A very friendly family run store. They have decent collection of fresh vegetables and a good collection of frozen food. They are always happy to help you and answer your questions. I just love the fresh samosas they sell. I used to go there a lot since this is the closest Indian store from where I live. But over time I have caught expired products on their shelves a few times. This is a big negative factor for me. I wished they were more careful of the goods they keep in their store.

This is a family run Indian grocery store. They are extremely organized and have a wide selection of Indian groceries, spices and produce. They also have a good selection of Indian microwave dinners. This is the place to buy good quality Basmati rice that is very reasonably priced. They also have lentils and beans. Great place for a vegetarian/vegan to find delicious ingredients. Go check it out!

It’s not especially clean as already previously stated but you can find a wide array of spices and prepared Indian foods, ice cream(cashew and raisin ice cream — yummee!), as well as not so common vegetables — e.g. bitter gourd, Indian eggplant, Chinese eggplant, okra, etc. Sometimes the vegetables are not the best but in general I’ve found them pretty decent. Regarding prepared foods, they have samosas(good!), batter-dipped and fried long chilli peppers, roti/pratha, and some other stuff. They just started doing Tiffin for $ 9.99, which I think is quite good. For their Tiffin, they’ll put the food into plastic containers for ease of transport. It’s comprised of 4 pieces of roti, basmati rice, Daal, and a sabji(stir fried vegetables) — enough to feed 2 people. You have to pre-order and pay 2 days in advance and pick it up 2 days later. I had it last night and enjoyed it. I’ll definitely be ordering Tiffin again soon.

A store no bigger than some convenient stores, yet with a wide selection of Indian groceries — spices, rice and lentils, sauces, spice pastes, condiments, pre-made fresh and frozen, mixes, produce. I called to see if they had curry leaves, which we like with potatoes. They had plenty, and they were very fresh and fragrant, better than they usually were at the store that closed in Arlington Center. The coriander was a large bunch, very fresh, though I wish it included the roots. I was surprised to find fresh fenugreek(methi), with roots. Some or all of the fresh herbs are delivered on Thursdays, according to the management. They even had fresh drumstick vegetable! I have never seen it outside of India, except frozen. This one is especially nice in sambars.(Hint: split it in half and eat the inside, not the tough shell.) At 50 cents each, they are pricey, but again they are rare here, so far. I found a small section of interesting Sri Lankan foods in jars. I asked them a question about them, and they said they had no idea — the Sri Lankans wrote down the names and they bought them. The cashew curry was tasty, though I prefer my cashews more crisp, yet would expect them if stewed and canned to be soft like this. They had a few fresh breads, including flat breads made with fresh fenugreek, one kind made with wheat, another with millet. Some older reviews on the Web complain that foods are out of date. That happens in ANY grocery store, and it’s always worth checking dates, but I guess I have seen it more commonly in Indian stores, which can’t always get fresh supplies of items in demand. I did NOT see any of that in this visit(nor did I search for them). I also note that the current management has owned the store for two years, and it is possible that the complaints refer to the previous management. The store smelled fresh and clean to me. The location is reasonably convenient for me. This store will supply me with many of the things I need from an Indian grocery, especially fresh herbs. Four stars rather than five, because some prices are a bit high, and I would prefer a larger store with a larger selection, especially of fresh and frozen produce.

Aptly named: it’s a conveniently located little grocery in Woburn Center behind the CVS. So if I’m doing a bunch of errands I can just stop in for some yogurt or a cucumber without having to go all the way to the supermarkets on the edge of town. There’s plenty of parking in the municipal lot. They have a remarkable variety of stuff, 90% is Indian but there is a hodgepodge of other ethnic or hard-to-find speciality items. Sometimes you see Masa Harina, sunflower oil, tamarind-chili candy from Thailand. There are occasional Indian baked goods in a covered dish on the counter. And it’s the only place in Woburn that has the zebra rice in the white bag.(The best basmati IMHO). The prices are very good for nuts and chutneys. The vegetables are OK. It’s convenient to have produce in Woburn Center if you need a potato or an onion for a recipe, but the freshness and availability are unpredictable. Some of the grocery items look a little dusty, I would watch out for expiration dates. Bottom line: convenient location with surprisingly good variety and prices. Could be a little cleaner and fresher.
