Shear Scapes

I took one star away just because of communication (mostly due to internet issues the company had) with scheduling the work. That being said, the quality and the value of the work was excellent. We wanted to have a larger patio built since we were unable to grow grass in our backyard. I met with Sam (the owner) and he gave me an estimate promptly. I got a few other estimates from local landscaping companies, and Shear Scapes had the best value by far. The team completed the project in 2 days and now we are finally able to enjoy our backyard!

I cant get over just how awesome this husband and wife team made our yard look. They managed to work within my budget and gave me much more than I expected. Sam is a true landscape artist and we couldn’t be happier!

I’m giving a neutral review based on interaction and communication alone; after all it is part of the entire client service experience. Extremely professional, client proposal presentation package hand delivered, and responsive to questions. I did find them to be a bit higher in comparison to 4 other landscaping companies but experience and A+ BBB rating should count for something right?!
Now on to other observations — My requirements changed based on the estimates received and I decided to forego getting a patio through a company due to labor costs. I did however want to use them for new flower beds and landscaping near the front of my home. I asked about the 10% coupon and was informed that it had to be mentioned at the beginning of discussions — that isn’t mentioned anywhere on the coupon so it seems like since the needs changed from a 10K project to a 1K project they weren’t as willing to honor this coupon. They also don’t provide diagrams which are helpful in trying to decide which company to choose. They said they don’t have the technology but other companies simply provided drawings to scale — no technology required, just a pencil and measurements. :)
Do your homework, get multiple estimates and go with your gut for any home project. Shear Scapes didn’t fit my needs due to the size of my job, but they may work for you and your needs.
