Always great food. Only have had lunch and dinner but you won’t be disappointed. Brick oven pizza can NOT be beat.

Great food! Big portions for most of the stuff. Been going there for the last 10 years! Made good memories here!

HORRIBLESERVICE! Food took over an hour to come to our table. The waiter had ZERO care or concern on how our dining experience was. He never once apologized for the awful service we received. As for the food. More than one of our dishes came out wrong. Never Again waiting so long for terrible service and below-par food.

Super disappointing. We arrived at 10:30 and were told a 45 min wait. We went to Steadys to get coffee came back and checked to see if they called us(just in case). Nope. So we waited, and waited… and waited. We were sitting outside the front entrance. Over an hour later, I went inside to ask about our table. I was told our name had been called twice? Once at 10:45 and once at 11:00. Hmmm, hard to believe, especially since we checked in once around 10:55 and were told we would still have a long wait AND we were sitting outside waiting to be called. We heard everyone else being called. Once inside our server was fine, but after initial drinks and order taking, he disappeared for the most part, until the very end. Food was great but it took forever. Still scratching my head that ½ of the tables were vacant on a Fathers Day. Staff your restaurant appropriately for holidays so guests don’t have to wait an hour+. You’ll find if you cut the wait down customers would head to your restaurant more. We don’t go specifically because the wait is brutal.

Having enjoyed many meals over the years, my friends and I set out for what we expected to be another enjoyable dining experience at Putah Creek Café. Boy were we in for a huge disappointment. The service: First, the hostess told us there would be a 20 – 25 minute wait. It turned into almost an hour. There were lots of empty tables so the delay was perplexing. Then we ordered our appetizer only to longing gaze at it as it sat waiting for pick up in the pass thru window for at least 15 minutes. It was finally brought to us by one of the 8 to 10 server on duty, so it wasn’t like they were short staffed or were sooo busy. Then we waited for our meals. The salmon salad first appeared at the pass thru and sat for another minimum 15 minutes while our burger and tritip sandwich were prepared. The tritip came with the gravy on the sandwich instead of on the side, and by this time, the salmon was tepid. Just to keep to a theme, the waitress made us wait for the to go boxes we asked for, and when we got our credit card bill, it had been rung up for $ 125 rather than the $ 85 we owed. The food: The cheese and honey comb appetizer had a smaller piece of honey comb than previous visits, the salmon on the salad was cold from its exile on the pass thru window, the tritip and the mushroom gravy were way too salty but the Italian burger was tasty. The verdict: With lousy service, mediocre food and the credit card screw up, Putah Creek is off our go-to restaurant list.

Been here for lunch a few times… it was okay, somewhat limited choices. Apparently, breakfast is the biggest reason to eat here, so I’ll have to come in earlier. The service has always been great. Very homey atmosphere.

The food itself is good, SOMEtimes… We’ve been here a couple of times and the first time the tomatoes on my burger were farm fresh! The burger itself was tasty. My daughter had the chicken fried steak and eggs meal and the potatos were fresh and the meat was fork tender. We decided to come back and it was never the same. I saw fresh squeezed orange juice in the mimosa so I had them bring me some(without the mimosa part) and I can see WHY they need the mimosa part. This so called fresh squeezed tastes like minute maid or some other box from concentrate OJ. Sooo disappointed! The burgers are still OK but I guess we were there like right after farmer’s market day or something because that first time everything was fresh tasting! The times after that, not even close. So the food is, I guess, a hit or miss at this place. But the service, oh my god, the service is HORRIBLE at this place. The staff kind of forget about you and even to pay is a nightmare. I could have walked out in the half an hour it took to stand in line to pay only to have some old BAT come in at the last second, CUTINLINE, and pay her bill. I said to the staff, I was here before her but do you think they cared? Nope. Not about the line behind me or anything, they just said, give me a moment and took the bat’s money. Ask me if I gave them a tip? Go ahead… That’s right a BIGFATZERO is what they got. I should have been nice though… put on their receipt under tip: «Please pay attention to the people who eat at your place!» I don’t feel bad for the zero tip. Not ONE bit. No one worked even slightly hard for their tip. In fact, it must be so expected they don’t do anything at all and get paid to bring your food out to you and then YOU have to get up, stand in line to pay the bill. This isn’t fast food, people! I expect to be told the wait is blah, get seated, get my water, and then about 5 – 10 mins not a half hour(!) to get someone to get my order. I think this is why the wait times are so long, because like I said, the staff forgets about you. Now, it could be a serious understaffing problem but I don’t know, I did see plenty of bodies around but who knows, maybe they were all dishwashers. In any case, I don’t see myself coming back. Winters looks like a nice little town but yeah, we’ll probably find another place to stop by on the way to Berryessa.

I took my wife here for a early Saturday date and meal and I must say our experience was great we’d never been here before so the drive was nice. Once we arrived in the little town of winter it seemed like a place unmolested by time or technology the people were friendly and spoke as we passed them… The food was outstanding and our server was helpful and pleasant. I’d suggest going to the café to anyone in the area or if you just wanna take a drive it’s well worth it. Enjoyed our short getaway.

No thanks. Got seated and was surprised how minimal the menu for lunch was too loud and too many people. We left without ordering. You can keep it. No thanks

Had the vegetable omelette. Filled with spinach, cheese, artichokes and sundries tomatoes. Potatoes were equally delicious! This is a must go for breakfast!

