Really went down hill since owners changed. Not what it used to be. Low quality food now

We love Mexican food and you cannot walk out of here hungry! They have the salsa dialed in, umm; umm! Their menu covers all standard choices but isn’t so large that you are overwhelmed. We arrived during dinner hour on a Friday night and were immediately seated with a party of 6 which included 2 children. Service was top notch. I generally don’t order a combo plate, but this time I did. It included a burrito, enchilada and a chile relleno. The combination plate included rice and authentic refried beans. Definitely going back the next time we’re in town!

Do not get the tacos. They smell weird and don’t have anything in them. The salsa has no flavor and forget about the guacamole, you might as well dip a chip in an avacado. The chips are stale and really thick. I do give them props for making me feel like I’m in another country. Interesting environment lol

I was looking forward to trying this place out, since we have just moved to the area and we saw they were runner-up for best Mexican food in the Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards. Well, maybe it was a bad night for them in the kitchen? I don’t know, none of the food had much flavor. The guac was nothing special, nor were the tacos or the burrito loco. There was no spice-kick to anything either, we had to use a heavy hand with the bottled hot sauce on the table just to taste it. Maybe we’ll give them another try in a few months, as we prefer the small ‘mom-and-pop’ places like this. Hopefully it was just a bad night for them.

Their torta was very good! I’ve been looking through many Mexican restaurants for an awesome torta. Says it’s for a limited time on the menu, but hoping it becomes a regular item because I will be back for many more tortas in the future! Wife had a bean burritos platter which she really enjoyed. I had a bite of the rice, and it was flavorful and authentic.

We heard some really good things from some of our Latin friends about this place and they were right. Service was somewhat brusk and they wouldn’t allow us to mix tacos on the lunch special. Prices are fair and the food was really, really good. The tortilla soup was one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything down to the rice and beans, which are often overlooked, were really, really good. Obviously, they care about their food and clearly do a bang up business even with the competition of 4Rivers next door. We went in for an early lunch and by the time we left they were slammed and it’s easy to see why.

So I’m not drinking the Kool aid everyone is bragging about. I thought the food was okay but the service and wait times were what gave it the one star. I had to wait 10 minutes for my drink order and then another five minutes to place my dinner order. I’m from Oklahoma and know good mexican food and you sir, are not good mexican food. In conclusion, if you’re hungry and in the area, hit up Four Rivers.

Great place. Great atmosphere and nice staff. The salsa was a bit watery for my tastes but definitely fresh. Our food came out pretty timely and was nice and hot and delish… and my Aunt agrees.

This place is a sad excuse for a Mexican restaurant. What they lack in flavor they will make up for in huge bland portions. People saying it’s the best Mexican restaurant have obviously only ever experienced sub par places before. That’s like saying McDonald’s is the best place for a premium burger. The salsa is great, I’ll give them that. The service is also lacking, don’t be surprised if the waitress stares at you in confusion when you ask for something on the menu and proceed to show her. I’d pass on this one, but hey McDonald’s is across the street if you want a premium burger.

Best Mexican In Winter Garden for sure! I would recommend the fajitas and if you’re into nachos, they have the biggest most intense plate of nachos I’ve seen in my life.

Nice vintage Mexican establishment. Menu was as expected and food was good too. Chips and salsa was in abundance and the sangria was flowing. Service was good, kids menu was limited to hamburger and chicken nuggets but since that is what my kids eat it worked out. Prices were decent. Will be back.

WOW! I took a chance on this restaurant and was not disappointed! I tried the other taco restaurant down the street and not only was that place dirty and unorganized it was so expensive for what you got. Tacos Jalisco was delicious and adorable! I took my baby girl there for lunch and she got a Combo #1 which was a huge plate of rice and refried beans(both super flavorful not bland like most restaurants) and a cheese quesadilla and a beef taco for $ 4.99! I got chicken fajitas which also came with rice, beans, and all the fixins and put yucky Chili’s to shame for only $ 7.99! Seriously I’m Hispanic and I know what I would cook in my own house and this place was the real deal if you want some delicious cheap eats! The interior was a little run down. The ceiling has water spots and leaks which looks really bad but that could be part of being in a strip mall and management not making repairs. The rest of the interior was kept clean and the staff was extremely attentive. So glad I took a chance!

