Vivint Solar

Don’t bother with these guys. I got a door to door solicitation, that didn’t bother me, I invited him and used an hour of my time going over things. I set up an appointment after they took all my personal info and all was well. A guy came out as scheduled but he ended up opening up my breaker panel and drilling into a wire causing a huge spark, some smoke and he tripped a breaker.
The guy literally said to me «keep an eye on that if there is something wrong let us know» Um yeah, sparks and smoke is something wrong, someone should have fixed this immediately. Instead, I had to call the next business day and have some guy come out to fix it during work hours, meaning I had to leave work to meet him there.
Fine, they fixed their mistake… but its been 3 weeks since they came out and I have NO quote, no information on panels, NOTHING! I haven’t back from anyone… so after wasting personal time at work to fix their mistake, wasting hours with talking to the first guy and the inspection guy and after giving my personal info to these people, I have nothing to show for it.
I emailed them asking them if they had an update… no response.
Waste of time, don’t bother with Vivint, find another company who actually wants your business.

One star because the local rep (door to door unsolicited sales) was pleasant and professional.
I can’t tell you if you’ll save money with Vivint-that’s because my installation was done on Aug 20^th and today, Dec. 13^th, my panels are still not functional.
Most importantly, I no longer have heat in my living, dining room, or main hallway. My heat worked fine in those rooms prior to the installation and I’ve contacted the company twice-​they promised to send an electrician out and haven’t done so. But then again, seems they over promise and under deliver-​I was initially told the panels took 8 weeks to be turned on and fully functional.
I deeply regret signing on. There are several competitors actively courting new solar customers in MA-​I wish I had gone elsewhere and have told friends and family to do so.
On a positive note, I am saving money due to VIVINT-​because I have no heat in half of my house.
