Great Expectations

I had the Asian salmon tacos, and they were amazing. The wonton shell was very light and crisp and the hoisin/​plum sauces weren’t overpowering.
I got the house salad instead of the veggie fried rice that dish comes with so I can’t speaks for that part but the salad, particularly the croutons, and cranberry vinaigrette dressing were very good,
I ordered on the lighter side to save room for the cranberry bread pudding they had on the board but was somewhat disappointed by it. I love cranberries and bread pudding but something about the flavors/​sweetness didn’t do it for me. I think I was expecting more sweet/​sour interplay but did appreciate the pecans in it.

My friend and I dropped in for lunch at the suggestion of some local folks and the temptation of a «cupcake of the day». I had the hot beef sandwich which was phenomenal. It was tender and flavorful, more like pot roast and served with au jus and homemade chips. Delicious! My friend had the Cuban of which I also took a bite of and thought it was very tasty. He enjoyed sweet potato fries as his side. We both thought the food was great and the service was excellent. We were there probably after the lunch rush, around 1 pm so got a table right away and were served quickly.
I tried the cupcake of the day, which was a vanilla cake filled with and topped with strawberry rhubarb on vanilla icing. It was fresh and flavorful. My friend had the carrot cake which he enjoyed as well.
I would definitely stop here again when I’m in the neighborhood. Great meal!

Great food and service. They change food choices regularly, and have great specials. Every meal I have had there so far has been outstanding.

THE best restaurant in the area. Their menu is creative, the quality of food from local providers is outstanding, and the owners and staff are exceptional. Each time we have gone there in a group of six or more, each person orders something different to share, and there is friendly banter over who ordered the best.

Excellent food with a nice array of choices! You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose here; just be sure you are able to go during the lunch period as this is the only time they are open.
