I had a great first visit to Jugheads. I love the atmosphere especially since I currently can’t drink. We’re able to bring our dog and she had a fabulous time as well. My husband and I played some games and talked to several people. He tried a beer from Black Mountain and really enjoyed it. They have a great deal on make your own six packs so we will probably get that in the future as well as filling up our growler. One of the couples we were talking to mentioned you can have a flight of beer for $ 4 which is awesome. I did enjoy dessert from the food truck that was there. One bonus is they have covered parking so on rainy nights you will not get wet.

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I have driven by several times, but never come inside. Its in an old gas station that has been transformed into a laid back, friendly bar right near Kimono on Country Club Road. I love how they have outdoor seating, large standing heaters and corn hole to play as you hang out and listen to music with friends. The inside is nice with low lighting and a long bar that only has local NC beers and ciders on tap! I loved that you could sit at the bar, grab a comfy chair with friends or just walk in to grab a few brews. The music was nice in the background, but not too loud to make it hard to hear. They have a large chalk board behind the bar to display what is on tap and you can buy beer by the glass, bottle, can or even growler. The arrangement of local beers includes one of my favorites, Burial Beer from Asheville. They only distribute to 2 places in NC that I’ve found, JuggHeads and Stella Brew. I was waiting for Burial’s Skillet Donut Stout for several days and finally it arrived. I simply saw it online and called to make sure I wasn’t imagining this LOL The shelves were packed with many various beers including another favorite of mine, Wicked Weed, also from right outside of Asheville, NC. They also had Foothills, Triple C and even Ass Clown. So glad I stopped by and can’t wait to return! They had several growlers, glasses, and local snacks as well which is great. They served the Skillet Donut Stout with a donut hole from Vortex Donuts in Asheville! The staff was very nice and helpful in explaining the wide variety to us and also offering a few suggestions. Win-win for me! What a great way to start the weekend if you ask me. :)

Great place to hang out, grab a beer and watch the game! Lots of great NC beers on tap and even more in bottles. Big bar with plenty of seats. Tons of board/card games to play. I just wish we lived closer so we could come more!

Coming from San Diego, I’m a big believer in drinking local. San Diegans are so fiercely loyal to their local county brews that those that dare to sell out to the man are quickly shunned in favor of indie beers. On a recent visit to Winston Salem, it was good to see the spirit is alive and well in the Piedmont Triad. Juggheads takes pride in only offering North Carolina beers. Their wall of taps is impressive on its own, but they also have a robust bottle shop selection, as well as a curated collection of refrigerated bottles ready for consumption on premises. Located in a converted gas station, Juggheads offered a. Large outdoor seating area to go along with several couches and high tops to make your binge drinking more comfortable. While I was disappointed not to see some well known breweries like NoDa on tap, I also have no idea what kind of distribution they are offering outside of Charlotte. I had a great«double session IPA» that was double hopped but still had a sensible 4.9% ABv by Unknown Brewing. So good in fact that I took a growler of it home with me. For future trips to Winston, a visit(or many visits) to Juggheads is now mandatory. Not to mention that it’s virtually next door to Little Richard’s BBQ.

One of the best places to join friends and hang out. They have one tv in the bar but numerous board and card games. The atmosphere here is encourages you to put your phone down and actually interact with one another. I come here at least twice a month and it never disappoints. They usually have a great food truck every Friday and Saturday. I make sure I show up when Gus from the Rib Shack is there and Food Freaks. If you want good North Carolina only brewed beer, then this is your place.

Jugg Heads is your typical«don’t just a book by its cover» scenario. On the outside, it looks like just a converted gas station(which it is), but the inside has been made into a nice place to spend time with friends over a pint. They have gluten-free options on tap(mostly cider) as well as in bottle(Omission, Wicked Weed gluten-freek); they also have wine for purchase. Their focus is on NC beers, and I appreciate the value of keeping it local. I was pleasantly surprised to see the nice selection of board games and seating options. I visited Jugg Heads a few weeks back for a ladies night with coworkers, and I will definitely be back.

We were total fans when they first opened, even driving from clear across town where we live to fill a growler or have a pint, but the service has gotten worse and worse on subsequent visits and there’s just something missing. I do think it’s weird that at least once a week the business posts on its facebook page that it will be opening late. And then. For some strange reason. they close at 9 p.m. most nights. Maybe I’m the confused one. Maybe this is a «beer store» more than a bar and maybe 9 p.m. is perfectly reasonable. But the few times we’ve been there at «last call,» there have been people spending money and the worker/owner just wants to call it a night. Last time we were there, when we went to check out on the ipad, we noticed it was set for gratuities to 20%, 25%, or 30%. For pouring a beer? Please. I think we’re over it.

We’ve been to this bar a number of times and are never let down! The first time I ever pulled up, I was a little confused by the outside because you can tell it used to be a gas station but the way they have renovated it is clever and the concept is pretty neat. There is outdoor seating available, as well as an area to play cornhole, and a decent amount of seating inside(considering it’s somewhat small), including couches. They also have a number of games you can play with your friends and about 4 flat screen televisions. They serve only NC beer, which is a cool concept, so you get to try different local beers that you might not otherwise have the opportunity to try. There’s no food here(other than some small snacks that they sell, like popcorn and nuts), but there are some pretty awesome food trucks that come on the weekends and there are several pizza delivery places nearby, including Burke Street Pizza. They sell flights and growlers at good prices, as well as bottled NC beer. The only thing I wish they had more of was non-alcoholic beverages(I’ve been there a time or two as the DD)…they really only have a water fountain, but you are more than welcome to bring your own drinks. The other great perk of this place is that it’s very dog friendly so almost every time I’ve been, there’s been a dog or two there. The staff is friendly and quick, and every time we have been, it’s always been clean(including the bathrooms). We definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun but laid back time!

