Fusion Buffet is the first ever Vietnamese buffet I’d ever heard of. For that reason alone, it’s worth a gander. The food, although a smaller than average selection at the buffet, is all quality. Plus, there’s even a separate area where you can special order some Vietnamese over rice dishes and phở! Drinks are included in the price of the buffet. Coming from the city, the location is out of the way, so what we usually do is Fusion Buffet + Top Golf which is right around the corner. It’s def the best way to spend your Sunday fun-day!

A Viet buffet in the ‘Burbs?! No way!!! Well it’s half right. I say half right because it absolutely has a ton of Vietnamese items you would never see at any other Asian buffet. But it still has the greasy Chinese staples like sweet & sour chicken, plus the shameful tiny section of American buffet items. My best friend’s favorite food is buffets. She eats like a beast yet is skinny as a rail… oh how I envy her. So when she wants to go out to eat, I know to always suggest somewhere she can eat endlessly for a cheap price, that’s just how she rolls. Weekend pricing is $ 12.50 all day on Saturday & Sunday which includes a drink. Weekday lunch pricing is under $ 9, not too shabby. Only open for lunch on Mondays, closed on Tuesdays, every other day is normal hours. Of course the coolest part of Fusion Buffet is the made to order section. You can get phở with your choice of protein, a Vietnamese pancake(Banh xeo), and Bun thit nuong. It takes just five minutes to cook up whatever you like. The buffet has dumplings, orange chicken, sweet & sour chicken, a lot of seafood dishes like salt & pepper shrimp I sadly can’t touch due to my allergies, fish cooked several different ways, green beans, chow mein. They have many unique offerings differentiating them from the standard Asian buffets like sriracha chicken wings, banh mi sandwiches, Viet spring rolls, just to name a few. Chia seed drink! Yummy and refreshing dessert. Cookies are pretty wack with barely chocolate chips, skip them. Soft serve in chocolate, vanilla or mixed is A-OK though not the greatest. They have sprinkles, nuts and chocolate sauce you can top your ice cream with. The container for the sauces are all sticky & pretty gross though… would be better if they bought a dispenser for the various add-ons. Service was very attentive and friendly, way above & beyond compared to other buffets. I’ve been sad about my old favorite Crazy II Buffet closing and Fusion Buffet will serve as a fine replacement. No sushi or hibachi here but the super unique Viet offerings make up for it,.

Fusion Buffet lives up to its moniker by serving a fusion of Vietnamese and Americanized Chinese staples. I enjoyed both on my visit here. This restaurant does seem to stand above its cookie cutter Chinese buffet competitors. The sriracha chicken wings are the bomb. Seriously. The flavor is excellent and don’t worry about the heat — it’s not threatening at all. The breaded chicken skin is perfection itself and coupled with the sweet sriracha sauce. Pure deliciousness… I enjoyed the shrimp spring rolls quite a bit — very herbaceous and fresh tasting. While crab rangoon is not a Vietnamese dish, I have a hard time walking past it without sampling. In this case, the crab rangoon had the perfect balance of sweet and savory filling. If you can visit during a weekday lunch, this buffet is an excellent deal. I didn’t try any of the cook-to-order choices(phở, for example), which are available on evenings and weekends. I wish Fusion was closer to home. I’d definitely come here regularly.

An Asian buffet with Vietnamese food? Sign me up. After my first visit to Fusion Buffet, I ended up eating seven plates of food and both my stomach and wallet approved. The place is small but the quality of food is better than most of the buffets in the Chicagoland area in this price range. For dinner, they make phở, Hong Kong style ribeye steaks, and bun thit nuong to order. I ended up making several trips because it was so good. There was also plenty spring rolls and bahn mi sandwiches. Although there are mixed reviews, I’m writing from the viewpoint of someone with a big appetite. If you’re like me and love buffets but prefer value over cost, then Fusion Buffet is a definite must try.

My dad is a thrifty old Filipino man who loves buffets. So when I heard about a Vietnamese buffet that serves phở and fresh spring rolls, my first call was to my dad! We drove over on a Friday for lunch. Prices are incredibly cheap! Only paid $ 16 for the two of us. Pretty clean as far as buffets go. It’s a smaller buffet, but they have some quality choices. 4 soups to choose from, typical Chinese buffet dishes, some American food. My favorites were the fresh spring rolls(shrimp!), Sriacha chicken wings(cripsy & sweet, actually not spicy), and the packed bahn mi sandwiches. Didn’t get to try the phở because it’s only served on the weekends and at dinner time.

I was super excited to find out this place exists only about 10 minutes from my house. I mean who would of thought an AYCE Vietnamese buffet existed? I knew not to get my hopes up too high being that it was only $ 12/person. Although I knew not to put my expectations too high this buffet still fell short. I love the fact that all the Vietnamese food was cooked to order so everything was hot and fresh, but boy did some of the items lack flavor and ground pork in banh xeo? That’s the first. The phở was lackluster and the bun rieu wasn’t too great either. The best thing out of the cook to order was the bun thit nuong cha gio, quite tasty. The other part of the buffet had frozen pizza, various fried chinese items(crab rangoon, eggrolls, etc) and not enough spring rolls(I went up at least 3 times and never got one). The che(Vietnamese desserts) weren’t chilled and didn’t look too appetizing as if they’ve been out for awhile. Our service was great and accommodating for a party of 30+, but the food itself is just A-OK. Nothing to rave about.

Ok… I feel like a black sheep but I seem to be the only one here who don’t feel the rave of this place. First, I am Vietnamese so that could make me a tough critic for Vietnamese food, but let me just say that I would be willing to pay more if it means the food would be better. Also, let’s just say my husband and I came in to eat and within 20 minutes, I felt like I was done. We left this buffet in under 50 minutes and for us, that’s not usual. We’ve spent longer times at a regular restaurant than that! There is so much to write about but I will just sum it up and say that the only thing I liked here was the watermelon and the seed-drink desert. Yes, only those two things. Maybe my experience had a lot to do with the fact that we visited on a Friday night at 8pm, an hour before their closing(9pm closing is early!!). But I have always think that a place should maintain their food quality throughout the day up until they close. But like many other buffets, they didn’t have much of anything left for us when we came. But more than that, everything tasted off and substituted. The made-to-order station was very understaffed. They had small portions of everything, the soup noodles tasted bland, the Banh Xeo was burnt and filled with mostly bean sprout. The deserts tasted odd as in I questioned was was in it. And the machine-icecream tasted like an icee. Even that was not done right. The coke was also watered-down. Everywhere I looked there was only women staff and there isn’t enough of them to handle everything even though the place only had 25 – 30 people eating. I felt bad for them because they seem to be trying. But still, it can’t sway me to want to come back here again unless they make some serious changes to their food quality and their staffing. I’m disappointed to say that the best Viet buffet in my opinion is still in Houston. Chicago have not perfected this yet!
