Ugh so disappointed! I came here to pick up a lunch order and ended waiting an additional 25 minutes when the place had about 5 people in it. I’m used to the attitude from the workers there but today was ridiculous. I had to repeat my order a few times because she didn’t understand what I was trying to say. There were a crowd of guys playing pool and catcalling in the front when you walked in. That was fun and disgusting. I stood at the counter waiting for my food. I overheard one of the workers tell a table that they were having a special of 4 pupusas for $ 5 which is the special they run on Thursdays. Yet I was charged the full $ 7 and when I asked a worker if they had a special going on, she said no. Really??! They just choose who to give special deals to? My husband and I spend at least $ 30 every time we go there and we go there a few times a month. After today though, I’m not sure we will be going back. It’s such a shame because their food is so delicious. The yuca frita with chicarron is another favorite but they pork has been having a massive amount of fat with it and it’s never even crispy. For $ 11 I expect there to be more pork and less fat and crispy!

This has been on our list of places to try for quite some time and I’m glad we finally did! I can’t say I am a connoisseur of El Salvadorian food, but it all felt pretty authentic to me. We ordered the pupusas, alcapurria and maduros. All the food was obviously made fresh and delicious! We both loved their salsa verde! I should really see if they sell that next time we go. We ended up ordering too much and taking some as leftovers — which were gobbled up not too long after we got home. The restaurant itself screams Latin America — it’s colorful, lively, minimalistic, with spanish music or TV on in the background. Almost forgot I absolutely love horchata and really enjoyed the horchata at Cuchifritos. It wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet or syrupy and had a nutty ‘ish’ aftertaste. I think we spent less than ~$ 25(more than enough food for two, two beers and horchata). Inexpensive, tasty, off the beaten track = awesome date night for us!

Yes yes and yes again! I cannot wait to eat here another time. The rice was delish, and the pollo guisado was plentiful!

Delicious food and great service! You can’t go wrong with the pupusas! The yuca and chicarron were also the best I’ve had anywhere else! My new favorite place to eat!

Had an order of 4 pupusas($ 5) Two of them were beans and cheese, and the other 2 had pork and cheese. The green salsa verde was spicy, and the red sauce tasted like tomato sauce, with a little salt and pepper(kind of bland tasting). This is not the first time I’ve had pupusas, and I’ve realized that I’m not a big fan of them.

Love this place. Great food, great family run business. Fried whole fish, carne guisada, pupusas, all terrific.

First time visiting Cuchifrito’s Restaurant, ordered to go. Got a few things, always do when I’m trying a new place. Best to have a backup, just in case. The Bistec Encebollado(Sirloin Steak with Caramelized Onions) was good, simply seasoned, if a bit dry. Was served with a generous portion of yellow rice and a side salad. Solid meal for $ 11. Pupusas Locas, order of 4 for $ 7. Warm, gooey, and yummy! It’s a corn tortilla stuffed with cheese, pork, and vine flower(?). Don’t ask, I have no idea. Eating all of those could be a filling meal in itself! Served with a spicy pickled cabbage, and a simple tomato sauce. Least favorite item was the Pastelillos Pollo, $ 2. It was good, but definitely dry. Needs a moister filling, or a sauce to dip. All in all, I’d try them again. And, hey, they deliver?!? That’s almost unheard of in my neighborhood. Now that I have a to-go menu, I’ll figure out what to try next.
