Kelly’s is a great place for a perfect Methow moment: having a drink at one of the outside tables on a warm evening, just around sundown. The light at that time, at this end of the valley, is amazing, and Kelly’s is the perfect place to appreciate it. It’s a great, low-key place to have a drink or a meal. It has indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is small and ridiculously international, but it works. They make one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, but I’ve also enjoyed the carnitas and the Peruvian stir fry. Bring a mellow attitude. The owner is also the server. He knows what’s good that day, will recommend wines and beers(all bottled, mostly European. Try the Polish lager.). He makes sure you’re taken care of, but don’t expect fast service.

Amazing service, international drinks, and a menu that accurately represents dishes from across the world. Not only was this food that you would expect from a fine restaurant in a major city, but it was done right, true to its ethnic heritage. The server/bartender/host is a kick. I don’t write five stars for nothing!

A bit spendy, but the food was lovingly made with quality ingredients and the proprietor was great. Nice selection of bottled drinks and cocktails. Worth a visit!

After a couple years of driving by Kelly’s, my boyfriend and I finally popped in for lunch on a quiet Sunday. They had just reopened from a private function and apologized profusely for not being open earlier. I thought the menu looked great so I was happy to wait a few minutes before they opened their doors! It was definitely worth the wait, the owner and his adorably pregnant and beautiful wife were attentive and charming. The beer selection was enough to bring me back, we had our choice of several delicious European beers that we can’t usually find in Canada! I decided to go with their burger served medium rare and it was TODIEFOR! It was perfectly cooked on soft and crispy bun, every bite was burger heaven and occasionally I jammed a yummy potato wedge in my mouth. And just to top off our great dining experience, as we were leaving the owner handed us a loaf of Irish Soda bread to take home. We slathered it in butter and gobbled it all up for breakfast the next day, what a treat! I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu and drink more beer!!!

Despite Steve’s perplexing inability to pronounce the names of his own signature dishes, he and his charming wife have conjured one of the most amazing restaurants in all of Washington. Conjured is the right word as this restaurant is nestled in the foothills of far-from-Seattle where you wouldn’t expect some the best food in the state… In fact, I would dissuade anybody from coming to this restaurant who has the intention to live a spartan life(or weekend) of hikes and trail food(as we had). It will haunt you during ascents and seduce you back from your intended route… You’ve been warned.

Great food, really amazing service, in an absolutely beautiful location. I’m gluten free and dairy free and I usually have challenges trying to find one dish that I can eat, but here I had to decide between many dishes because they were all so healthy and delicious! The owners are very attentive and truly want you to have a positive experience. My husband had tacos and I had the pollo saltana, both were fantastic. The outdoor dining area was great for an evening cocktail to enjoy the sunset.

Kelly’s is a GEM, up in the feet of the Cascade mountains. The food is always great and Tue drinks are very eclectic. My wife and I try to stop in as often as we can. The pulled pork sandwich is awesome, and the Kelly’s burger is one of the best burgers you’ll eat.

Really it’s more like a 4.5 star place. The food is delicious and the staff is attentive. We enjoyed both our lunch and dinner visit. It’s very convenient for those staying at Rolling Huts. If we ever make it back to the Methow Valley, we’ll definitely be back!

We’ve been coming to Kelly’s since pretty close to when it first opened and have been very impressed from the beginning. Great food, great atmosphere, run by a solid, really friendly guy. Our two boys always beg us to go to Kelly’s(not that we need any convincing) and when we walk out the door ask us when we are going next. «Can we go back for lunch? Can we eat there for breakfast? Can we go right after we ski/ride?» My kids tend to be picky eaters because they are kids. I tend to be picky because I like really good food that is prepared from quality ingredients. You can tell they’re after the same thing here: really good food made from really good stuff – and no froofiness. I even finish parts of my boys’ food if they don’t, which is pretty unusual for me. One of my favorite dishes, and my husband’s as well, is the Irish stew. This past weekend I had a house burger which was delicious. I ate almost the whole ½ pound of it and I am on the petite side. Their potato wedges are also super yummy. The breakfast fry-up is a sure bet, the soda bread some of the best I’ve had, even over most I’ve eaten in restaurants in Ireland.

This is some of the best food I have ever tasted. Everything is fresh, as much as possible is local, and it’s all delicious. The vibe of the room is relaxed and fun, as Steven and Virginia host, serve, bus, and entertain. There just these 2 and 1 cook, so don’t be in a hurry, but if you slow down and enjoy the moment you will find yourself in a pretty special place. An outdoor gravel picnic area is great for getting some sun, and the views of the fields and mountains create a perfect setting for the farm style food. The burger is a real treat.

Great little place with home cookin’. We had the Irish Stew and Dal Makhani. Both delicious. Only the Dal was spicy for me and they said it was not spicy at all — that’s my only reason for deducting a star. Still tried to eat it since it was so delicious.

After a long drive to Mazama, we were starving and ready for dinner! Friends had recommended Kelly’s to us and since we are vegetarian, said there may be only one thing on the menu that you can order but it will be awesomel Awesome, was an understatement. I honestly feel this was one on the best restaurants I have been to. Craft cocktail list is long, and the drinks were great from the presentation of the drink to the great taste. There menu rotates as much as I can tell and the night we were there we had two vegetarian options, a black bean burger or Dal. We each order one and they were amazing. We also split a dessert which was out of this world. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, almost like you are dining in someone’s home. a fire going and tables laid out just right. Customer service was top notch! Honestly, you will not go wrong going to this restaurant.