Good breakfasts. Decent pizza later in the day. In the last bit of time, they have expanded into the street a bit, as has the Buckhorn across the street, creating some table spaces outside. The Putah Creek Café is a great destination. Lots of cyclists make it a mid-point, though they provide a lot of food so I would guess the carbs outweigh the protein as they peddle back. The food isn’t high end, but good, filling, and the prices are reasonable.

This place is amazing every time I go! Nothing on the menu I wouldn’t order again. The chicken and waffles are out of this world. I think their Bloody Mary is one of the best I’ve had. Don’t leave without getting a treat from the front counter! You’ll be full when you leave, but you’ll be happy to have one for a snack later in the day.

I stopped in for breakfast, and got scrambled eggs with chicken sausage, hashbrowns, and a biscuit. It was the biggest and most beautiful breakfast. I got the breakfast to go, I only had wish I had jam to apply to it. I will definitely made a return trip back for the cioppino, because that was the item featured on Triple D, but at 8 in the morning in the morning it was a little to early to order.

We were on a road trip from OR to San Fran and stopped at this gem along the way. The café was super busy for a Tuesday mid-afternoon, but the food was worth the wait! Huge portions, delicious food, great service make this stop a must! The only downside was the bathroom — only room for one person and there was often a wait.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon on Valentine’s Day and it was crazy packed! Considering that it was prime time for brunch and it was Valentine’s Day, I expected the line to be extremely long. However, we only had to wait 20 minutes! Not too bad. There are plenty of cute shops to walk around while waiting and plenty of street parking along the side. There are places to sit outside and a fireplace outside as well when you are waiting to be seated. There are plenty of tables so it is good for groups of two to(up to) ten. Onto the food… we got the smoked salmon eggs benedict which came with potatoes(and ketchup), 3 pieces of asparagus, and two eggs benedict cooked to perfection. We also got the country fried steak which included potatoes, chicken fried steak, eggs, and mashed potatoes. They were delicious! Nothing too special about this brunch place(just like any other brunch place). But overall I would say this place is very cute, comfortable, and a place I would come back to for brunch.

I always love to drive to Winters, as the town is small town America, the people are friendly and the food at the Putah Creek Café has always exceeded my expectations for lunch. The atmosphere is homey and friendly. It is a great price performer. My son and I are currently working on another solar project at one of its many farms. We had the pleasure of eating lunch here today. I had the home made chili and Jim Jr. had a chicken salad. Simply WONDERFUL! The service was great and they were aware we had a limited amount of time. We will certainly be back here any time we can.

Came here for breakfast on a Friday morning with my Dad on our way to the Bay. Located on the corner in downtown Winters, we enjoyed the small town, quaint vibe Putah Creek Café provided. There was plenty of parking on the street right outside the café. We greeted warmly with a smile and promptly seated in a comfy booth. I enjoyed the decorations of paintings from local artists. Our server promptly greeted us and took our drink order. She returned almost immediately with piping hot coffee and water. I ordered the griddle breakfast with two scrambled eggs, links, and Texas French toast. I added the cinnamon baked apples, toasted almonds, and whip cream. The addition of the apples and whip cream made the French toast go from ordinary to extraordinary. I highly recommend that addition. The eggs were average and the links were ok. My Dad ordered the Ranchers breakfast with sunny-side up eggs, sourdough toast, bacon, and pancakes. He enjoyed his meal. For the price, this café serves up a respectable breakfast with fast and friendly service.

We hit this restaurant just bc another one was closed in another small town. I know it was second choice and probably the chances of us coming back is close to nil. We kind of had a strange feeling here. Not sure what it was. We did get seated fairly quickly but after that things went downhill. Our service was super slow. By the time the waitress came around I ordered everything right away. I got the griddle breakfast with the French toast. Husband got the ranchers breakfast with pancakes. My French toast had a strange flat taste to it that it needed butter and syrup so I could eat it. At first I told the waiter to not bring the syrup but hubby needed it. I just plain forgot! So hubby had to get up and get it himself because our waitress was literally not around! So inconvenient. It’s the first time ever I had French toast that had a taste that sugar wouldn’t help. Normally that’s all I add to my French toast but not today. Our waitress was emotionless like no smile or no pleasantries so it makes it difficult to have a nice meal when your server is literally not there. Asked twice for a box to go and luckily she left our check right away. You know fasho I wasn’t going to tip generously like I normally do! And we prolly won’t be back. It’s too bad but I don’t enjoy coming to a restaurant when food is so-so and service is what service???

2 hours into our 600 mile trek up to Oregon, we hit Winters, and I’m already hungry and in need of a bathroom. Knowing that once we hit interstate 5 there’s nothing for quite a while, we decide to check out«Historic Main Street» It seems every little burg in the Central Valley has a restored downtown district, like this one, about 3 blocks long. We were greeted with a genuine friendly welcome, with this kind service carrying through the whole lunch and making B– food seem more wonderful. We sat at the counter to avoid a short wait. Tuesday there’s a two-fer burger special. We both got the Turkey burger, his with a side green salad that looked a little droopy, but T said it was good. I with the potato salad, which had lots of good ingredients like celery, onion, and black olives, but would have benefitted from a healthy sprinkling of salt and pepper. The burgers were well cooked, big and juicy, a tad bit on the salty side. Accompanied with ripe tomato, mild red onion and very good dill pickle chips, it hit the spot. Because we got the special, our total was $ 14 before tip. Such a deal! Food: 27⁄40 Service: 20⁄20! Atm/Intang: 18⁄20 Value: 19⁄20 Overall: 84⁄100
