This apartment complex is the kind that’s good to live in… until you have an issue. When I first moved in, my rent was supposed to be $ 555, which didn’t account for the $ 50 cable connect fee, which essentially gives you only basic cable and eliminates your cable provider decision, as well as making it way too expensive to upgrade to a digital cable box(which can be an additional $ 30 per month on top of what you ended up paying Time Warner for internet). Fast forwarding to when I moved out, apparently my connect fee was«thirty days in arrears,» so they ended up charging me two months worth of the fee. This charge is annoying, but it’s still not the big issue at hand. Within the first month of moving in, I saw a few centipedes and immediately called for pest control attention. It seemed to get better, and I was relieved. Then, I started to see another bug that I thought was a centipede a lot more often, and sometimes once a day. Long story short, I found that I had a silverfish infestation because of the attic that my unit had, and because it was not diagnosed early, the infestation could not be eliminated while I still lived there. The reasons given related to safety limitations for treating an apartment too often, but honestly if they had paid better attention to my issues when I first brought them up(I.e. Placing bug traps sooner or communicating with me directly to tell me what information they needed), then I believe the issue would not have escalated the way that it did. Side note: I won’t even mention how the air/heat blows out of one big vent in the living room(to the point that the big«bay» windows fog up), and you’re either burning up or freezing. I’m also not going into detail about the mold around the windows, or the general aged appearance of the walls and features. To add insult to the SEVEN months of injury related to my pest control problems, after I moved out in May, I called multiple times to ask when to expect my move out bill and if it could be sent to my new address. Around July 4th, I finally thought to check the resident portal online and discovered a bill for which I had been sent no notifications that showed what seemed to be some duplicate charges(I.e. Water from April to June and water from May to June). I called and spoke with Leah, who said that she would review with the manager and call me back after the holiday. I called a couple of times(during business hours) in the week or so after but didn’t think too much about it… until I got a collections notice dated on July 7th. Please consider other apartments in the area if you can afford it, because you’ll end up paying pretty much the same amount after fees and everything else at The Corners.
