Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

Perkins usually has good everyday food. We stopped in for breakfast and were vastly disappointed across the board. Even the coffee was tasteless. The menu had a variety of the usual breakfast items. We both chose skillets. When the waitress brought our skillets, they both looked very sad. We commented that they didn’t even resemble the image in the menu. My over-​easy eggs were fried hard. The deep-​fried tater tots in the skillet were very greasy with the flavor of old grease. I didn’t finish. We both forgot that cheese was in the skillet but noticed a few pieces that seemed to have been added as a garnish instead of an ingredient.

Kinda packed but I was seated with my family immidiately. All the tables were kinda crammed close. The table right next to me was literally like an inch away. The food was disappointing. Nothing special and very bland. I had a 6.99 special half a sandwhich and a salad. The lettuce on the salad was not fresh. The bread on the sandwhich was stale & barely had spread, it was dry. I did try the chicken strips & french fries from my nephews plate that was good. Waitress didn’t check up on us but we didn’t need anything so it didn’t upset me. I had a nice time but nothing about the restaurant contributed to that. I gave it a three stars because my husband did like his meal. Forgot the name but it was two fried eggs bacon sausage and hashbrowns. My daughter liked her mac and cheese and fruit. I wouldn’t return. But wouldn’t mind if they wanted to go back to try another meal.

Food is decent. Small portions. Great peanut butter pie. Pay attention to the bill — had to correct an overcharge.

Walked in, no one to show us a seat for awhile. Then she comes out chewing food! I told her I was sorry for disturbing her dinner. Ordered hot tea and the urn holding hot water was filthy with coffee spots! Ordered a coke had to wait 10 minutes, not even full then another 10 minutes for straw! Lousy service will never be back. If I could have gotten away without any stars, I would have.

Place stunk especially by kitchen; health department should probably visit; we left without ordering.

Poor service, cold food, and loud staff. The restaurant was not very busy yet the results weren’t thrilling. I wouldn’t come back. Worst Perkins I’ve ever been to.

Perkins is one of those places that… I’ve never had amazing experiences at… but I’ve never had a terrible experience at either. This experience was middle of the road, just like most all of them. Service was pretty good, food was decent, and I was happy for the most part… just seems like prices were a bit more than other Perkins visits. I kind of wish we would have picked somewhere local though.

We had great service and when we can in it just happened to be Kids Eat Free! Dinner exceeded our expectations. The kids meals are great sizes and filled up my 11 and 12 year olds.

Our server felt like a veteran who was going through the motions.
It met expectations and not a whole lot more.

On a recent stay in Wisconsin Dells I was craving a good peanut butter pie at about 10pm. What better place to get a pie then Perkins! I sent my husband on a mission and came back with an amazing looking Peanut Butter pie! The children were sleeping so it was all ours! We cut the pie and sat down on the couch to enjoy. I dug right in and OMG the cream on top had no flavor at all it was bland nothing. Supposedly they were freshly baked. The peanut butter part was better but the cream ruined the whole thing :(It was a waste of calores.

They had one waitress working the lunch hour on the day we stopped in (on a Monday).
I got the basil tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. The combo items are normally served together… However my soup came out first and arrived lukewarm. The flavor of the soup was good, but semi-​warm with two large croutons wasn’t what I was expecting. The waitress, clearly flustered, brought my grilled cheese. Two plastic slices of American cheese in a melted, buttery goop was what was served to me on my plate — and not what I was expecting at all.
Normally it wouldn’t have bugged me so much but since I could have had a better lunch at the crappy 50’s «diner» across the street, and I’ve definitely had better coming from a Perkins, I was disappointed. Our waitress was nice but overworked. The lack of waitresses was surprising. The bathroom… needs work. A lot of it. And a good cleaning.
We probably won’t be back. I was disappointed in something that should have been a simple and quick lunch.

Not too bad!
Our waitress was nice enough – she took off the extra charge on our bill when we pointed out that we didn’t order the coffee she charged us for. It was also nice that she send over another waitress to get our drinks for her when she was busy with other customers. That shows that they do care!
However, the food was not really good. I ordered this special they had of apple cinnamon french toast. I barely ate any of it, it was disgusting and not a good consistency. My husband ordered french toast and said it was just mediocre. He wasn’t impressed.
Overall, the service was alright, but I wouldn’t come back for the food. Maybe for the pie!

I usually would never have even set foot in another Perkins as long as I lived, but it was an off season Tuesday in a tourist town, and this place was close to the hotel, and one of the few things open. And we were hungry, and wanted breakfast. I was not really impressed by this place, my omelet was tolerable, and my hubby’s biscuits and gravy were edible. But, this was the cleanest Perkin’s I have ever seen, so that was a one star plus. Service was nice, and the coffee was weak, but fresh.
