I have not been to the brick and mortar store, but I have placed a number of orders through the online store. My experiences with the online store have generally been poor. The experience reeks of the early 90s when people were just figuring out that you could use the internet to sell things. It can take weeks for items like shoes to ship, the inventory on the site has no connection with inventory in real life, business hours on the site don’t match their actual business hours, prices are full list, and that discount code you bought? It probably isn’t going to work until you’ve wasted a few hours of your time harassing someone on the phone. Everything that their competition(such as TGW) does right, these guys do wrong.

This store has been consistently great for me over the years. A big, national chain has recently moved into the area and I’m hoping the Golf Zone survives. It’s locally owned! The reasons I shop at the Golf Zone: — They carry everything. — The staff is reliably great. I’ve consistently gotten great advice and I’m always matched with the best product, not the most expensive one. I’m not a particularly good golfer but I always feel comfortable here. — Their prices are often the best. I know because I check. — It’s locally owned! This is my favorite golf store.

I bought an expensive pair of golf shoes at the GolfZone in Woburn, MA last season. I wore them all year long and thought I probably had gotten my money’s worth just in that season alone. While moving some stuff around the house, I picked up my golf shoes and saw that there was a tear on the inside lining of the shoe. Nothing crazy. I was in the GolfZone a few weeks ago, and in conversation, brought up what happened to one of my shoes, and asked if there was a quick way to replace the lining. The gentlemen told me that I didn’t even need to worry about that, and that Adidas offered it’s customers a 2 year warranty on their shoes. So I brought in my $ 180 pair of golf shoes, and the GolfZone shipped them back, and had a brand new pair of shoes for me the next week shipped to them by Adidas! Same high end pair of shoes, not a «refurbished» pair, or anything like that. Being in sales and customer service myself, I’ve seen my fair share of poor service. You go into a Dick’s Sporting Goods or Sports Authority and they care more about their payroll and cutting hours rather than making sure someone is there to help you out. The GolfZone definitely goes against the grain of the big box chains by offering top notch customer service. To elaborate… I went into Dick’s last year before I knew about the GolfZone to try out a new driver that I wanted to buy. I waited for about 30 minutes to even be acknowledged by an employee when I decided to just leave. I went into the golfzone a few days later, somebody actually said«Hello!» to me as I walked in… go figure! And I was able to swing the club I came in for within 20 seconds. Also… that $ 180 dollar pair of golf shoes that I bought, only cost me $ 150 at the GolfZone! Check these guys out, you’ll be glad you did!

Luckily this is a great golf store, since there are no others in the area, but compared to those north or south of Boston, this is my favorite. They have a fantastic selection of clubs with two bays for hitting in the store. Their prices are usually typical to even better on certain items like shoes. They have a great selection of bags, pulll carts, balls, and accessories. The only thing I wish they would improve on is their selection of women’s apparel. They are also equipped to do regripping, reshafting, etc. I recently had a full club fitting performed and I was very impressed. They have the fitting options for all the major brands combined with a launch monitor for everything you need for an optimal fitting. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and as mentioned before they have an expansive selection of clubs to try. I also want to add that they are very female friendly. This unfortunately is not always the case for women in golf stores with the staff often ignoring women or assuming they don’t know equipment. The guys here are all very helpful. I recommend going here for any of your golfing needs.
