The store has decent furniture at ok prices but like most furniture stores, they have a predatory sales staff. I GETIT… I GETIT! You’re battling your co-workers for a commission but let your customers shop and talk amongst themselves… DON’T STALK! If you’re going to shop there YOUHAVETO handle it like this… When they approach you IMMEDIATELY extend your hand, introduce yourself, ask for a card and tell them if you need help that you will come looking for them or else you’ll have an annoying shadow the entire time.

My husband and I ordered a bedroom set from the RoomStore in Woodbridge, Virginia back in January. We knew it was on back order until mid-April and we were okay with that. A few weeks ago we received a call and were told all of our furniture was in except our chest. Then a couple days later we were told the nightstand wasn’t available either. So basically we are only receiving half of our set. Although the set was available mid-month, delivery was not available until today, April 28, the end of the month. Mind you, we paid for said delivery back in January. We were told our furniture would be delivered between 2:45 — 6:45PM. Around 5:00PM we received a call saying they would not be here until 8 – 8:30PM. As I write this it is 9:45PM and we STILL have NOT received our furniture. About 7:00PM we received a phone call stating that one of the movers did not bring an ID and therefore would not be able to get onto post(we live on Fort Belvoir). The furniture would not be able to be moved without two sets of hands. The manager presented this to me as if I had the answer to their mishap. My husband talked to the manager and we were given the option to receive the furniture the next day(Sunday). We did not want to waste another day of our weekend waiting around for our furniture so it was arranged that my husband would help the mover carry the furniture in and we would receive half of our delivery fee back. When the movers got close, they called to ask one of us to meet them at the gate to get them in. My husband went up there only to find out that deliveries could not be made on post after 9PM. This should have NEVER been an issue as our furniture was supposed to be here by 6:45PM. But since it was an issue, we called the manager back to set up a time for the furniture to be delivered tomorrow. His story, however, had changed. Now the option to have the furniture tomorrow(Sunday) was not available. The mover was going to be «out of town.» Are you kidding me??? My advice: DONOTBUYANYTHINGFROMTHISSTORE!

Bad: Dining room table top is warping and flaking off pieces and to top it off won’t honor warranty for repair. Horrible warranty service and a total waste of money. Would have been more enjoyable lighting two cigars with hundred dollar bills for the $ 200 wasted. Purchased the«No Use, No Lose protection plan» from the RoomStore as advised by salesman Fernando Cruz — he is a liar. Normally I don’t purchase protection plans, but as explained to me in detail, it would cover everything… and that was the words he used, everything. If it chips, breaks, spill coffee on it, kids mark it up with a knife, anything. What you don’t realize is that the warranty is through a third party Guardian Insurance(they also insure cars for warranty work, read their reviews – horrible!). So, lesson one — you can’t read the warranty parameters until AFTER you pay for the warranty and they then mail it to your house – warning sign #1. They make you think everything is covered because they give you a certificate with a serial number on it in the store and you think that is your coverage, it is not. Guardian Insurance, what a scam. Warning #2, they use a third party vendor for warranty work. I called in for a claim, and they ask you a bunch of leading questions(more on this later), that you answer truthfully. They then use it against you to deny your claim. You also learn that if for some 1 in a 1000 chance that they do come out for repair work, then you’ve used up your ‘warranty’…one shot deal. It would be cheaper to call someone yourself, but you wouldn’t know that based on talking to the salesman. Anyway, denied because I didn’t report the flaking within five days of noticing it flaking. They also RECORD the conversation and tell you that they’ve recorded it so they can prove that you didn’t meet the requirements as outlined in the document they send to you(which you won’t notice because it comes in a box with a bunch of cleaners and polishes – so you think its jut directions for use). Also, they put your serial number on the box, so if you throw away the box, then you have no number – and no warranty. Clever, no? Scam artists. I thought I was being smart, by keeping all the paperwork and receipts – and box… not smart enough. Everything is a scam to take your money. So now I have a flaking chipped up table and no recourse other than to maybe repair it myself. Cliff Notes: Stay Away If I can convince at least three or four people to NOT buy furniture from the RoomStore, then I’ll feel vindicated that the lost business makes up for the $ 200 they swindled from me.
