I wish I could review the food, but they ticked me off enough at the start that I doubt that will ever happen. Tuesday, 5/3, my vegetarian sweetie and I were walking around town looking for someplace for dinner and we were drawn by the smell of the huge grill placed outside right next to the sidewalk. There were some daily menus sitting out so we grabbed a couple and looked them over while waiting for someone come greet and seat us. A couple of minutes went by with no one around but the grill chef, so I took the two steps to the grill and asked him about the only veggie entrée — the eggplant salad. While he was telling me he’d run out of it, a female server came over, didn’t acknowledge us except to scowl and started doing something behind the grill. We decided we’d look around town for something vegetarian for my partner and then come back here for cocktails and my dinner. That’s when the female server said to the chef in a snarky voice, «We should put up a sign that says ‘Don’t Talk to the Chef’.» Um, *seriously?* A) You know I can hear you, right? B) If you don’t want people talking to the chef, don’t put him right out in front where he’s the first thing people encounter, and C) Have someone greet people sooner than five minutes so they don’t have to talk to him instead. They didn’t look terribly busy so I can only assume she was either having a bad day, or she’d made the twisty things in her hair too tight and that was harshing her mellow.

I was pleasantly surprised at how foodie-chic this place was! Even though it’s located in a tourist trap in the country, the food and atmosphere was on-par with something you’d find in a hipster city neighborhood. The dining room is small, but they have several outdoor tables on the front patio that you can spill out onto on a nice day. The décor is a very electic mix of industrial meets vintage meets classical and makes it feel cozy. The cocktail list features some beautifully crafted options with really unique liqueurs you wouldn’t normally see. As far as the food goes, the meats weren’t incredibly stellar, but the cheese plate and pickled vegetables were amazingly delicious! We went on a Saturday evening and were greeted with live music in the dining room, which added a nice ambiance. Definitely make this a stop for dinner while you’re in the Methow Valley!

A pleasant surprise after a day skiing in the Methow Valley. Though primarily a bar the food menu is surprisingly good. The Hot Italian sausage and beef brisket were group favorites along with a nice selection of appetizers including a warm Brie and jam combo. Place is small and filled up on a winter Friday night. Great service and atmosphere.

Great experience! The food is fresh and local with a big portions for«small plates.» They have a big cocktail menu as well with lots of variety. So glad we found this spot. Get there early for dinner as the place is quaint with limited seating.

We had an exceptionally enjoyable experience here during our stay in Winthrop! The bartenders were knowledgable and friendly! The ambiance was amazing! They use little antique French perfume bottles to spray the vermouth into your martinis. I ordered a Rosemary Lavender Gimlet and it was blissful! Fresh & shaken ice cold with a Rosemary sprig garnishing the drink. We will be back for sure!

Rolled into Windthrop off Glacier Peak desperate for a bite and drink. It was 10pm and everything we looked at was closed. Then we slow rolled passed this joint and one of the workers flagged us down to ask us what we were looking for. We explained our situation and within minutes were ushered in for refeshments. The kitchen was closed, yet they made us the most fantastic grilled cheese sandwhiches. Great beer on tap, friendly staff/owners and excellent coctail recipies. Good vibes music and a cool atmosphere created an ideal introduction back into civilization. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fine evening in Winthrop, WA.

Hidden in the faux-old west town of Winthrop is probably the best bar in Eastern Washington. Stepping into the Copper Glance is like going from the dusty frontier into a modern urban scene; their custom cocktails easily rival those of your favorite Seattle bar(if not beat them entirely), yet the service you’ll get is completely small-town charm. And if you’re hungry, they have a small food menu of custom eats of a quality that you won’t find anywhere else within 100 miles. Come on the right night and you can even see local live music! Basically if you enjoy craft cocktails, this place is too good to be true. They of course have quality microbrews on tap as well. Pro-tip: as of August 2015, they don’t have a sign yet, but just walk northwest on Riverside from the one stop sign and look right, you can’t miss it.

