West Orange Nephrology

been going here since my baby boy was born back in 2011. Been having irregular blood pressure and dr are concern it could damage my kidney.
The staff are very friendly. Very flexible with scheduling all of my appt. they have always made a good effort to get me in and out fairly quickly.
The dr is friendly and he shows concern with my problem. he explained everything so that is a bonus.

I am normally TERRIFIED of doctors and will AVOID them no matter how sick I am. Dr Banji Awosika is VERY different.
Almost 5 years ago, I was born with 1 kidney and HAD to see a nephrologist due to «excessive» protein in my urine. Dr Awosika is beyond AMAZING. I have never felt better with a doctor. He tells you precisely how it is, how you can fix the problem, what to expect, etc. He’s very comfortable and makes sure you fully understand everything and won’t leave until you’re both satisfied. I’ve never felt rushed with him.
His staff is just as great! I’ve never felt more at home! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and will laugh and crack jokes at random times. They’re ALWAYS smiling, and genuinely happy.
One thing that sets Dr Awosika apart from other Nephro’s is that he has a nutritionist who comes in either before, after or during your visit with the doctor. She explains how you should be eating and when. If you want to go into detail with her, she’ll be more than happy to schedule an appointment and go into great detail. She gave me her personal email, just in case.
When I was seeing Dr Banji, he also had another doctor (or soon-​to-​be doctor? Assistant?). The guy is super sweet. He’s usually quiet, but has no fear of detailing what the doctor says.
He’s at «Death Centrral» (Health Central), but that has a major perk. You leave his office and the lab area is directly to the right! You can do your blood and urine tests (GFR) right there and you can have your kidney ultrasound done there also on the other side. Super convenient!
When I moved to California, I desperately wanted Dr Banji to come out to CA. That’s how much I love this doctor! Since moving, he’s been able to answer all of my questions regarding my kidney health with my miracle pregnancy.
Overall, a miracle doctor with an amazing staff! DEFINITELY SEE HIM!!!
