouth was a wreck because I wouldn’t go to the dentist even for a cleaning for several years. I couldn’t take the pain anymore so, I looked up local dentists and found Scott Family Dental. I was immediately put at ease by his front staff. When they took me back, they didn’t make me feel bad for not seeing a dentist for years. They listened to my concerns, eased my fears and cleaned my teeth. Dr. Scott was very professional, and gentle! Over the course of the past 2 years, he has helped me get my mouth back in shape! I have had a couple of root canals and crowns, root planning and deep cleaning. Each time, he has made sure that I am good an numb and he always does a thorough job. His dental assistants are all very kind and have always made me feel comfortable. I just came back from my very last restorative dental procedure this morning, replacing a failed crown from a previous dentist. My 21yo daughter also hates going to the dentist, and she is also amazed at how great the dentist are at Scott Family Dental. She had her wisdom teeth pulled and didn’t have to be put under. She was in and out in less than an hour and healed up really fast! I am so thankful that we found Dr. Scott! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an exceptional dentist!

At the age of 53, I have now been to many dentists in my life(maybe a dozen). I have to say that Dr. Scott, Dr. Kuo and the entire staff(from receptionists to accounting/billing to dental hygienists) are top notch! They are expecptionally good at what they do and they all work together like a finely tuned machine. Not only are they nice, friendly and super efficient but they have a state of the art modern facility. They have a no nonsense style that gets right to the heart of diagnosing your dental needs and then analyzing your insurance plan to make recommendations on what options you have for treatment. For this type of a first class operation I would expect to pay full price, but they have some of the most reasonable fees around. Trust me when I say that I have compared their fees with many others… I am a father of 4 and with 6 people in our family I have dealt with just about every type of dental procedure you can think of over the past couple of decades. They say you get what you pay for, but in the case of Scott Family Dental you have the exception to that rule… a first class operation for sure.

Dr. Steven Scott performed a root canal on me. Before the procedure, I told him I had never had a root canal and that I was trusting his expertise to do it right. Perhaps I could have been more tactful, because his subsequent behavior makes me wonder if he resented my honesty. He has a TV screen on the ceiling for patients to look at during procedures. While I was watching a movie, and for no apparent reason, Dr. Scott took the remote and advanced the movie several scenes, then went back to working on my tooth. He did this again later, again for no apparent reason. I thought it odd, but didn’t object. Later I would characterize it as passive-aggressive behavior. After he finished the root canal, he stood, removed his gloves and mask, and just left the room, without so much as a word to me. By the next day, I was in excruciating pain and couldn’t even eat. I called the office and the receptionist called Dr. Scott at home. He told her to tell me to take Advil and Tylenol for the pain. That worked for about three hours, then the pain would come back. The next day I called again and reported the ongoing pain. Though I never spoke with him, he phoned in a prescription for Ampicillin(?), an antibiotic. Several days after I started taking the prescription medication, I began to feel better. Although the acute pain is gone, I now have trouble eating hot and cold foods and those that are sweet or sour. This was not the case before I had the root canal. I can’t be sure that Dr. Scott did anything wrong, but if nothing else, he exhibited unprofessional behavior. I have an appointment for a routine cleaning in five months, but I intend to cancel it and will look for another dentist.