This is exactly what Winthrop needed, a hip, fun, high end cocktail and small plate bar. I’ve been going to the Methow for decades and it’s so refreshing to find a cool place to have a high end cocktail after going hiking or biking. Great service, and such a relief from the rest of the town. The Cuban sandwich was awesome! And getting a Sazerac made perfect is so rare in Seattle, but they nailed it!

This is a beautifully decorated bar with superb small plates and exceptionally friendly staff/owners. The crowd is young, hip, and outdoorsy – easy to meet new people because of the relaxed atmosphere. The cocktails were better and more interesting than I’ve found in Seattle, and I had some incredible appetizers made with chèvre and fiddlehead ferns. Wow! Hats off to the bartenders and chef in this little gem of a place. The music is also terrific. CG has a mensch of a classical guitarist at happy hour who regularly strays into blues, rock, rockabilly, and«other,» and who sometimes sings improv. Not to mention frequent scheduled musicians, including some from outstanding location music fests. Winthrop is full of people with a surfeit of talent. The lovely and large outdoor seating area with misters is a summer blessing. Don’t miss Copper Glance.

Oh oh oh. I love Winthrop, but there’s limited dinner options. Brewery for a burger? Pizza? Arrowleaf for fine dining? Otherwise you drive to Twisp or up to Sun Mountain. And now there’s Copper Glance — stylish bar with small plates that can easily make a meal. The misting system on the patio is a great idea, and the style inside is sophisticated without being stuffy. If you are in town, do yourself a favor and give it a try. You can thank me later.

Cool idea for a place, poor execution. Biting off more than they can chew. Ran out of Pino Grigio on a Friday. The wimpiest cubano, and soggy Croque Monsieur, and the Hipster-flippy-bangs dude was a wildly inattentive server. Favorite quote of the night«do you guys wanna pay? *bang flip*» while I was mid bite of food.

Interesting contrast compared with everything else in the little town of Winthrop. We were hungry after our hike, but weren’t interested in a massive meal, so we ordered a few items off the menu, and it really hit the spot! It has a short food menu of small plates, but very long drinks menu. The only problem we had was that the waitress didn’t seem particularly experienced in her role, but she was nice.

One of the best bars I’ve ever been in! Craft cocktails and scrumptious small plates that complement the top-shelf selection of liquor. I’ve been living in Austin, Tx, so my standards for bars are high – I demand that they be unpretentious, able to make a wide variety of drinks, and have fantastic food. Copper Glance doesn’t disappoint. It may be in a small town but it’s of an international caliber and stocks liquors I’ve only found in high-end bars in major cities. The food is delicious, piquant plates and hearty options vie for the spotlight. My dad had the magnificent three cheese panini(super filling) and my mother was delighted with the salad. We shared the fiddlehead fern and morel crostini which was the perfect appetizer to split with three people. The prices are Seattle style, but I’d drive four hours to have a dinner and a drink at the Copper Glance. P. S. The ambiance is to die for!!!

Easily the best bar in Winthrop and the entire Methow Valley. They specialize in fresh hand crafted cocktails and yummy small plates of food. They don’t have a huge selection of beer but what they have on tap is great. They also have really good local wine and cider. The atmosphere is welcoming with options to sit both indoors and outside. There’s always good music playing from the sound system and the place has a modern rustic look that I love. And the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and quick. The bar is intimate(read small) which means it’s the perfect size almost anytime you go there but at peak hours on the weekends in the summer you might want to arrive early to make sure you get a seat. And the location is great right in downtown Winthrop directly across the street from the brewery and Carlos 1800. Lots of parking usually to be found close by or walk there! Fun place! Check it out

Amaze, unique drinks served by knowledgable bar tenders. Delicious bistro food! I had the Meat and cheese board so good sitting in the sun taking in the buzz around town. Classy cocktail bar in the middle of this quaint little«western» town. Can the Methow Valley get any better !!!
