Once Upon A Child- Deptford

Just aweful! The staff is composed of rude teenagers. The store is filthy. I took 2 huge boxes of toddler clothing, folded & the sets were clipped together. After they had me wait 45 mins just to go over buying procedure (no other sellers in store & 1 staff member on cell phone) she tore through the boxes of clothes and informed me that sets had to be put together. ??? What?! They were till you took them apart! Wth did you think they were clipped together for? I told her they were clipped in sets! Stupid girl. I was so frustrated I asked for my belongings back & dropped them off at the donation box. Never will I set foot in that joke of a store again.

Pretty good experience so far and whoever runs the Facebook page is always VERY quick to reply to questions and concerns.
I bought some of the best and most affordable outfits for my son here – he is 3 months old. I love a good bargain. Only downside is that there is always more girls clothing than boys – probably because boys are rough and tumble – so that is probably not even their fault.
I’ve never sold anything to them so I cannot attest to that – which seems to be where the negatives I’ve seen are from. HOWEVER, they have to run a business and also consider how upset you are when someone doesn’t give you money and you are stuck with old kids clothes you spent lots of money on. I can see their anger – but ultimately it’s a business so they have to do what they think is best.
All in all, great store with helpful employees and cute stuff.

First of all this is a great idea. That said this story is very dirty the baby products are very dirty. I found a bounce seat that was taped togther with black electrical tape. The staff seems to be made up of teenagers not very friendly or helpfull. I have been here for over an hour and no one is buying anything. They don’t clean anything not even wiping it off. I can’t say how duty this place is. Not to fast at checking us out. On the phone a lot.

This place really fills a need for gently used baby & toddler clothes and gear. It isn’t one of those fancy, overpriced consignment shops, nor is it a shabby/​cheap thrift store either. They both buy & sell here.
I went in to sell some clothes, but I was pretty impressed by how organized everything was. I ended up browsing and picking up a few things for the boys. The clothes are arranged by sex, size & even color. The prices are about ¹⁄₃ retail and seems like they are careful about what they buy. It’s not designer stuff. More like nice hand-​me-​downs.
