I am visiting the area from Texas, and thought this was just a soup/sandwich type place. It was that, and SO much more! Nice atmosphere, delicious food, and very nice staff. I will definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

I was in town from Wisconsin visiting some friends in Logan and saw the great reviews the place got and wanted to check it out. What a cute little find in an area where there isn’t much. Excellent craft beer(Brick Street) produced by locals, and really good food. I had the fish special(wanted the scallops but they were out), it came with some wonderful veggies and was cooked perfectly. I would definitely stop back here on my way thru Iowa again.

I have been coming to Woodbine for 30+ years and the only good place to eat was th Golden Slipper. Roux was a great change. They fry everything in Iowa and never serve freash veggies. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was excellent. I had a riby steak that was great. Not a TEXAS cal. Steak but very good for Iowa. Great job! I will return.

We heard great things about the new restaurant on the main street of Woodbine. It was hard to imagine that it would live up to all the positive comments we heard. We finally had a chance to try it and there were no disappointments. Atmosphere for a small town restaurant was really cool. Original wood floors along with brick walls and antique doors for decoration was a perfect fit. Five stars for the atmosphere. Next the service. Amber was our waitress and she did a wonderful job. She was very helpful in her suggestions, attentive to our needs and very polite. five stars for the service. Finally the food. We ordered the salmon and the shrimp. Because it was Wednesday the second entrée was half-price. Salad portion was huge and the sides were outstanding. Shrimp had a wonderful roasted taste and the salmon was very fresh. Food gets a five star. For a dining experience as a whole we could not recommend Roux any higher.

Saw all the 5 stars given & was sure we wouldn’t give that high for a small town restaurant. Wrong. We’ll deserved 5 star in fact. We stopped about 1:30 for lunch. The server was super nice & friendly. I had ham & cheese sandwich with home made chips. Sandwich not real exciting? Sorry, this one was. Chips were great too. Had second half of sandwich after we got home tonight. I didn’t like the beer cheese soup, but she said it was beer, so was my fault. I don’t like beer taste. Husband had beef tips, mashed potatoes & gravy. It was also very good. The prices were very reasonable. Wish they were closer to us!

Simply Phenomenal. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Iowa. The food is to the point, not over complicated or saturated with too much fluff. Instead of trying to add a concoction of ingredits they strive to make what they have taste its absolute best. They take great care to ensure the food you eat is well sourced and local if possible. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly. Cannot recommend enough.

What a Great addition to Woodbine and area. Held our 50 year class reunion luncheon there, served 33 people with great service. the lunch was very reasonably priced and tasty. I went back for Brunch on Sunday, again great taste and value served family style. This is a true Bistro in r the heart of rural America. Again this would be well worth a drive to try, I did 600 miles.

Great food! Good service. I’ve had both lunch and dinner. Lunch is reasonably priced and large portions. When I came for dinner I tried the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly and the sides were awesome. I’ll definitely be back.

We ate here on a Friday night… our first visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice and well suited to a downtown with brick streets. The menu is very limited but is reasonably priced. We were a party of 4. We ordered grilled salmon and grilled chicken. Our food was not hot especially the vegetables and potatoes. I ordered asparagus with feta cheese. I couldn’t detect any feta in the dish. If you are looking for large portions, you will be disappointed. We were just hoping for good food. We will give them another try as we know they are a new business. The service was good.