Walked over to Jugg Heads after a meal at Little Richards BBQ. They had a food truck out front which seems to be a regular thing. Great idea and the pizzas they were serving looked/smelled real good. I dig the interior. Nice mix of soft seating and a fair-sized bar. Games to play. The service was fine. It seemed like there were some regulars who got a lot of extra attention(which is to be expected). Nice selection of beers on tap for pints of growlers and some cool merchandise for sale along the back wall. I could see myself returning as Jugg Heads is the closest watering hole to my house. Nice addition to this section of CC road.

This is a fun, unique place with great selection! They have all sorts of NC beers on draft and available as bottles or cans you can’t find elsewhere. It’s a chance to try from smaller breweries who don’t otherwise have the means to get their beers to Winston. This also means their selection changes frequently– always something new and exciting to try. The beer enthusiasts running the place are super friendly and knowledgable and the food trucks that set up shop in the parking lot make it a perfect dinner spot.

First and foremost this place is dog friendly. A huge plus in my wife and my opinion. The Décor is a wonderful pub style with bar tables and couches for relaxing. A bar for drinking and a covered outside great for gathering. The beer is always cold and(contrary to the other reviewer) the staff is friendly and knowledgable. My wife and I enjoy talking to the lady(I wished we knew her name) who works behind the bar. She’s never steered us wrong. My wife and I own two of their blue 32oz bottles and we love going to her asking her suggestion. The beer changes frequently so it makes her giving us suggestions that much more exciting. My wife and I go frequently and we will continue to go in the future. We like going Friday nights and grabbing food from the food truck and some beer. I suggest this place to all my friends. You should try them if you can. You won’t be disappointed.

Jugg Heads is an awesome concept, but from my experience the service was terrible. Jugg Heads has a huge selection of beers on tap, and the great thing is that they offer only NC beers. I’m all about drinking local and I think it is incredible to have so many selections from the Old North State. You are able to sample any of their beers and can grab a pint of anything to drink on site as well. They fill both 32 ounce and 64 ounce growlers, and are willing to fill up growlers from other locations as well. The atmosphere is cool. This is an old gas station and they have kept the general structure of the building. They still have the overhang that covered the tanks, which is nice on rainy days. They have picnic tables and corn hole outside. On the inside, they have a couple of T.V.‘s, some leather couches, tables, a nice bar area, and foosball. I’ve only been once, but the service on this occasion was terrible. It was a Thursday evening and they were fairly busy, so I took this into account. When I asked to sample a beer I was given attitude. I was given attitude when I took more than 30 seconds to decide what I wanted. I was given attitude when I asked about the beer. Basically I was just given attitude the whole time. After finishing off my beer, it took about 25 mins for the bartender to even look my direction for another round. When I asked if they filled growlers, he simply said yes and didn’t ask if I wanted one filled before walking off. Another bartender showed up and spent the whole time talking to his friends while ignoring other patrons. After finally getting the attention of a bartender to close out, I was rudely told that I had to close out at the other end of the bar. As I was closing out there were a couple options for tip. The lowest of which was 25%. How about no? I had to go in and do a custom tip. I still left one for some reason, but it was barely over 10%. I might go back to Jugg Heads because again I think this concept is a great addition to the Winston beer scene. Unfortunately, the staff is just plain rude and did not make us feel welcome at all. Hopefully this was just an off night, but it was not a good experience.

Great spot! The staff is quite friendly and helpful in beer selection. I like getting a flight or 2 with my husband. I also like that we can bring the pup anytime we want, always enjoy a dog friendly environment. They have food trucks certain nights of the week which is a good quick dinner while your’e enjoying some beers.

Visited here last night with two other couples for a beer prior to the Dash game. What a fun place! Laid back, rustic atmosphere. There is a little den area with a leather couch and chairs that our group utilized — like being in your living room. Coffee table in front of us and a nice, big flat screen on the wall to watch the US Open. There is at least one other tv, maybe more. Its in a converted gas station with picnic tables outside. All their products are North Carolina products. There have a huge selection of beers on tap and they’ll give you samples as long as you ask. The bartender was really patient with us and we probably tried 8 or 9 samples among the group before deciding. My friend got a pomegranite pale ale, two in the group had a Belgian brew that they loved, another of us had a dark amber beer and I got the jalapeño pale ale which I loved. They sell Chad’s popcorn and that is the perfect snack — that stuff is amazing! This is truly a little neighborhood hangout and we just loved it. Will definitely go back again.

Overall we were very happy with our first visit to JH! We were a little scared as it is an obviously converted gas station but it really is charming! Plenty of out door seating plus they are puppy friendly! The inside is very reminiscence of Old Winston Social Club– board games and cards galore to play with friends old and new. Lots of table seating and comfy couches. Plenty of bar seats too! They really do have an amazing concept«if it’s not from NC we don’t sell it». So that’s 32NC craft drafts plus bottles! Their updated beer list is on their website. Generous flights are a steal at $ 5 so you are sure to find a new favorite or two!!! Cool and local! You can bring your own growler to fill or purchase there. They also sell can Kooozies, shirts, cups and the like so you you can rep Jugg Heads wherever you go! No food but they do sell some NC snacks like Chads Popcorn. They also have food trucks several times a week so check out their Facebook page for what’s coming. We really had a fun afternoon and had some fun new beers– I recommend for the NC craft beer lover and if you don’t like beer they also have wine but I just bet you will find something you like! We will be back for sure!!!