Hands down best Mexican restaurant in the area. A native from California we have to have Mexican food. It’s a must. This place tilts that pallet boat and rocks all kinds of flavor in your mouth. The crowd pleaser is the BURROLOCO, this burrito brings on the mariachi band in flavor. It has all the flare of a BURRITO but a fork is required. You can not eat this bad boy with you hands in a tilt position. So gents, don’t worry no upper pinky required! Chow down on this feast and take the rest home. Unless you are extra extra hungry, you will need a doggie bag.

New owners, new ‘market prices’…really $ 25 for the Camarones al Infierno…(Hell Shrimp). It’s not the Cap Grille… Four very tastey large shrimp and the typical pre made banquet rice and beans… good, but not that good. Maybe $ 17 and I’ll change my mind. Food was tasty but the sticker shock ended it. $ 160 total for five people and a couple of beers… Good eats, but does not warrant $ 32 ave per person ticket price. Beside my dish the others ordered typical dishes… and one last note. The chorizo/queso appetizer came with only two tortias. I asked for a couple more as there was more than enough cheese/chorizo to fill two more. They charged me $ 3.60 for two, yes two 6″ diameter tortias… no kidding! Fix your prices and maybe I will return. Three star on taste, one star on value. Value overrode giving two stars.

My go to restaurant for authentic Mexican food. My wife is Mexican so I know what authentic and good tastes like. I’ve had many things on the menu and nothing has missed the mark, but if your looking for a recommendations you’ve come to the right review. Puntos de filete — tender, juicy steak smothered in the most delicious green salsa I’ve had north of the border. Plato Guadalajara — a solid all around sampler plate. Chilaquilles — A Mexican breakfast classic that tastes good any time of the day.

I am not going to lie, I was incredibly dubious that I would find something to eat here since I am Vegetarian(by choice) and Gluten Free(most DEFINITELY not by choice). All in all, I figured I would just eat a couple of sides if I couldn’t find anything. Since this restaurant is authentic, pretty much everything IS meat based and from the faces of all the other patrons it seems they were definitely enjoying their dishes. I am a HUGE Chilaquiles fan, and they did have them here so I ordered them without the chicken. The server did actually give me a puzzled face and repeated the order as if I just had asked for the silliest dish. My hubby got the burritos with veggies only. The guacamole we ordered for an appetizer was fantastic and the tomatillo sauce on the Chilaquiles was absolute perfection! For sure we will be back! Yummm

This is still, after more than a decade, the only authentic table service Mexican restaurant in Orlando. There are some Tex Mex items, but the real key is to order the authentic dishes such as the pastor or the mole. I like the Plato Botanas appetizer sampler, but for a real treat try the Gorditas Pastor with everything. Also excellent margaritas.

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. At was almost 2 pm and only two other tables occupied. The décor is nice and the dining area is clean. The staff was very friendly and seated right away. Our drinks came in 3 minutes. Food was out in about five. While we waited we ate fresh chips and salsa. The salsa style is thin with chucks if tomato and onion, but has great taste. Food was fresh and authentic. Had the nachos, orden de tacos with pork, and enchilada. Would recommend highly.

Molcajete. That’s all you need to know. It is the name of their grilled veggie, spicy salsa that upon request, can be provided to you to accompany their fresh chips. Their regular salsa is pretty good as well, but thin in texture as another reviewer stated. I usually end up dousing whatever main course I order with the leftover Molcajete Salsa as well. They have great tacos, especially the chorizo, and great corn tortillas. They’re on the smaller side, so if you’re starving, get a few. Two with a side of rice is usually enough for me only because I tend to eat too much of the chips and salsa. Their Chicken Fajita Quesadilla and Flautas are really good, too. What’s important is that they come with guacamole, and it is perfectly creamy and flavorful. Then, what’s more important is that they come with THEIRSUPERDELICIOUSRICE! It’s honestly the best Mexican rice I’ve had in a long, looooong time. The last time we were there, The Castillo Kids performed some mariachi-style songs, including mainstream ones, which made it even more fun. They also have other types of performances on a certain frequency, but we haven’t had a chance to experience them, yet. We try not to focus on their over-achieving décor(it’s like as though all that is tacky about Mexico threw up in there) because their food is so good. Service has also been good, but we’ve always only had Jerry(sp?), so we can’t speak to the other servers. We can’t wait to return to try more food because so far nothing has disappointed us. And I’m dreaming about the Molcajete salsa. Mmmmm.
