Sun Mountain Spa

My friend and I planned a trip with our families to Christmas Mountain Resort last May. We decided to treat ourselves with a 60-​minute Swedish massage at Sun Mountain Spa, which is just a ½ a mile or so from the resort. My friend booked the massage 4 – 5 months in advance and confirmed with the owner via text three weeks prior to our arrival. When we arrived at our scheduled date and time, the owner realized she had made a mistake and booked a large group for a massage at the same time. At first, we were quite upset because our husbands had agreed to take our kids out to breakfast and spend some time with them while we got our massages and this was the time we had arranged to have our «girl time.» After some panicking on the owner’s part, she kindly agreed to give us free massages the following morning, if we would be willing to rearrange our schedule. We agreed to this and not only did she give us free massages, she also threw in a 30-​minute foot reflexology treatment for both of us as well at no additional cost. She definitely did not have to give us an extra treatment for free, and it was very kind of her to do that. The experience was initially disappointing but in the end, the owner did everything she could to rectify the situation and make it right. She and her husband have lots of dreams for the place (they purchased the business not too long ago) so it will be exciting to see what she does with it. Although the environment is a bit outdated, everything was handled very professionally. The therapists did a great job and the massage tables and rooms were very comfortable and relaxing.

Typical don’t judge a book by its cover place! The spa is in the basement of a building that also contains a bar/​restaurant so that can be a little off putting. The décor inside the spa is also slightly outdated. But it’s very clean and the service is phenomenal!
I had a 60 minute massage and 30 min foot reflexology treatment by April. It was amazing! One of the best massages I have ever had. I felt very comfortable the entire time, and April really took her time and made sure she addressed my problem areas. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great massage! You won’t get the full spa effect like you might at a place like Sundara, but I can almost guarantee that the quality is just as good. And the prices are much, much more reasonable.

An amazing experience at Sun Mountain Spa! My mom, sister-​in-​law and I had the pamper me service done today. The message was the perfect pressure, the facial used the perfect lotions and the foot massage was soothing. I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff is pleasant and very knowledgeable. We even got to meet the owner after the service and she is sweet and very humble about her business. If you are in the dells area, make sure to book a service! Thank you for an amazing experience.

My friend and I came to Sun Mountain spa as part of our girls getaway weekend. The perfect place to relax and the staff was extremely friendly and great with finding all the right muscles that needed extra attention. The environment was warm and cozy in the aromatherapy was relaxing.

Follow up to our first review:
The next day following our initial review on Unilocal,we got a phone call from the owner who was very concerned. She had just taken over the spa a couple month ago and is very intent on improving the spa. She offered us a partial refund and wanted to have us come back for a free facial. She seems determined to make the spa a success. I recommended people give her business a try.

My boyfriend and I came to Sun Mountain for a couples massage and could not be more pleased with our experience. The staff was on time and was able to accommodate our request for a 90 minute massage instead of the 60 minutes we originally booked. My boyfriend had a deep tissue massage and he said it was the perfect blend of working out the kinks and pure relaxation. I had a swedish massage and felt like putty by the end :) Sun Mountain is definitely a great experience.
