Great place, family owned, attentive staff. Love, love, love the Greek Pizza and Caesar Salad. Terrific duo performing in the back room as we ate. Have been there numerous times, have never been disappointed.

My wife and I tried Monk’s Pizza today for lunch it was very nice great atmosphere very clean we split a small cheese and sausage pizza and each had a small salad also a small order of cheese bread sticks and a drink everything was really good. Service was good the owner came by the table to check on us this won’t be our last time to eat there.

This is my second time eating from this establishment. The first time was a to go order of tomato basil soup and barbecue chicken pizza, which was simply wonderful. The second time we dined in, again ordering the barbecue chicken pizza. The food was again a delight; unfortunately, our server was not. Megan seated us and took a while to come back and take our order even though it was not very busy; we actually had to ask to place our order. On top of that Megan appeared annoyed by questions about the menu when this has to be a usual part of her job. She was unpleasant. Service is such a huge part of the dining experience, hopefully Megan will be trained or get more experience, or a better night’s sleep.

I had the opportunity to dine at Monk’s Oven one evening back in September. It was a Saturday, fourteen minutes past seven. We were a party of four. The restaurant was nearly full and bustling with patrons, however we were seated quickly in the front half of the restaurant. After being seated, I quickly realized why the front of the house had more seating available than the back of the house. The sun shines blazingly bright in the front half, so most of the guests already knowing that fact were asking to be seated in the back of the house. It is nearly unbearable if you are the one facing the window full of the western sun. Though there is a shade on the window, it does not block out the sun enough not to be terribly distracting. Once the sun set, it was most enjoyable. I ordered a large Caesar salad and a slice of thin crust supreme pizza. The Caesar salad was fresh, crispy, and delicious, and dressed perfectly. The salad was crowned with several garlic flavored croutons; not my thing. The supreme pizza slice was VERY generously portioned. The crust was cooked perfectly and the pizza was scrumptious. For my beverage, I had a glass of ice water and it was cold and wet, as any reasonable person would expect. All of the food and drink were delivered in a timely fashion. The waiter was a young gentleman that did not pay attention when he was told in the onset that there would be separate checks. Other than some confusion at the end of the meal with having to straighten out the checks, he was reasonably attentive throughout the dining experience. My slice of supreme pizza was $ 6.50 and the large Caesar salad was $ 4.75, all of which I considered to be reasonable. Monk’s Oven is worth the drive to Winnsboro for something different and a change of scenery. #MonksOven

I love this place. If I could bring it with me to California I would. The atmosphere is neat. The service was amazing. I ordered the butternut squash soup. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to butternut squash soup and I though it was amazing! We had garlic parmesan chicken wings. I am not a huge chicken wing fan but my dad said they were very good. We got the greek pizza. You can tell the ingredients are very fresh. It has very bold flavors. After you finish eating it you can taste in your mouth(not like a bad after taste). I would recommend this pizza to anyone who like bold flavors. My dad and I got a small pizza and it was a perfect size for us.

Good artisan pizza that’s a little overpriced. Service has been spotty on a couple visits. Always friendly, but food can be quite slow coming out of the kitchen. Enjoyed the pizza, but they just weren’t impressive enough to make it into my regular rotation.

I am addicted to the Greek pizza! Great atmosphere, décor and staff. The bathrooms are«brothers», «sisters» and«congregants»(Monk’s Oven… get it?) They regularly have specials with locally grown produce +++++

Great pizza and salads here, very friendly owner & staff, fresh ingredients, not your typical small town pizza joint. In fact it’s a pretty special place.

First time at this place and it is awesome. Stumbled on it in the way to the texas bass master. Hands down the best pizza in a 60 mile radius. Service is great and it is very clean. The price is reasonable. Come check it out you will not be disappointed.

Monks Pizza, or as the sidewalk sign says«Mo’s Pizza», is predominately located on a busy small town street, so just face it, park where you can, and then take a short walk by the interesting shops located along the covered sidewalk. This warm restaurant with a theme that includes stained glass windows, offerings and beer, is inviting and true to Monk history. Monk’s Oven is a comfortable space, with a family atmosphere, providing board games, a bar seat window facing the patio and two large dining rooms both with up to date USB port electrical outlets at the tables. We were greeted warmly and promptly on a busy Tuesday during a lunch rush. The menu was easy to read and offered some special treats that left my lunch group of three highly satisfied, glad we came and wanting to return. I recommend the small Greek salad as it rivals any Greek salad I have ever had. My lunch buddies both had The Greek by the slice and were highly satisfied. The supreme pizza by the slice was covered in fresh toppings, and the crust was baked to crispy perfection and I enjoyed every bite. Just fyi, the iced tea is really, really good. You gotta eat here. Be ready to wait about 20 minutes for the pizza, as it is made fresh and well worth the wait. Bring someone with you to visit with and order a salad to help pass the wait time. I really liked this place and hope you get the chance to enjoy it too. There is also gluten free crust. I will be back several times!

Had a great lunch at Monk’s Oven the day after Christmas. We were headed out of town after Christmas with the in-laws and thought to stop downtown for lunch. So glad to find Monk’s Oven open, as we’d been meaning to eat there for a while now. The restaurant is divided into two dining rooms, the front, which has large windows and faces the street, and the rear dining room with no windows, but plenty of room and a very tall ceiling. The rear dining room looks like it could seat groups of 15 with no problem. We ordered two small Caesar salads, which we excellent. We watched the waiter put them together from a small salad station behind the counter. No pre-made salads is a big plus for us. After salad, we split a large Supreme pizza, which came out with a very thin and crispy crust that was cooked perfectly. There were plenty of toppings and it was presented on a raised wire rack on the table so there was plenty of room for our plates. I’d order the Supreme again, but next time I have my eye on the Greek pizza with pesto and olives. There are electric outlets and USB power ports at each booth and the tall bar across the front windows is full of games to play(checkers, backagammon), so it’s nice to find a place that isn’t trying to rush you out the door. Overall we were very pleased with Monk’s Oven. Winnsboro needs more places like this downtown and judging from the crowd in there others agree.
