I don’t really like coming here though the food is decent. I feel like if I am going to patronize your business you should at least act like you are happy to see customers or at least greet them with a friendly hello. All the reason why I’ve only been here twice in 10 years. Yeah their food is good, but I am big on customer service and if you aren’t even going to bother to say hello, I can’t spend my money here. My friend wanted to come here and I told him what I experience the first time I came and sure enough it was the same attitude again. I ordered the curry chicken and paid for it as soon as he gave me my change I asked «would it be possible to get extra sauce?» His response was «now I have to go tell them in the back» like I was inconveniencing him. Do you think I care that you have to take 10 extra steps to ask for extra sauce, just ask and stop being lazy. Newsflash, you aren’t doing me a favor.

The setting is very clean. The service is ok, however the chef need a lot of help when it comes to cooking.
I really tired to like this place so much so I went on 3 different occasions and the food was not right. I could not even tell my other island friends about it because they would laugh at me. Maybe for folks who don’t know true Jamaican food it’s good, I don’t blame them because the options are very limited in the NOVA area. Nothing to compare it against.

Love the food, music, people and clean bathroom. I am pregnant and have been craving authentic Caribbean food and this has done me well. My husband and I come at least every other week. We always get their spicy beef patty and the jerk chicken large combo (includes two fried plantains, rice with beans or white rice, chicken and steamed cabbage mix). Pairs perfectly with an Everfresh drink especially Papaya flavor! The small size is a great portion but we love left overs! I can eat off my plate for at least two full meals! Must try! Worth the ride to Woodbridge from Alexandria!

I really wish they would change there rule for calling in only sea food cause I spent my whole break here waiting for food and driving. The food is great though, It gave me my fix for jerk chicken.

Best Caribbean food in the area ! The jerk chicken is my favorite but the ox tails & patties are equally great. Recommend to any & everyone looking for the closest to home made you can find !

Satisfying and delicious. The flow of register to table could be improved but i was pleased with the cleanliness, flavor, and price. We’ll be back.
Details: beef cheese patty was savory but crust was average, jerk chicken was moist and spicy enough to get the sinuses going, the plantains were sugary, and the portions were generous. Owner is a little brusque but the rough exterior seems to cover a courteous guy as he walked over to our end of the restaurant to offer us a highchair.

Ok so to begin, I eat a lot of Caribbean food and got lots of Jamaican friends. So when I say this is some good food I mean it! The coco bread was average price and average taste nothing too special. But the food was pretty good. I prefer white meat but the cashier said that was not an option for the meal, they only sell dark with it. I am into white me lately. So I took the dark, for the $ 9 price (for a small meal) i got a good bit of dark me so I can’t complain. 3 thick pieces of dark makes up for it no white. The rice had sufficient flavor and the chop cabbage was pretty good (not a fan of it) but still tasty. I got 2 pieces of fried plantain but it’s was good, not too greasy. The place was clean and the food delivered in good time. Only down side is the location and they weren’t play any reggae or Caribbean music

Love this place. Nice people. Good food good price. It’s a must try.

Love this place! It is the best I have found so far. Their roti is too thick and hard but it’s better than any other place! Curry goat, curry chicken and stewed oxtail is amazing! I definitely recommend it! I wish they had white rice and dahl but it’s okay. I like most of the employees but there is one employee that is rude, he’s an older gentleman. He’s put an enormous amount of pepper in my food that makes the food uncomfortable — and I had asked for medium pepper. He also ridiculed Trinidadians when he figured out I was from there since I just asked if they by chance had doubles. Very rude but I still go for the food!

Very happy to find this place! Curry goat, ox tail, goat roti, beef patties — all absolutely delicious. Easy to find location and plenty of seating.

