Taste

Having never really been to Long Island, I relied on Unilocal to help me find a nice bakery/​coffee shop. When I saw the raving reviews about Taste, how it was the «best bakery in Long Island», I decided to give it a try.
First I would just like to say that the staff is really nice, but that was the only nice thing about the place.
I went there on a Thursday afternoon, the place was completely empty, with a display cabinet of some deserts. There were some cookies, cake pops, and cupcakes. None of them looked very appetizing at all. But I came here with a friend and we wanted dessert with coffee so that’s what we did. I ordered a coffee and a double chocolate cupcake. Wow the coffee was just being heated by a very outdated hot plate. Not what I expected from a «coffee shop». Then there was the cupcake: overly sweet and dry. Bottom line, we were really disappointed and will never return. I wish I had just gone to a starbucks instead.

A hidden gem! Such great desserts, especially the raspberry cheesecake bar and chocolate chip shortbread bottom brownie! All the employees are super friendly as well.

Amazing cakes both in presentation and taste. Corina has been making birthday cakes for my kids for years and each one is more special than the last. I think people come to our birthday celebrations just for the cakes!
Corina is creative and can take any idea and make it into a work of art that is delightful to eat!
Highly, highly recommend taste!

Best bakery on Long Island — everything is delicious plus their flavor creations are awesome, and they have weekly cupcake rotations, so every week you can try something new.

Corina is so helpful! She is such an easy going person who just wants to make your experience with her a breeze. I personally have not visited Taste, but I sent some of Taste’s cupcakes to a friend of mine. My friend said that the cupcakes were absolutely amazing and teeming with flavor with each and every bite. Hopefully in the future, I can visit this amazing store and its extremely caring and devoted owner working there while I get some delicious cupcakes in the process.

Fantastic! I went to Taste for cupcakes for my daughters tea-​party shower and Corina came up with a beautiful design and delicious cupcakes. My daughter then had a grooms cake made by taste and designed by Corina and it exceeded all expectations. Corina is truly an artist and an amazing baker. If you want the best… go to Taste!

All I can say is wow! I went to taste based on reviews from Unilocal.I’m glad I went. Everything from the cupcakes to the brownies were delicious. Everything had the right amount of sweetness without giving you a toothache. The moistness of the cupcakes was amazing. One of my friends said the cupcakes were better than Crumbs. I’ve never been to Crumbs but I’ll take her word for it. The cake displays are beautiful and prices are not bad. I wish I lived closer so I can go back as frequently as I wanted. I will definitely be going back to taste to buy whatever my sweet tooth desires.

I ordered a custom cake from Taste for my wife’s birthday. The cake was not only beautiful, but was delicious as well. Everyone at the party commented on how amazing it looked and the red velvet filling was the best I have ever had. Corina is truly an artist who turns out amazing baked goods that are sure to impress and will satisfy all the senses.

Never a disappointment. Fresh baked goodies. Love the raspberry cheesecake bars. Always friendly employees and Corina too!!! Cupcakes are wonderful so are the rainbow cookies. Love the new location.

One bad thing about Unilocal is that when a business moves to a new location, the old reviews don’t go along with it. As a result, I saw no need, until now, to update my old reviews. As I was recently at Corina’s new shop, I am glad to say that due to her expanded offerings, it is just as good, if not better than before.
The cupcakes are fantastic as are the cake pops. I couldn’t make a choice between a couple of flavors and wound up eating a few different ones. All totally delish!,
She now offers some beverages including a very good coffee that she said was from a local brewer if I understood correctly. Oh yeah, there are a couple of tables too and the shop with its glass enclosed baking area has a real post-​modern look to it.
I have a special birthday coming up and hope my wife sees this and orders my cake from here.
