I love these guys(and gals). Call with a question and they will make sure you hang up with an answer. Walk in, and they not only direct you to the aisle you want, they also alert the person in that part of the store what you’re looking for. They know what sets them apart from the big-box stores, and it’s not just proximity. They know their products, know how to use them, and they even know what they don’t have. Window screen repair and blade sharpening are some of a services they offer. Their rentals are also very handy. I am a repeat renter of their 100′ sewer rooter, which costs a fortune to buy new. If you’re spending under $ 7.50, bring cash, at the time of this review, as the little guys get screwed by the card companies. Otherwise grab something else you’ll need to push yourself over that threshold and save a later trip.

I received Valuepak envelope coupons in the mail today. Found Warnimont’s coupon for 40 lb. Bag of Top Soil for $ 1.00 Limit of 10 bags. I usually purchase 10 bags at the start of the season so thought I would stop in this weekend to pick up the 10 bags. Looking at the coupon further, the expiration date is 4÷14÷16. What is the point of sending of offering a coupon for only one day??? I called Warnimonts to alert the manager Valuepak/USPS is not doing them any favors by delaying delivery of time sensitive material. I asked the manager if he would honor the coupon through the weekend since I would like to purchase 10 bags, and without hesitation he replied«NO». Wow! If you’re going to spend the money to send coupons through the mail, allow more time and put forth the effort to offer better customer service than you did today!!!

So helpful and friendly. Helped me pick out paint, carried to the car for me since I had a sleeping baby in my arms, and even ran back in the store to grab me extra stir sticks. I love the small town feel of this store, and would definitely recommend it to anyone local who needs hardware or supplies. Good job Warnimont’s!

I had a problem with a strike plate on an interior door and was hoping to either A) buy a strike plate with a larger opening or B) enlarge the opening of my existing strike plate.(I went to another hardware store in the area and they suggested that I had to fill the screw holes with wood filler and remount my existing strike plate. No mention of cutting out my existing strike plate.) When I spoke with the man behind the service counter at Warnimount, he said strike plate openings are pretty standard but if I could tell him how much needed to be shaved off, he could enlarge the existing strike plate. Problem solved. I also came in with three different light bulbs, hoping to buy more energy efficient bulbs. I don’t know if you have shopped light bulbs lately but it is bewildering. I stood in the aisle for about a minute with a puzzled look on my face and one of the workers came by and asked if she could help me find anything. She spent 10 minutes finding all the bulbs I needed. Nice customer service!

Went in to store and asked owner to cut a piece of rod for me. The store had done it before and used a hacksaw and had trouble doing it. When he started using the hacksaw, i explained to him the other employee in the past found using an electric saw much easier. He then in a huff handed back my rod to me and said he didn’t have time for me and he couldn’t do it. This was after i just spend approximately 100 dollars on an electrical cord and other items including the rod i wanted cut. I left the store and have only been back a few times since that day in «2010». The other employees have always been kind and courteous to me. The owner should take note of that when servicing customers. I am willing to give them another try but they need to earn my loyalty again. Because of that incident i took off 2 stars!

I just have to update — these people are so nice and helpful. If they have it, they will help you find it. When I call with random questions, they actually know the answer and don’t have to transfer me all over the place. And they offer knife sharpening — at the bargain price of $ 2 for knives under 8″, $ 3 for any larger. All of my knives are 7.5″ or under, so I got four of my six done for a whopping $ 8. And it was a breeze — I handed them over in a shoebox, sheathed in cardboard; when I returned an hour later the cashier said«are you here for your knives?» They had been parked at the front register, wrapped nicely and ready for me to go. Rang me up, recommended I wash them before using, and I was on my merry way. All in all, a great local hardware store with fantastic staff.