I have been twice, both for ox tail. While waiting I have a spicy meat patty and a Ting. The first time I went it before lunch time so ordering was a breeze. Small oxtail to try it out, it was good. Not just taste wise but the portion was nice too. Next visit, I upgraded to the large size.
The reason this place is only 4 stars is because you can only call in seafood orders! What logic is that? So I drive like a fool to get there and there’s a line. I spent my entire lunch break going, ordering, waiting, and coming back. Oxtail is not Jeep friendly eating. It was good, and I’ll return but not on my lunch break.
Please change this seafood only policy for phone orders and I’ll change my rating.

First time here tonight with a friend. Food was very delicious. I like that they tell you before ordering that the jerk chicken was very spicy. I love spicy food so it was perfect to me. Seasoned just right. Portion size was huge. Very clean restaurant. You place your order at the register and then wait for your number to be called. Staff was very friendly. Was told if you want a beef patty to come earlier they do run out. We went close to closing time. If you order before they close they don’t rush you out. Definitely telling all my friends about this place.

Perfect… I soo love Unilocal!!!Being a newbie to VA, I took that drive on over and thank goodness it was worth it…
I had the escovitch, they do ask you if you prefer spicy or mild. (I like it spicy baby), combo curry goat and stew chicken. And coco bread… Everything was perfect. The escovitch came at market price to be expected. That was $ 20 bucks alone ample enough for two persons… also, if you want escovitch, call in ahead so it will be ready when you get there!!!

The food is pretty good it’s the closest Jamaican place in the Woodbridge area so if I don’t feel like making jerk or curry I will def go here to get some. The guy I think is the owner is really nice too and the new location is bigger so that’s good

I ordered the Jerk chicken wings entrée which consisted of chicken wings, brown rice, plantiar and veggies everything was delicious.
My husband ordered the goat entrée and he also enjoyed his meal. I tasted goat meat for the first time and I liked it.
I will recommend this restaurant thus far.

Hands down, the best Jamaican food I’ve had in Northern VA. It’s a shame I have to travel all the way to Woodbridge but every time it is well worth it. The curry chicken and jerk chicken are amazing! The jerk chicken is like fire.literally. Full of flavor with the accompanying heat from the spices makes me feel like I’ve never really had real Jamaican food before. Well worth the visit!

1^st visit. The restaurant was clean and smelled good when i walked in. The guy taking the order wasn’t the friendliest person. However, I wasn’t too surprised because I read other reviews that he was rude. He wasn’t rude to me he just wasn’t friendly. We ordered a lot of food $ 50.00 worth and our orders were ready in ten minutes.
I ordered brown stew chicken. It was ok. Not sure if it’s worth the price. Not sure if I would order it again either. I also ordered the chicken roti. The chicken roti was tasty. My family ordered the jerk chicken wing meal and they were pleased.
They provide utensils and package the food ok.
May consider trying them again if I’m desperate for some West Indian food and I can’t get back to Brooklyn to get some.

The food: very good ! Full of flavor and they have a decent menu of options. I always get a beef patty on the side .
Customer Service: the staff aren’t over the top friendly but they aren’t rude either. They will explain the menu to you and give suggestions but nothing over the top. I have never dine in I always get my good to go .
They do not over fill the plates so if you are hungry a small plate won’t do the trick. If you can make it for the lunch special that’s probably your best deal.

Went to Irie with some coworkers, and it was very good. Everything was seasoned well and all of us were pleased. The food had all the good Jamaican flavors. Nice and spicy (not to bad, but has a kick). This was our first and only time going and it wasn’t a disappointment. If your in the Woodbridge, VA area and want some good Jamaican food Irie is definitely a good stop.

I’ve visited this place on two occasions. The first time I order the shrimp roti which was delicious! The second time I ordered the veggie meal which comes with rice & peas, vegetables & plantain. I was not as pleased. The rice was dry & lacked flavor, as did the vegetables; the plantain was the best part but you ONLY get two. Overall, I guess it’s hit or miss with this place depending on what you order & when (who’s cooking).
I will also say this place is over priced for the small amount of food you get.