Ok, let’s get one thing out of the way: the name is friggin’ weird. No, I do not know what it means. Now that that’s over with: this is BYFAR the best place to eat in the NW-central area of Washington state… I believe it’s called the«Methow Valley», so let’s go with that. It’s in an odd location. The address is Winthrop, but I’d say it’s actually about half-way between the tiny town of Mazama and the Disney-faux-western tourist town of Winthrop. It’s off the beaten path. The food here was expensive, but incredible. This is the type of food you’d brag about if you had it in Seattle. But it’s not in Seattle, it’s the gorgeous mountain countryside. I had a burger and… I confess. I’m not really a «burger guy». I had a vegetarian friend once tell me «the only thing I really still miss sometimes is a good burger». If I were a hypothetical vegetarian, I could list a couple hundred things I’d miss more than«a burger». Anyway, the burger here was excellent. Super-quality meat and a bun that wasn’t some throw-away method to gorging on ground beef; it was quality in its own right. If I didn’t hate the word so much, I might describe it as «artisanal». They also had many quality beers available. I don’t remember what I had, only that it was good. Only downside is that this place is a bit spendy. We had been climbing in North Cascades National park so we felt justified in getting food at a place that is priced for Amazon/Microsoft employees. Just a couple of bros, munchin on beef, talkin’ bout life, havin a gay ol time… trying not to think of the crushingly long drive back to Portland.

This place rocks! My wife and I stayed at the Rolling Huts last weekend, and it was wonderful to have this place in the same parking lot(especially after dinner and more than a few excellently made drinks) :) Great food, great drinks, great service and great sourcing(most ingredients are sourced directly from the Methow Valley); it really can’t be beat.

Stayed in a Rolling Hut for two nights and did not know what to expect from Kelly’s @ Wesola Polana. Ended up not eating any of the food or drinking the booze we brought as Kelly’s set us up righteously on both counts. Scratch cocktails are served up with locally sourced meals that’ll both blow your mind. Steve advertises 111 drinks on the menu but can also mix up whatever you like. He also has 10 – 15 eastern European lagers(in bottles) available, many of which are hard to find in Seattle. By all means stay in the Rolling Huts( ) and eat @ Kelly’s. It’s a high-class metropolitan night out inside of a rustic vacation.

My family and I thought we were going camping. Instead we were treated to what essentially amounted to the best bed and breakfast(and lunch, and dinner, and drinks, and dessert) experience we’ve ever had. The camp stove never came out. The grill never got fired up. Because the food at Kelly’s(Wesola Polana) was so good we couldn’t imagine eating anything else. Tikka Masala — best I’ve ever had, including some five star Indian Restaurants. Korean Beef bowl — love the soft egg; perfectly cooked rice; complex seasonings; great comfort food. Burgers — was constantly stealing bites of my kid’s dinner because the burger patty alone was super tasty. Wish I’d had more nights here to try the Kelly’s Burger. Lamb Tacos — really interesting Mediterranean spin on the flavors while pleasing my Southwestern taco snobbery. Good tortillas that didn’t fall apart; tasty little toppings that complimented the meat; fresh, locally sourced lamb. Mmmmm. Watermelon Tomato Gazpacho — perfect end to a long, hot day. And the cocktails. Oh, the cocktails. I’m not a craft cocktail girl. But I am when I’m in the Methow Valley apparently. Again — we brought plenty of our own booze. Enough booze to keep a small army lightly intoxicated for 3 days. But instead we found ourselves ordering martinis from Steven.(Who, by the way, somehow managed to get the volume of each martini to be exactly the amount that would fit in their glasses — up to the rim but never over — every single time. I was baffled. It’s like some sort of crazy bartender magic trick.) There were no disappointments here. And the phenomenal food combined with the gracious, good-humoured host(who spent his evenings catering to our whims and amusing our children) make this a place I’d go way out of my way to go again. Like, might actually drive 3 hours from Seattle next time I’m in town and have half a day to spare. Local folks — I am so jealous of you. You get to go to Kelly’s whenever you want. GONOW!

What a great spot. All of our dishes were very tasty. Lamb tacos were flavorful– and plenty of meat. The burger was local meat and quite a nice patty with all of the fixings, and the bun was a brioche that was wonderful, as well. Everything is made in-house and locally sourced. Lots of great beer choices as well.

Absolutely amazing! We stopped in at Kelly’s at Wesola Polana last Saturday morning after reading so many great reviews. At first we were concerned — there was no one else there! But we went in anyway and took a look at the menu. The breakfast menu consists of only about 5 – 6 items. My wife and I always take this as a good sign — whenever a restaurant has a massive menu, we’ve found that the quality suffers. You really can only do so much, well. I had the Kelly’s Fry-Up, which is basically a 2-egg breakfast with both bacon and sausage, roasted potatoes and Irish soda bread. Everything was very tasty! But my wife was the really fortunate one. She ordered the ‘Freedom Toast.’ I wish I had! It was a French Toast dish made with brioche toast dipped in English custard, cinnamon and nutmeg. It had some kind of lightly crumbled cereal or something on it. Whatever it was, it was the best French toast I’ve ever tasted! My wife’s mocha was very well prepared as well. All in all, it was a great breakfast at a location that might seem a little out of the way, but definitely worth the trip! The only criticism — and I hesitate to even include it here — was that the butter that was served with the French toast was one of those little foil-wrapped butter packages. The experience at Kelly’s would have been even more spectacular if the butter served was presented in any other manner. Holding the butter package in my hand to warm it up detracted slightly from the experience. Anyway, that’s just a small complaint. Five stars! If you’re in the Methow Valley, I would definitely recommend Kelly’s at Wesola Polana. Note: Always check Unilocal’s ‘Filtered Reviews.’ One of the businesses I reviewed has a 1-star rating with only 1 review, but there are 5 ‘filtered’(hidden) reviews averaging 4.8 stars!
