I understand this shop does custom cakes, cupcakes and cookies, however, my review is solely on the cupcakes. I was really tired from traveling and not thrilled with the humidity in Florida, so my hubby tried to cheer me up by looking for a cupcake place(God love him, he knows they always cheer me up!) in Winter Haven. He found this place online and we drove by on Monday to find they are closed on Mondays. We came back on Tuesday(they close at 2pm). They were pretty enough and the prices were reasonable($ 1.85 compared to the $ 3+ we pay in CA), so we got a dozen to take back to the family. Well, the phrase, «you get what you pay for» could not be more true. I was sorely disappointed with these cupcakes. With the first bite of the Chocolate Monkey cupcake(was told this was banana cake with fudge frosting, topped with a banana laffy taffy piece), I knew instantly it was canned frosting. I’d even venture to say that it was box mix cake, but since I can’t prove that, my hubby says not to say that. I took one bite and let me hubby finish it. Those who«know» cupcakes, can tell box from scratch cupcakes and canned from homemade frosting. I gave them another try with the yellow cake and white buttercream, only it wasn’t buttercream, it was similar to decorator frosting with a heavy«Crisco» tone to it. Since I’m not quitter, I later gave them another pass with the PB&J. Yellow cake with peanut butter buttercream and grape jelly in the center and drizzled on top. Of the three, I enjoyed this frosting the best, but still smacked of «box mix» and grape jelly? Really? Oh my. I wanted to like you Favor, I really did! Sadly, this was a swing and a miss :\
