The first time I tried Two Shepherds wine was at an open house wine tasting in Sonoma in 2011 and I absolutely loved their grenache/syrah/mouvedre blend. William now makes several other varietals/blends, such as the delicious, food friendly Grenache Blanc. He knows everything there is to know about Rhone varietals and has introduced me to some varietals that I had never heard of… Trousseau Gris anyone? :-) it is a great destination spot because there are also cider and spirits producers in the same block!

I’ve been following Williams wine making since he had a «few» barrels in his garage. Then his hobby was taken to the next level… Watching him create a label, a brand, and a true following makes me so happy. I love it when friends succeed. I love the light style, and unobtrusive manner in which he crafts his wines. Lower alcohol & bright acidity make every one of his wines 100% food friendly. Each grape variety has its own personality, and William doesn’t try to make a grape something That its not. He lets the fruit speak to him, and the results are incredible. His fruit sources are top notch, and his new production facility is excellent!(Dog friendly, yay!) So happy & honored to be a flock member.

I found out about this winery a long time ago, following the owner on Twitter. Every time there was a chance to taste his wines, I went for it. Such beautiful wines! One of my early favorites was the Grenache Blanc. I feel like I learn something new about wine, Rhones in particular every time I visit & learning about wine is half the fun for me when tasting. I absolutely love the wines and am really happy with their new tasting room.

Two Shepherds Winery is truly a hidden gem in Sonoma County. The wines are made in a light, elegant style that truly allows you to understand and appreciate the difference between grape varieties and styles. Winemaker William Allen strives to allow the wines to express the variety, year, and location of the grape. Tasting with William is a wonderful experience whether you know a lot about wine or are just getting started. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and it is clear he has a passion for winemaking and introducing people to his wines. You may taste wines you have never tried or even heard of before, but you will not be disappointed!

Superb producer of Rhone varietal wines. If you’re looking for wines made in a restrained fashion without being clobbered by oak, then Two Shepherds is for you. William takes great care in each of his wines, and he stays in touch with wine club members. On my first visit, he made time to match up with my schedule for a 1 person tasting. Highly recommended!

Two Shepherds wines are among my favorites. They do traditional Rhone Varietals and William is always trying his hand at new blends and grapes. He truly loves his craft and it shows in the wine. If you go in for a taste, he will personally explain each of his wines to you and really educate you about what he’s doing. The wines are great and so is the experience.

If you are a fan of Rhone style wines then these are a must have in your cellar. These wines are made with a passion seldom seen or tasted in massively produced wines. The winemaker, William Allen, is as hands on as it gets. He is there from start to finish. Most of the wines are sold via direct list with a small percentage offered via their website and via select merchandisers. Great juice at an affordable price!

I’ve followed Two Shepherd wine and William Allen since he made his way to Sonoma County back in 2008. It’s been great to see this idea develop into a small winery and a thriving business! If you take the time to make a reservation and visit, you will not be disappointed! As a fan of Rhone varietals I cannot pass up the opportunity to try each of William’s new vintages. Great value for the price and always a fantastic experience! Don’t forget to bring your pup! It’s a very dog-friendly winery!

Great wines! With a passion for Rhone varietals, Two Shepherds will make you think twice about buying mass-produced wines ever again. And they have an adorable winery dog! Who doesn’t melt at the sight of a cute furbaby?

Bought some whites from Bottle Barn. They were all fizzy, and off. Floaties too. Down the drain they went. I gave the reds away… I’ll see what my wine expert friend says.
