They don’t accept their own living social voucher. The owner didn’t even have the respect to explain to why they wouldn’t accept it. The music is also too damn loud.

Abysmal service. As in, so bad, we left before even ordering. As others have stated, owner refused to honor groupons/living social deals, in defiance of the contract they entered into… and the law. I was so upset, I’ve since contacted the AG. Utter lack of integrity and complete disregard of the law.

4 of us met there, at the bar, for drinks, before dinner. We wanted to celebrate the birthday of a member of our party. We had paid for a Groupon type voucher, and the owner refused to honor it. It was still valid, so my friend who bought it, has to get a refund from the issuer. We would have wanted to eat there, but it’s seems that the management lack integrity. We just left, and did not want to give them our business.

Familiar place with an exotic flair! Kasbah is located right in the middle of Winthrop, yet has a friendly Moroccan warmth. Service is prompt and polite. Drinks are strong and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is soothing with candlelight at each table. Hookahs are great with good variety. Food is wonderfully mouthwatering. Highly recommended!

Kasbah is a hidden Gem in Winthrop. The service is great, the staff is friendly, professional. Everyone pretty much knows everyone, but you will find a few new faces amongst the crowd. I have been going there for well over ten years. The food is delicious, I don’t really have anything negative to say about Kasbah. For anyone who haven’t visited, come by, you won’t regret it.

This is such a great place in Winthrop. The owner, staff and customers are all very friendly and it is a relaxed atmosphere with good vibes. The have a great martini list and many varieties of hookah flavors. They are also open until 1am every night which is another huge plus. I highly recommend this place if you are passing through the Winthrop area are looking for something fun and different. I can’t wait to go back for their new wine list!

Horrible customer service. The waitresses are horrible. They will overcharge you and claim to not have the register working. My group was overcharged $ 100. My friend is well off but I know the waitress overcharged the bill. Beware!

If I could give no stars… is what I would do. The food was awful and the wait was way too long for such bad food, btw in an empty restaurant!!! Should have been our first clue. But truly the biggest problem was the owner who we found out cooked our food… so sad. He literally was one of the worse people I’ve ever met. He so didn’t care about our experience, probably because he was getting drunk with his friends at the bar after I guess was our lucky night he made our food, and was probably one of the rudest person we have ever met. I have not and would never go back to the disgusting place… don’t waste your money or time. He is a douche!

The food here is quite good and it’s the only place of its kind in Winthrop. Suitable for vegetarians. The salads are fresh and generous and have a good variety of veggies. The falafel and hummus are above average. The fried zucchini is delish. On one visit, the owner offered us a really tasty vegetable soup. They have a wide variety of Moroccan and Italian dishes, and will prepare special items on request. My boyfriend and I like the atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. I like Kasbah for its warm but unsnooty atmosphere and its reasonably priced, hearty dishes.

We’ve been here many times, for hookah, food, and drinks. We’ve never had a bad experience. The food is good, and well-prepared. Cocktails are always strong and definitely worth ~$ 10. The hookah flavours are good, too, and the waitstaff are sure to keep your coals burning and your glasses full. The bellydancer is excellent, and you can tell she loves her job. This place has a great atmosphere, and we will definitely keep coming back to this gem!

This place is easily the shadiest place in Winthrop. Go here if you like weirdos and creepers. The only good thing were the strong drinks and the belly dancer(kind of).

I came here yesterday with one of my friends because I had gotten the $ 10 for $ 20 deal that was available on Unilocal. We got the hummus which was delicious, the pita that came with it was awesome! I got a glass of sangria which was also very good. Lastly we got the tapas, they were 4 for $ 16.95. The portions were really small… we got the salmon and goat cheese cigar(single one, cut in half), some chicken cigar(single one, cut in half), mediterranean meatballs(5 small meatballs) and shrimp and garlic(4 shrimp, which were overcooked.) I think if I were to come again, I would definitely avoid the tapas, they are kind of pricey, you are basically paying $ 4 for a glorified fried spring roll. As for ambiance, it is an interesting place, dark, we were the only customers in the restaurant. The service was really great until the end when the owner/manager’s family came in and he disappeared.

