Best workout in town! I started going before my wedding and have continued ever since, very clean and cool space in Winter Park. Teachers are amazing and friendly as well! Highly recommended.

My friend and I were discussing on how no one who attends the classes at Barre 54 is a «before» picture. Everyone is in good shape. Well I am the before picture but you have to start somewhere. I have probably attended 12 or so classes here. It is tough and they change the workout up to keep you challenged. One reviewer mentioned that they didn’t sweat much but I had the opposite affect. I drip buckets of sweat from the workout… almost as bad as when running outdoors in the Florida heat. They keep the air at a good temperature but the exercises can be that intense. There are some moves that I still can’t do but with each visit I feel myself getting stronger. Previously I was only going approximately once a week and each visit was hard. I finally did a two classes in a week and I can tell you it is much better this way. I am going to keep attending classes as long as I keep seeing results. My advice: Arrive early to get good mat/bar placement. Yoga socks… I like the one with the toe socks. Go at least twice a week. Bring water and a towel. Don’t be embarrassed if you feel awkward at the beginning. What matters is that you are trying!

I’ve been to Barre 54 twice now and loved it both times. Both classes flew by and left me feeling sore for days after. Kristen P. does a great job of laying out all the basics, so I definitely recommend reading her review. Socks are required, so be sure to bring them. They sell special barre socks for $ 12 — but normal socks work just fine. This isn’t a sweaty cardio workout by any means, but you’re definitely going to feel it. I brought along a hand towel and big water bottle for good measure and recommend you do the same. Also, be sure you sign up for class online or via phone a day or several hours before. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Alicia’s class.(You can see the instructors on the website.) She was upbeat, funny and helpful in readjusting first-timers(me!) in a way that didn’t make you feel uncomfortable or like you were doing it wrong.

Ladies, This place hits all the trouble areas. Arms, thighs, muffin tops, butt(or «seat» as they call it). Seriously, I’m sore. When you get there, you sign in. You get a mat, ball, strap, weights and resistance band. We started with arms, using the weights. Then we went to the barre with the ball. We balanced with it in between our legs. We went back to the mat and did some abs. Then back to the barre for our seat exercises. Then back to the mat for donkey kick type thing. Then back to the barre for more abs. it’s an intense workout. Not a drenched in sweat workout, but you’re working. I’ve never burned so much. At one point my leg was shaking so bad, I couldn’t tell if I was actually moving it. Have some potassium, water and pain relievers ready after you’re done. The staff is very nice. The instructor was nice and encouraging. She would come around and make corrections to us first timers. They don’t really stop the class to explain how to do things. So watch first, then copy. The exercisers take it really serious. They were all there to work. I was anticipating the slow ambient music like in yoga/pilates. Nope we were moving to fast-paced beat. Requirements: Register for class online prior to going Need yoga socks. Can buy there(I got mine at Walmart) Tips: Try not to get a corner spot at the barre — it’s difficult to spread out The studio is off of New England around a corner. You’ll see the sign on New England, go past it to the next block and turn right. It’s just down there.

I went to my first ever Barre 54 class today. It was one of the most challenging workouts I have ever done(and I consider myself to be in fairly good shape.) I do yoga and run on a regular basis, Body Pump, circuit training… this is like nothing I’ve ever done before! It was so tough, I was unable to keep up with a lot of the exercises without resting for short periods of time. But I absolutely loved it! I love being challenged and feeling like I really got in a good work out when I’m done, and this class definitely did just that! The instructor, Sarah, was very motivating and encouraging… even when I couldn’t keep up. She also took the time to correct my form/posture since I was unfamiliar with a lot of the excercises. I cannot recommend this class enough. I can’t wait to go back!
