Flashback Smoothies + Grill

Lunch on Saturday, A1 service with a smile. We had Hotdogs and a cheeseburger. Both were okay, taste not exceptional. Did not get to try the shakes or smoothies. They look good.

I can’t say enough good things about this shop! The smoothies and food are just so good. The owner is almost always there and is very friendly. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like, the burgers are some of the best in town, and the staff are friendly. Great prices, and they even have a $ 3 smoothie/​food day every Thursday.

This is a good spot for a quick lunch or to grab a smoothie. The hotdogs aren’t bad but they don’t seem to be grilled which I think is really odd. They also sell cheeseburgers so I am guessing they have to have a grill back there. The smoothies are good and they have a decent variety of flavors to chose from.
The service is always pleasant enough but nothing to exactly rave about. The metered parking spots in front of the building are usually pretty open so you could have no problem finding parking here. It is right by the corner of Burke Street.

If you weren’t looking, you would walk right past this place and never notice it. It’s tucked away on Brookstown Ave. in a small store front. There are probably only six seats in the entire place to eat your food, and four are outside. I guess Flashback’s caters to the business crowd and those getting food on the go.
For a small place, Flashback’s has a decent menu selection. You can get hot dogs, burgers, shakes, wings, sandwiches, and smoothies. The dogs can come with multiple toppings (chili, slaw, etc) and most don’t cost extra.
The shakes are made with Blue Bell ice cream which is pretty good in my book. It’s not a Cook Out shake but still decent. The dogs are okay. You have to run a piss poor shop to screw up a dog so anything outside of a gas station dog should be 3 stars.
The man running the joint was friendly and helpful. No issues with the service.
Here’s the deal. The food is fine. If you are in West End and want to grab lunch then I can recommend this place. It’s a little on the high side but not too bad. A dog and shake cost me $ 8.
The five star reviews are a little high in my opinion. I’m not knocking my fellow Unilocalers but either I showed up on a down day or the previous reviews are a little generous.

I went here with a group of friends after lunch at Mozelle’s one day. I asked about their nutritional information, and after hearing the calorie content in one smoothie I said, «no thanks,» since I had just splurged at lunch.
The owner said, I can make you one, with all fruit that will be about 100 calories. I accepted and it was delicious! It was perfect on the hot day and made me feel great.
I really appreciate this kind of service, when they are willing to go above and beyond for their customers. I can’t wait to go back!

Great atmosphere. Awesome Toasted Pink Hotdogs! AMAZAZING!!! Great people. My wife loves the milkshakes. Says they are marvelous.