I won’t sugar coat it this place is bad, waiters just coasted right past my friends, boyfriend, and myself. we waited for more than half an hour without a second glance. Finally I got fed up enough to go ask for a hookah flavor menu, I got gawked at and was told«what menu? there are three flavors» Oh my mistake, I thought this was a hookah bar? those tend to have options, not this one. Save your time, aggravation, and money. Find a better place to get hookah.

Came back here for the first time in a while and let me just say that this place has gone downhill. We were seated and ended up waiting for 40mn without service until my girlfriend finally decided to go up herself and ask for the menu. She inquired about double apple and the waitress said that flavor doesn’t exist(which is obv wrong). They only had grape strawberry and just apple. We left right after and the male waiter sarcastically said«thanks for coming» This place is not recommended

The food was disgusting, expensive, and apparently heated from the freezer in a microwave because it was partly cold! I will never go back.

I was a little worried after seeing the mostly meh reviews about this place. There was a special $ 10 for $ 20 promotion so me and the gf took a chance and were pleasantly surprised. She ordered a chicken dish and I ordered a lamb dish. Both were extremely flavorful. The waiter was also very attentive and atmosphere was perfect. Just a sidenote, this review is only for the restaurant portion, not the hookah lounge. I would not recommend the hookah portion to anyone. It’s overpriced, has a limited selection of sheesha, and the lounge is drafty, cold and has too much lighting.

I brought my boyfriend and his dad here to celebrate my boyfriend’s new home. We went with a gilt city voucher that I purchased for $ 40 which expired today(November 4). The food was okay– my boyfriend’s dad had paella and the shrimp came with heads on them which shed antennae throughout the dish. I had brandy chicken and it wasn’t the best chicken I’ve ever had and it had some fatty pieces in the medallions. My boyfriend liked his meat skewers. The service was okay but since we were the only people in there, my glass never should have been empty and we never should have had to wait for our server to come over. When it was time to use my voucher, which the owner said was fine before we were seated, he said that it was expired and we couldn’t use it. It said November 4 right on it. He then proceeded to say that he would credit the purchase price and acted like it was a huge favor(its actually the law). When I showed him that the purchase price was $ 40 he argued and told me that it was $ 10 and when I told him absolutely not, he told me it was $ 20. I showed him that it was $ 40 on the voucher and he refused to believe me. He finally did credit the bill for $ 40 but considering it should have been accepted for the whole value, it was a very negative experience. I will never go back here again and I would advise others to do the same. The owner seems like a very dishonest man.

Should not have more than a star. No customer when I was there. So, this star is for the table and atmosphere in there. I ordered rack of lamb and rfissa. After 10 mins wait, I decide to order soup cos I think lamb would take long time to cook. Harira soup was too light and no beef in it, chick pea was hard, and have only 2 pieces of onion. Then after, rfissa came, I was so disappointed. Seems like chef pour salt in it so much. Server leaned at the counter and no water for me. Rack of lamb came. I ordered well done. It came medium. I decided to wrap up and go home. Once, I gave my server $ 20 groupon coupon and my debit card. He came back and said that manager won’t accept because it should be $ 40 before oct 10. But I told him $ 20 never expired till I redeemed it. I asked server to see manager. He ended up saying that he would give me this time only(I told him never have second chance to u) and asked that guy to face me. My friend stopped me. We paid and went out. It was bad experience. The restaurant should not put the promotion over groupon if u want to get somebody money for free. Not even try it.

These are the dishes I love here: The mosaic appetizer platter with the carrots and hummus etc. The Moroccan«soul food» with the crepes and lentils; delicious. Lots of the tapas; especially the cinnamon raisin beef one, and the beef mushroom one. The savory sauces are so rich and delicious here. And the pastry with the beef and cinnamon. I love the food here. I think they need track lighting, or warmer ambient lighting, that’s my only suggestion.
