Well, if you want a sad burger, go here. I was so disappointed because I’ve heard people around town rave about how good their burgers are, but I wasn’t impressed. The buns taste like cheap Wonder Bread buns, the burgers are very thin, I got a few pickles, a little dab of mustard and that’s all. Honestly if I wanted a sad little burger I’d go to McDonalds. The fries weren’t bad. But really, 20 $ for three burgers, three fries and two drinks, and the burgers being how they were, I felt kinda cheated. So I was very disappointed in Burger Station. I mean if you like them, that’s cool, but personally I don’t want to go back. The service, just to quickly add on, was quick and the people in there were nice enough, but the food was just not good in my opinion.

Great local place. you can smell the tasty burgers blocks away. They have really good fries too. Need to eat them within minutes of getting them to get the full flavor. take away only.

This place is awesome! Exactly what you want in a little burger joint. I got the double and fries, was super cheap. The burgers have fried onions, and they grind their meet every morning. What can you say other than the place has been open for 60+ years so they’re doing it right. Got a suggestion on the potato salad on the way out. I’ll try that next time. EATHERE!!!

I was very excited to try The Burger Station. I have heard about it for a couple of years. The reviews looked great. Maybe I should have payed more attention to the often used word, «basic» in the reviews. The people were nice. My order was correct. The food was hot. I’m reaching for something else positive… Cheap Wonder Bread style bun. I couldn’t taste the meat. The grilled onions that come standard on a burger are very thin and stringy. Tomatoes and lettuce are not available. The fries resembled McDonald’s, but they weren’t as good. I would have expected fresh cut style fries here but it looks like they settled for a commercially prepared variety. Ho hum. This place is nothing special. If that’s your thing, you’ll love it.

So. Normally we don’t bother stopping to eat anywhere as we’re driving through KS, but today I really wanted food. Noticed this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Waiting line still packed at 1pm, but quick friendly service. We got 2 cheeseburgers(his with jalapeños) and our total was just $ 5.40. Burgers were delicious. Then paper thin grilled onions were awesome. Worth stopping at again.

This place is an institution. Well worth the history, if nothing else. Much better burgers than any fast food.

The Burger Station makes the only hamburger that I actually crave. The regular burger is pretty simple with pickles, yellow mustard and grilled onions on a soft bun. I think the grill is the actual secret ingredient that gives this burger its outstanding taste. Like many from around the country, every time I’m in Kansas to visit my family I always stop at the Burger Station. You should, too. I will be back!

So damn good. Love me some burger station! Cheese burgers are the best around. Greasy in all the right ways.

It’s an artery clogging institution that I frequent all too often. Burgers are small, basic, and packed with incredible flavor. Even though they’ve been in business since the 30s, the place is clean as a whistle! Crew is always prompt, nice, and orders are always accurate.

Great thin patty burgers. Good prices and yummy food. Ask for the fries extra crisp.

Any time you leave a burger joint and the bag is a greasy dark brown on bottom from the contents, you know it is going to taste amazing. That pretty well sums it up. Burgers taste really good.

STILL the best hamburger, hands down, of any I have ever eaten!!! From California to New York, the Burger Station or for you really old ones, Van’s hamburgers are GREAT. Grilled onions so thin, mustard and dill pickles… I am ready to drive back so for a burger in a sack and a drive through Island Park. Keep up the great work Burger Station.

Don’t be fooled by the lack of accommodations(carryout only), this local favorite may be small in size but the burgers are big on taste. And the price is nice too. Many call it the best burger in town, and being around for several decades, they’ve certainly got the history to back it up. Cooked fresh right in front of you. You won’t be disappointed.

If for some reason you ever find yourself in Winfield, Kansas(They have an excellent annual bluegrass festival from what I hear) be sure to stop by Burger Station if you’re a fan of small local burger joints… You know, the kind that are served in white paper bags that become transparent from the grease on the car ride home… And while these are by no means the best burgers on the planet, they are nevertheless damned tasty! My favorite is the chili cheeseburger with grilled onions. You can order from a single to a triple patty, depending on your hunger level.(Triple Chili-Cheeseburger, memorize that and you won’t be dissapointed!). Greasy fries too, that’s about it… nothing fancy, not a lot of options, just straight up, right to the point delicious burgers!
