The best drive in burgers around, they also have some really good root beer. Kinda pricy but well worth it.

First place I came to do a root beer run while in town on a business trip. The root beer here was very sweet and creamy, with hints of vanilla. I paid $ 1.30+tax for 16 oz cup.

You want to hit up a drive in restaurant this is the place. Good burgers, tasty root beer, and potato planks are their specialties. Prices are reasonable. For those who don’t want to eat outside or to go they do have an indoor dining area.

Local favorite, never disappoints. King Louie’s is a fun little drive in bringing back a little bit of the past. Enjoy the amazing homemade root beer and the potato planks with your choice of sandwich.

This was the best burger I have ever had in my life! A big cheesey greasy burger, cooked to perfection! The fries we amazing too! The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was very clean! I would drive up here from where I live in Oklahoma just to have one of there burgers! And it’s not to pricy. The most expensive thing was like $ 7! And if you like rootbeer, you have to try the homemade rootbeer! It tasted like a rootbeer float with no ice cream in it! I loved it!

We love King Louie’s! We are frequent visitors and I don’t think we’ve ever had anything bad. Potato planks are awesome as are the mushrooms too! Husband swears by the double King Louie with cheese! We will continue our visits!

King Louie’s is the only reason for anyone to visit Wood River. Get the King Louie with cheese & watch it change your life. Once you’ve finished, leave this town as soon as possible to avoid trouble. Cheers!

I had eaten here twice. We had the burgers. They’re not bad but not good according to the hype. I don’t understand why so many people hype up this joint. If you’re looking for cheap eats and greasy food… this is the place for you.

Great service, small establishment but makes a large impact through their burgers and other awesome treats.. Ordering the ROOTBEER is a MUST.. especially since is homemade! Good olé fun! Drive up and stay in your car .they come to you! Or come on in and enjoy the black and white checkered floors, red tables and King Louie wall of fame while you endulge yourself in their amazing burgers.

Love this place the employees are friendly the prices are reasonable and everything is made fresh. I love the chili cheese burger and fried mushrooms. They made their own root beer which my family loves. Yes the wait is a bit longer than a lot of burger joints but that’s the price you pay for fresh. Seriously everyone should try this place you won’t be disappointed.

Friends just introduced us to King Louie’s and we loved it! Great food at great prices from friendly people! I had the King Louie with everything on it and potato planks with cheese and bacon. It was so yummy and the portion was so big I couldn’t finish it. We will definitely be back!

What can you say super sweet homemade root beer. Chili dog with onions and cheese. Onion rings were hot and fresh. The pizza burger is also very good.

This place is amazing! Not sure how I have managed to live around here my entire life and I’m just now hearing about King Louis, but glad I now know about it! They have amazing burgers, potato planks with your choosing of fixings on it, home made corn dogs, coney dogs and several appetisers to choose from as well. Also there famous root beer or root beer floats! If your up for the challenge, they also have a King of the jungle challenge which consists of a 2 pound burger, loaded potato planks and a 32oz soda of your choice! You get 30 minutes to finish everything and your reward is your picture added to the short list of people who have completed the challenge and a King Louis T-shirt! I’ve yet to try this challenge though rest assure it is on my bucket list! If you have not had this place, do yourself a favor and get there immediately! What are you waiting for? Get up, get the family and get in the car! Your stomach will thank you and so will your family!

Louie’s is a quaint little drive in type diner in Wood River. This is the place Togo for some small town greasy food. The root beer is exceptional. Service is friendly and fast. Portions aren’t huge, but you shouldn’t be hungry after spending $ 7 – 10 at Louie’s for lunch.

Went here for a quick dinner yesterday. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger an my boyfriend ordered a king Louie burger and a large soda. I was expecting it to be totally awesome from how many stars it got. It took about 10 minutes maybe more to get our food and our soda. When I pulled of my top bun my party was literally the size of a half dollar. Literally. I payed almost 4 dollars for a bun and some ketchup. Never going back. Terrible idea.

King Louie’s is a blast from the past. Forget Sonic, this is what a drive in used to be like, None of the food is particularly healthy or cutting edge. But what it is is GOOD! Carhops, the radio, a good burger and sides; sometimes it doesn’t get better than this! This is a dying breed so hurry before it disappears. Ok the ambiance isn’t great, The refinery is literally across the road from it, but thats part of the blue collar appeal. So drive-in, order and let yourself go back in time to the way a drive-in restaurant used to be! And also Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… Root Beer

Grandmother lived down the block from King Louie’s so I grew up going there when we visited her. Things haven’t changed. Still the same DELICIOUS potato planks, burgers and best home made root beer I’ve ever had!

okay I’m kind of a health nut, but when I need my burger fix this is the place to go. I usually go here once a month and then I have to jog it off for at least two days. LOL! anyways the double cheese burger is excellent and the chili cheese fries are too!!! i love their homemade root beer. my friends and I usually sit outside where they have two picnic tables. its not a huge big mac land where the children all play on jungle gym equipment, but I like the hometown atmosphere!!!

I never knew this place existed! Went here on a gorgeous day and drank their homemade root beer! It was a little too sweet actually but still yummy. I ordered their 21 piece shrimp and onion rings. The rings were a little dry and the shrimp still had their tails on them. Ick. I dont think they know you’re not supposed to eat those. However i did enjoy how fast the service was. Unlike charlie’s root beer stand in which you have to order ahead of time if you want to avoid a 30+ min wait.
